12/27: Friday Faves

24 rules for being a human being in 2014. <– definitely worth a read

Candles 1 of 1

These cute votive candles. Helps indecisive people like me try a bunch of new fragrances with minimal commitment, and they were a RueLaLa sale. Friday Faves has slowly become “Gina’s favorite candle this week.”

Moccs 1 of 1

Livi’s Freshly Picked moccs. I’ve been wanting to get her a pair, and the 25% off Black Friday deal was the final nudge to order some. She adores her moccasins, and I love that the elastic isn’t tight (her Minnetonka moccs were too small around the ankle). I want some in my size 😉

Reebok 1 of 1 12

This comfy Reebok yoga tee. I ordered it using a gift card they sent, along with these slouchy sweats. They’re perfect to wear around the house, or over Boogie shorts for hot yoga.

Inspiration board time! It’s that time of year to get crac-a-lacking on visualizing your 2014. Where do you want to go? What are you going to accomplish? I’ll put the official call out next week, but if you want to get started early, pin your inspiration board with your goals for 2014. Be sure to include #inspirationboard @fitnessista so I can shout of some faves here on the blog! I can’t wait to see. In the past, I used to make my boards using paper and magazine cut outs, but alas, since the world is teching ahead and I’m still tapping morse code to write this blog post, I decided to catch up on the Pinterest train. We did it this way last year -and it was amazing!- but you can see some of my paper boards here and here

This contemporary dance how-to. I died laughing, and still think about, “Go to sleep, Bich” and snicker to myself.

Pom 1 of 1

Pom vinegar. TJ’s, you never cease to amaze me with your new creations. I love it on green salads with a crumble of goat cheese and sprinkle of hemp seeds. It’s tangy, slightly sweet and perfect on its own. I’m excited to use it in some veggie stir fries.

Sitting on the floor at madre’s house, with Livi and my two little cousins in my lap, all four of us wrapped up in a burrito blanket, watching Rescuers and eating kettle corn out of a giant bag.

Winter Dream tea! I first tried this about a month ago in San Francisco (with Jenna and Julie) and fell in love with the almond milk tea latte. I’ve been making my own here at home, and it’s alllllmost as good as the real thing 😉 I’m so excited we’re going to be close to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in San Diego!

Speaking of San Diego, we have to make a trip out there in the next few weeks to figure out where we’re going to live. It’s harder to visualize my 2014, since I have no idea what it’s going to look like, but I have a good feeling about it 😉

What are you looking forward to this weekend? Did you receive any amazing holiday gifts? I’d love to hear about your favorite part of this past week!

Hope you have a happy Friday <3

See ya later on the Family page.

xoxo

Oohhh I love the candle set. I’m indecisive too, so what a relief to have each and every one 🙂 Except now the hard part is which ones to light first! Haha! I’m obsessing over all things Trader Joe’s as well. Friday Faves are my faves! 🙂

I saw that pom vinegar at TJ’s last time I was there, but was unsure how I would use it. Drizzling on salads is a great idea… I’ll have to give it a try. Kettle corn is the best!

Love the candle set and the picture of you is gorgeous. It is funny you mentioned inspiration board, I started one a few weeks ago. That vinegar looks wonderful. Have a wonderful time in San Diego.

I am looking forward to a quiet, not too cold weekend and your “kick asana” workout routine. I really liked it, so I will be doing again this week. Please post more. Thanks

I am looking forward to visiting our wedding venue this weekend! We live in Seattle, WA and will get getting married on the Hood Canal at Alderbrook Resort & Spa (you MUST google this place). My fiance’s family has a house on the Canal, so it’s been a great place for us (we went out there one of our first weekend “getaways” as a dating couple).

For Christmas, our favorite present was a VITAMIX! Cole (fiance) has been making me green smoothies for breakfast, and I have even made cranberry-orange sauce in it already! I am obsessed 🙂 The other favorite Christmas present was an adorable 1800’s print of a row of king cavalier puppies that my soon-to-be father in law got us for our baby’s room (we are due July 2014).

Needless to say, 2014 IS GOING TO BE BIG!! <3

DUDE. so many exciting things on the way!!! congratulations to you! your venue is AMAZING
and welcome to the vitamin obsession 🙂

#1 – Train for and complete a Half Marathon

I know that you joined a great running group to help you train. Unfortunately, I cannot find one close enough to me to join. Are there any apps that you’ve used to help you train, track, and stay motivated?

    • Fitnessista on December 27, 2013 at 5:18 pm

i’ve heard great things about using map my run. might be an option to check out! best of luck to you with your half!!! so exciting 🙂

  12. Carson on December 27, 2013 at 4:46 pm

I am going to check into these candles. I always have a candle (or three) burning and it seems like I am buying them all the time.

    • Fitnessista on December 27, 2013 at 5:15 pm

same! the pilot said i should just take dollar bills and set them on fire. they make the house smell so lovely, though! 🙂

  13. Lauren on December 27, 2013 at 4:55 pm

What nail color are you wearing in the pom vinegar picture?! Love it.

  14. Sara @ LovingOnTheRun on December 27, 2013 at 5:20 pm

I love your shirt from Reebok! So colorful!!

  15. Sanaz@ Run for Cake on December 27, 2013 at 7:10 pm

Pomegranate Vinegar?! Get out! Can’t wait to try this!

  16. Laura on December 27, 2013 at 7:41 pm

So since you are talking about 2014 and all it has to bring… I have a slightly nosey question that you can totally ignore 🙂 I’m curious if you and the pilot are planning on having any more babies! You may get this all the time, but as I try to “plan” my life/babies/etc. I’m always chatting with friends about timing and all that good stuff! Are you willing to share? Either way, I say follow your heart 🙂

  17. Laura B @ FitMamaLove on December 27, 2013 at 11:10 pm

I’m super curious to hear about your house hunt in San Diego since I think housing prices are just a wee bit higher than in Tucson! 🙂 Hope it doesn’t bum you out to much. Having lived on the east coast most of my life, it took me awhile to accept the fact that we will never live in the type of house that was just normal out there because housing is just too expensive here in CA. Good luck to you–I hope you find something wonderful!

    • Fitnessista on December 28, 2013 at 4:32 pm

there is fear in my heart haha. i’d be happy living in a tent on the beach 😉 from what i can tell so far, we’ll be living somewhere half the size of our current place and twice our mortgage

  18. Kaelene on December 28, 2013 at 4:04 am

I love the idea of a visualization board on pinterest, most definitely will be doing this for my goals for 2014. My favorite thing this week was skyping with my family at Christmas and seeing how excited my little brothers were opening their gifts.

  19. Shaina Anderson on December 28, 2013 at 10:14 pm

San Diegoooooooo! 🙂 Good luck with the house hunt. Patrick still keeps in tough with his realtor from when he bought with another guy from flight school back in 2004. Amazing guy, he worked his ASS off to help them sell last year. He does rentals too….let me know if you want his info!

  20. Alycia on December 29, 2013 at 10:09 pm
