Running my little heart out

Helloooooooo :D How’s your Monday going?

Yesterday afternoon, before going running with the girls, I had an Emergen-C (works wonders and I love the little energy boost it gives me) and grabbed a Blueberry Z-bar to munch afterwards:

We ran a little over 4 miles and it was gloooorious. I split the Z-bar with Renee afterwards and loved this flavor. My friend Megan is at Whole Foods in Orlando right now, so I requested a couple more since the Blueberry and Spooky S’mores are no where to be found in V-town.

After the run, we went to our meeting at the squadron to find out exactly what’s going on. Mehhhh. All I’m going to say, is thank goodness they had food for us –it was the only good thing about the meeting. There was a little cheese, grapes and meat platter, chicken wings and Triscuits. I had a few Triscuits (the rosemary garlic flavor), a bunch of grapes and a few little blocks of cheese. I didn’t have my camera with me, but not sure I would have taken a pic if I did.

When I got home, my appetite was in a funk (rightfully so), and the only thing that sounded good was a PB and J on tortilla. So that’s what I ate:

I watched Desperate Housewives (did you SEE IT!?! I loved it) and realized my severe protein deficiency for the day. To try to make up for it (a little), I had 1/4 cup light Ricotta with 1/4 scoop protein powder.

Check out Viesa with her new vampire bat toy (Bella got a pumpkin):

new pics 233

She held that thing hostage all night last night.

I crashed out and woke up early this morning so I could take the puppies on a long walk before I got started on the homework grind.

I had 1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt with 1/2 scoop protein powder and a crumbled chocolate chip Z-bar and some Vanilla Biscotti coffee:

The puppies and I walked the base trail for 40 minutes (a little over 2 miles) and then came home.

I studied for about 2 hours (finally getting into a school routine.. almost halfway through the semester… so much has been going on), and had an apple with a Laughing Cow wedge for snack:

:

I really liked this cheese on the apple– I like Laughing Cow on almost anything (!) but the sweet and savory combo, plus the protein and healthy fat addition to the apple was a bueno choice.

I’m about to leave to meet with my group for a project, back home home change and grab a snack, then off to spin and Zumba.

Brings back fond Cinnabon memories:

Sorry it’s impossible to read, but it’s cinnamon roll flavored. I’ve already requested a new camera for my b-day ;)

Hope you have a wonderful day and I’ll be back tonight for more homework, Dancing with the Stars and to comment away :D

Take care,

G

The bottom sentence was supposed to go above the Larabar but it won’t let me move it :/ I’ve gotta go, so it’s staying there!!!

I’m taking this to eat during my group meeting

I love having ricotta (part skim) you should try it with the crumbled z bar, it is good protein and plus has more calcium than eating cottage cheese.. and great flavor espcially if mixed with carob powder~!

Gina you are such a strong woman it amazes me. Keep it up! Hopefully your husband will be able to come home soon from wherever he is.

I am buying bananas today JUST so that they can get ripe for your banana bread!! I am going to add apples to it I think!!!! I am very excited, in case you couldn’t tell.

I can relate with the military stress! I’ve had my dad in Afghanistan, an uncle in Iraq twice and a cousin there as well. I can’t imagine having a husband there though. Stay strong!

Thanks for continuing to post even though your life is a little on the bumpy side.
Valdosta sounds so much like Lubbock. I can’t find ANYTHING here, in terms of bars. I have to go to GNC if I want a PB Larabar!
    Have a great night Gina!

If you want I can send you Seasons 52 desserts. I’m not sure how they would be once they got there, but I’m sure licking the shot glass clean would still be on the cards. :)

I love your “protein pudding” concoction!!! Love it, love it. I had been actually buying real protein puddings, here is the link http://wholesalesupplementstore.com/stallone-high-protein-pudding.html
they are very delicious and readily available just at GNC, BUT they are cost prohibitive for an everyday, or even every week eat. Just thought I’d let you know they were out there as I already know we both heart naturally more PB. netrition.com has some kooky protein products that entice me (other protein PBs, protein pretzels (?!!?), protein chips, etc.) but I’m highly skeptical. I like the extra healthiness of whatnot, but I will never sacrifice taste. Oh and those tortillas you buy, I had a new idea yesterday where I mixed 1 scoop protein powder with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1.5 tablespoons water, I spread that on a low carb tortilla, rolled it up, cut it into rounds, and baked it for ~12 minutes at 350 and voila mini cinnamon rolls.

So glad that you like the blueberry ZBars!! I am jealous that you will be getting more Spooky S’mores because I still haven’t found any. Luckily my fam did so I will have some next time I go home!

I’m sooo sorry again about all the stress that’s going on right now. I really am keeping you in my thoughts and I know that if you are even 1/2 as strong as you come across on your blog (because trust me, you sound like one tough cookie!), everything will turn out ok.

Desperate Housewives was indeed AMAZING, as is CINNABON!! Haha, even just mentioning it got me all excited!

    Have a lovely evening!

    Hey babe,

I’m glad you had a good time with the girls. It’s so nice running outside this time of year. You have to take advantage before it starts to get cold. Thanks for taking good care of the pups, too…they look pretty happy to me ;) Hope you have a great day tomorrow and I’ll talk to you soon. Love you, me

P.S. The chow hall has yet to act on my request to serve Season52 so you can go ahead and mail some of those deserts on my way whenever you get the chance.

I pray for all the best for you and the pilot:)

And Housewives was great but I really want Mike back together with Susan.

And those twins look a lot older than just 5 years older, my husband picked up on that one. He was like “I thought they were 6 last season, so shouldn’t they be 11″. But, I’m so excited it is back on:)

hi jillian- i usually use the chocolate designer why– it doesn’t taste the best (it’s not horrible, but very protein-y) but i like the nutritional info the best for this brand. spirutein is also pretty good!

twinks and jackie- i’m going to post right now– thanks for checking on me :D yesterday was cccrrraaazzzyyy
