The pitter pat of little feet

Hi everyone! HAPPY SATURDAY!!

I didn’t get the chance to post yesterday because I was busy from 8AM until 10PM!! When I got home last night,  I had the chance to speak to the pilot online for a while, so I think you would understand :D

In the morning I had to meet with my management group for a project. I had "Protein Pudding" with1/3 cup nonfat yogurt, 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder and a crumbled Spooky S’mores Z-bar on top –it was my first time trying this flavor and I have a new favorite!!! It was soooo good:

Breakfast a la cup:

I met with my group, picked up some groceries for the baby shower, walked the puppies on the base trail, then had a snack: whole wheat low carb tortilla, polar fruit spread and Naturally more (the PBOC –peanut butter of choice):

Has anyone else tried this peanut butter?? It has flax which gives a little crunch, lower cals, lower fat and higher protein (10g!) than the average PB

I spent most of the afternoon shopping for a baby shower gift and making food:

My favorite Pasta Salad

An idea I got from the lovely Christie at Sportsnutritionliving– Crudite Cuties

I also made some Sweet Potato Feta Rounds

For lunch, I wanted something light since I knew I would be feasting out later that evening, so I had a smoothie:

- 1 cup milk

-1/2 cup ice

-1 scoop chocolate protein powder

-1/3 cup pumpkin

-1/3 cup fat free plain yogurt

-pumpkin pie spice and Stevia

I also had an Emergen-C. My throat has been bothering me (I always get a little sickers when the seasons change) so I’m determined to fight it!

New dress (TARGET!!) and little Bella:

The baby shower was SO much fun! Jeni and her mom did such a gorgeous job putting all of the food together (I should have taken pics of everything), but here is plato numero uno:

Crudite cup, pasta salad, apple and brie, marinated shrimp (marinated for 24 hours…and it was incredible)

Plate #2:

Sweet potato found, fruit, more delicious shrimpies

new pics 211

I also had 2 glasses of red wine (they didn’t want to be photographed).

It was so cute playing baby games and watching Vanessa open her gifts. It almost (key word there.. don’t get too excited, pilot) made me want a baby!

Check out the cake:

You know I had a piece of that :D

So after the shower, I got home kind of late and then spent the rest of the evening chatty with the pilot until he went to bed (god bless AIM!).

This morning, I had some brown rice cereal with 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder, 2/3 cup fat free organic milk and a small nanner:

I’m almost out of Cinnamon Pecan Roll Coffee..

I took the puppies on a walk to Jeni’s to pick up my car (I got a ride home last night since there was a car blocking me and didn’t want them to have to move it) and came home.

For snack, I’m about to eat a Cocoa Mole Larabar. I’m so excited for this flavor!! I love spicy and I loooove chocolate, so I know I’ll be a fan.

I’m off to get started studying for management, hit the gym for biceps, triceps and cardio, then tonight is sushi night :D

Hope you’re all having a wonderful Saturday!

Take care,

G

Did one of your friends make that cake? It’s adorable!

I’ll have to try that PB. I’ve seen it at the grocery store, but I generally stick with plain PB because I love it so much!

That cake is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

I looked up that PB online because it definitely seems like something I’d be into, but alas, not sold in Rhode Island. Boo. Maybe on my next trip to visit Mark in NJ.

Sooo happy that you had the chance to speak to the pilot online!!! Hooray!!!

Pumpkin-seed-butter has even MORE protein than that peanut butter – and the only ingredient is “pumpkin seeds” :0)

Such fun food at the baby shower!! And that cake is just too cute :0)

Love your dress!!

Aww, Bella is a doll!!

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday, Gina!!

I almost bought that PB yesterday. It was in my hand, and I put it back in favor of Smucker’s natural. I’ll have to try it next time!

Baby Showers are fun. I love all the games and presents. And, that is such a cute dress that you got from Target.

I don’t know if you have answered this question before but I am thinking about adding protein powder to my diet and I notice that you use it a lot. What do you think the advantages are of using… feeling full longer? And what brand do you use?

Thanks!! HAVE a great Sunday!

brittany- HI!!! thanks so much for reading and for your comment!! it’s always nice to hear from people in military families! that is SO cool that you’re from tucson. maybe we can have a blog dinner sometime in tallahassee?

veggiegirl- i will definitely be on the lookout for pumpkin-seed butter! i highly doubt i’ll be able to find it here, but maybe i can order some!

chickpea- i LOVE this peanut butter! it’s funny, i haven’t bought it in a long time because portion control got to be an issue (i would get home from work and snack out of it straight from the jar) but i’ve gotten better and think i can trust myself with it again :D it is SOOO good!!

hey eatingbirdfood- i’ve had to eat a lot more protein powder since i stopped eating meat because it’s impossible to get all of my protein without it (i aim for .9g per pound of body weight), especially since i try not to eat too many soy products. i think there are a lot of advantages to it: i feel full longer and notice a difference in my appearance (my abs particularly look a LOT better when i get enough protein). it’s also convenient to carry around and you can add it to so many things– yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, smoothies, canned pumpkin, peanut butter…
let me know if you decide to start using it and what brand you pick!

You are just beautiful in that photo (but I already knew you were beautiful from your profile pic).

Did you like the cocoa mole bar? I was super-excited to ty it, but ended up hating it. I like the Jocolats much more.

happy Sunday!!!

ccv: thank you! :D ughh i didn’t like it either! i usually LOVE sweet and spicy (like the mexican watermelon lollipops or the green and black dark chocolate with chili) but the larabar was BLECH. the combo just didn’t work out well.. i almost couldn’t finish it!
