Hey hey hey!!! I’m a big fan of humpday ;) Hope yours has been lovely!

Don’t forget to enter the Stonyfield giveaway –you have 3 chances to win some wonderful goodies!!!

I knew today was going to be a good one because I had this little joy waiting in the fridge:

001

A lovely almond butter and strawberry preserves bfast cookie!!

Mmmm the strawberry preserves gave it a glossy sheen :D

002

And Joe, of course:

003

I took the puppies on their walk, did 10 minutes of Namaste yoga on FitTV before getting bummed out that I’m not pro enough to do crane pose –any modifications, friends?- so I switched to Good Morning America and got ready for work.

Mid-morning snack:

004

Work was extremely boring invigorating as usual and I came home to make a super fast and super scrumptious lonchi.

I broke out this:

005

Boiled a diced sweet potato for 8 minutes (until fork tender), and then put a serving of the frijoles in a bowl, topped with romaine, the sweet potato, chipotle seasoning, Texas pete, sea salt, raw cheddar and raw flax bread crumbles:

006

This gigantic salad beast filled me to the brim and it was sooooooo good!!!

I went back to work for an hour, came home and napped with the puppies cleaned the casa a little, then made a smoothie using the raw almond milk I made yesterday, 1/2 nanner (left over from the bfast cookie), a scoop of vanilla brown rice protein, Stevia and vanilla liquid Stevia.

Super frothy and a great pre-teaching snack:

010

I packed up my stuff to teach and then went to the base for spin and Zumba:

011

Both classes were so much fun –I had 5 stingers in between and the coconut water after- and then I met my pilot at Indian for a date :D

We had the pappadum and dippers:

012

And I ordered something different tonight!!! Another *secret menu* item :D I love that we know the owner and he knows what kinda stuff we like!

Shrimpies in a delicious curry Baigan Bhartha-esque sauce:

013

Two naans in a basket (the top one is my whole wheat one and the bottom one is the pilot’s cheese-stuffed naan. He would)

014

The pilot ordered the fish special per the owner’s recommendation, and he loved it!! It kinda creeped me out that the entire fish was on his plate:

016

I was convinced he was looking at me the whole time!! And I’m pretty sure I saw nostrils!! Do fish have nostrils?!?

The pilot devoured his fish and I very, very much enjoyed my shrimpies :D

Now we’re back at the casa and Megan is heading over for one of my favorite pastimes: wine + yoga. We’re going to break open a bottle of red and put on a Dave Farmer podcast.

See ya tomorrow!!!!

xoxo,

Gina

i’m pretty sure fish do NOT have nostrils, but yea I would be a bit creeped out too! and I could be wrong about the nostrils. Also, I think if you and your pilot’s naan got together and made little whole wheat cheese filled naan babies I would gobble them up!

Fish nostrils are not part of their breathing apparatus – they are not connected to the fish’s throat. They do contain an organ called a sensory rosette, however, which is how fish smell. Many fish have acute senses of smell, so their nostrils are very functional.

Thank you google anwsers! Haha

Glad you had fun at indian food Gina!!

The shake and bean salad look so good!!! I can’t wait to be home over the summer with loads of kitchen gear so that I can whip up the same drinks and put together some fun salads like you!

Mm, love your gigantic salad beast! There is nothing like a big, voluminous salad – it’s awesome!

Hurray for Indian! Love that the pilot got cheese-filled naan ;o) But that fish is crazy – I’m not sure if they have nostrils, and I don’t intend on getting to close to find out!

I hope you have fun with Megan! That sounds like a great way to unwind!

Why do I think that “two naans in a basket” sounds like a great rock band name?? What a great date!

The deal with Bakasana is the following: lean over farther than you think you need to, and get your knees/shins into your armpits! Sometimes if I am not the correct amount of sweaty, this does not work, but if you get skin-to-skin contact the “stickiness” factor will help, does that make sense? Once you are balanced on your toes, try lifting up one foot. When you have that down, really engage your pelvic floor (it’s almost a coccyx curl, really) in order to lift up your foot and balance on your hands. And when you have THAT down, straighten your arms. Yay!

Arm balances are my favorite part of yoga. I practice in a gym in that is 95% muscle queens, and you know that gay men LOVE their guns, so we do a ton of different kinds of balancing poses, which is basically a dream come true. Nothing makes me feel more hardcore than an envious look from a man whose bicep is the size of my thigh!

Shakira is one of my favorite singers of all time! I feel like I’m a real fan because I liked her Spanish stuff when no one else had ever heard of her haha.

And now I really want Indian food…I don’t think my fake-ass curry dishes are going to cut it for much longer.

haha you’re so funny- fish don’t have nostrils because they breath through their gils, right? Love the addition of the preserves to the bfast cookie! I bet it gave the cookie just the right amount of sweetness

That breakfast cookie plate is adorable. Great looking salad too.

Shakira is a fabulous singer. I’m not familiar with that song, but she has a great voice.
