Why hello!! Hope you’ve all had a great day!
I did- the day is always a little brighter when you get to leave work 45 minutes early
I was really, really wanting a salad beast but didn’t have tomatoes, or raw goat cheddar, so I did some improvisation.
Romaine, carrots, raw sunflower and flax seeds, 1/4 orange bell pepper and a truly awesome dressing made out of 1/2 tbs raw ab, nama shoyu, splash rice wine vinegar, garlic powder, cayenne, lots of cilantro and sea salt.
It was soooo good! Cilantro is probably my favorite herb- I could eat it on everything!!! What’s yours??? The dressing was awesome, too. I used to be afraid of making my own salad dressings for some weird reason and now I’m crazy about it.
I also had la cucaracha:
I went to teach step, which was a blasty, and then met up with the girls for INDIAN!!!!!!
I decided to make it vino night for the third night in a row (bring on the antioxidants, heh)
Delicious whole wheat naan:
And baigan bhartha, my favorite:
It was beautiful
I think I’m secretly Indian.
Now I’m watching a CRAZY episode of Grey’s –god bless the writers for making this seasons so much better than last season- then crashing out with the pilot. There’s a 5k at 0700 tomorrow morning, but we’ll see if I wake up on time
Have a great night <3

Hi, I'm Gina. Welcome to The Fitnessista! I love blogging about my adventures as a new mom, military wife and fitness instructor, as well as sharing new workouts and recipes. Check out the About page for more info - thanks for stopping by!

I’m also watching Grey’s – so crazy! Cilantro is also my favorite, with basil coming in as a close second. I’m glad that cilantro tastes like pure deliciousness to me and not like soap. Yum!
<3 indian food! my favorite herb is probably also cilantro! my mom told me when i was little, i used to eat it plain =/ i'm not sure i still like it thaaaat much but it pretty much goes with anything! have a good night.. tomorrow's FRIDAY!
You are going giveaway crazy, girl…and I LOVE it. hahaha
I NEED to eat at your indian place…it always looks sooo good!
Ok, that’s it… we’re going to have to go get Indian ASAP because yours always looks so good!!
Grey’s has been so good lately!
I love cilantro too!! Fun fact: my friend is ALLERGIC to it! Everytime we eat mexican (or any other cilantro-containing cuisine) he’s gotten sick…we finally figured it out!
Yay for vino 3 nights in a row, that’s totally MY kind of week
I love Indian food! And naan … oh my. I would fall off my healthy ways just for the naan! LOL!
I posted about your giveaway on my blog, btw.
I’ve been loving basil lately! For whatever reason I never make own dressing, I really should though since I have a lot of the basics! Looveee baigan bharta and Naan…soooo good!
kristyln- thats why i go for the whole wheat
Yay for Indian! That’s a pretty hefty glass too.
I like it when restaurants are generous with the wine.
The salad dressing you made sounds incredible!
You’re very welcome, and thank YOU for the oat groats idea! Love your blog!
ahhh, so jeal! indian is my fav, I am so envious of your eats
i could make a career out of eating naan!
I’m so behind on Grey’s this season! I need to sit at my computer one day and watch every episode! I don’t like cilantro but I love pretty much every other spice! I’d say cinnamon is my fav!
I love cilantro too!! Try a little bit of it juiced into your favorite fruit juice or a whole bunch of it in a smoothie… cilantro, pear, banana frozen smoothie.. or grapefruit and cilantro are great too.. SERIOUSLY! I used to drink that daily. I thought you were Indian when I first started reading your blog because of how many times you ate indian food… haha. = ) Have a nice night.
Ah I now cannot wait to watch tonight’s grey, hopefully I’ll get to sometime tomorrow!! I so agree, this season is way better and I loveeee it!! I wonder if they are going to kill Izzie off or not though!?
That raw salad (and smoothie from last post) look amaaaazing! And so does the indian food, of course.
This season IS so much better thank goodness! I just wanted to say that I love reading your posties- and I started reading your blog when the Pilot was away, and just to see the difference in your happiness and writing now that he’s back makes me all warm and fuzzy
I’m so happy for u! oxo
I love cilantro too! My family thinks it tastes like dish soap but not moi
Delish Indian food!! I say this every time but I really need to try Indian! Happy Friday, G$!
My fave herb would have to be fresh basil….I’ve seen some chocolate mint around blogland. That’s sounds like it could become my fave!
Have a great day, Gina!
Grey’s was good last night – you think Izzy’s getting the boot?
Mmm the Indian spread looks awesome!
I recently read that people who drink 1 glass of wine per day have smaller waists than those who drink no wine at all. Sure, studies will yield the findings that the researchers are looking for, but I’m holding on to this one!
I am SO BEHIND on Grey's! It was just kind of meh for awhile there.
I <3 cilantro. I could seriously eat it in EVERYthing!
I’m not sure what my favorite herb is, but cilantro and fennel are on the top of the list of the ones I hate. :-/
I would say you are def secretly Indian! teehee Can you believe I’ve never had Indian food?? Oh wait, yes you can, I live in the middle of NOWHERE!
Thanks for your sweet comments. I appreciate every single thought and prayer. It feels so good to be “back!” Love ya, girl!
I definitely love cilantro! Especially with corn and beans. I also love basil.
Have an excellent weekend Gina!
