Hey guys! Hope you’re having a great night! Just to forewarn you, and I NEVER do this… this is a wine-influenced blog. Everything I say from now on, please take with a grain of sea salt
Lonchi today was the usual salad beast with romaine, goat cheddar, bell pepper, grape tomatoes, lemon juice, sea salt, pepper, avocado, flax oil and raw goat cheddar.
All in the 9-cup mixing bowl because I was feeling fancy.
I took a couple of bites and felt like the salad beast was missing something, so I threw in a handful of dulse flakes.
And it was perfection
I TRIED to lay by the pool for a little while, but honestly it was just way to hot to be roasting out there. I lasted about 30 minutes with my new book before I called it quits and got ready to leave for my training appointment.
I pulled the cheesecake out of the oven:
And let it cool for a while.
Check out that Oreo (Newman’s Own, actually) crust!!!
Aww, little Betty Crocker:
I met Jeni at the Indian restaurant early before all of the other wives got there so we could set out the wine and order some appetizers for the table.
We busted open some wine for ourselves while we ordered:
And throughout the course of the lovely evening I had pappadum:
With unpictured dippers
GOBI MANCHURIAN!
Spicy cauliflower foodgasm heaven.
The standard extra spicy Baighan Bhartha
Whole wheat naan:
And DESSERT!
Chocolate chip Bundt cake with my cheesecake. Hello, treat night!
Check out this amazing chocolate chip Bundt cake Jeni made:
Since we hosted the coffee, Jeni and I got the wine and appetizers, made desserts, and each girl paid for their own entree. It worked out beautifully and we had a blasty as usual.
When I got home, a SURPRISE was here!!
Megan!!!!!!
The pilot took that pic of us cracking up in the kitchen
Shenanigans already…
She moved in with us tonight to stay for awhile because her pilot was deployed yesterday. They got rid of their apartment for cost reasons, and I wasn’t ready for her to move back home yet –she’s from Portland- so she’s chilling here for a while
We had a guest room and bathroom with her name on it. Another bonus, I think she’s going to 105 degrees with me in September
Winner, winner, raw food dinner.
I’m going to go ahead and peace out before I embarrass myself and say something ridiculous, so I’ll see ya’ll after humpday aerobics class #1.
xoxo,
Gina

Gina ~ do you have a fav Indian restaurant in Tucson? After seeing your posts I'm dying to try Indian. Like I need an excuse to go to Tucson but a decent restaurant always helps!
tonjatoi- YES new delhi palace on broadway and jessica in the same complex as walgreen's. it's delicious and the owner is super nice
That is very sweet of you two to have Megan live with you while her pilot is deployed. I know how hard it must be when they are gone, as one of my friend's husband is in the military and often deployed for long periods at a time. This will hopefully make the deployement go easier and quicker for her.
