Always eat dessert first

Hey hey hey 😀 WHOA everyone- thank you so much for all of your heartfelt and wonderful anniversary wishes! My madre even commented! So cute <3 I’m a very lucky girl to be married to the love of my life. And yes, I met him at Starbucks (the “Bizzle”) so I’m a huge believer in fate 😉

I did get some requests for more wedding pictures, so here are a couple more… (****Not gonna lie, I feel a little weird posting wedding pictures, but since it’s our anniversary and not some arbitrary Tuesday, I’m gonna roll with it). My nana took these pics- I like the keep the professional ones private 😉

Every guest had their own mini cake.. we had 3 different flavors and 3 different fillings, all covered in chocolate ganache.

There were tables like this all over ballroom:

The site:

(It went into a large “house” with two stories and half made out of glass so you could see the city lights)

The beefcake hottie:

(swooning is allowed)

The bridal party table:

And last, but not least, the pilot and I getting crunk on the dance floor:

Hahah and you thought this post was going to be serious 😉

So for bfast this morning, I had a lovely sludge after walking the puppies:

Hemp milk, banana, spinach, Vega, sprouted brown rice protein, Stevia, sea salt and lots of cinnamon.

I went into work for a while (and read Time Travelers Wife) before pumping some iron.

Warm up 5 minutes Elliptical hill program, level 5
Dumbbell upward row 8 lbs each 3 sets of 12
Straight leg dip Body weight 3 sets of 12
Supine chest push and fly 5 lbs each 3 sets of 12
Weighted full pilates teasers 3 lbs each 3 sets of 10 (These were intense!)
V-triceps extension machine 65 lbs 3 sets of 12
Lateral raises 5 lbs each 3 sets of 12
Triangle push up on stability ball Body weight 3 sets of 10
Alphabet abs** Body weight 1 set.. up to letter “N”
Total time: 35 minutes

**Alphabet abs (yes, I made that one up) is when you get into a jacknife position on the stability ball—arms out in pushup position and tops of your feet on the ball. Move the ball in, out and sideways to write the alphabet with the stability ball. I got to letter “N” before I burned out, but I have made it through the whole thing before.

After my workout, I ran to Targizzle and the Health Food Store (and was surprisingly good in the former and HORRIBLE in the latter… they have so many cool things in there!) and then came home for lunch.

Raw Pumpkin Pie in a Bowl (Natalia Rose recipe)

003_thumb

Salad with fresh herbs, raw apple cider vinegar, grape tomatoes, dulse, bell pepper and sea salt.

005_thumb

All together:

008_thumb

I also made some Classic hummus

009_thumb

And chopped some veggies to take with me to munch after teaching spin while driving to a training appointment.

Since I work super late tonight, I’m thinking the pilot and I will have dessert tonight and the special dinner I have planned tomorrow night. I hate eating late –there’s nothing worse than going to bed, bloated, acidic and pregnant with food child- so I’m going to see if that would be cool with the pilot. Any guesses on what I’m making for dessert?? It includes ice cream 😉

Have a great day, bloggies <3

  10. Joanna on August 18, 2009 at 2:38 pm

you really met him at starbucks?!

  11. Nina on August 18, 2009 at 2:41 pm

    you're making a pizookie!!!

  12. Emily on August 18, 2009 at 2:42 pm

Its your pizookie isn't it!!! 🙂 YUM!

So, I'm going to my first gym class (I won 12 free classes to Healthworks from the healthy living summit) and I have to admit, I'm super nervous. As the gym goddess you are – do you have any advice to calm my nerves!? 🙂

  13. Fitnessista on August 18, 2009 at 3:14 pm

joanna- yup, we met at starbucks. i saw my boss there and told her i thought he was really cute, and she went over to him and told him he should come talk to me! before i knew it, he pulled up a chair, introduced himself and after chatting he asked for my phone number. crazy huh???

emily- don't be nervous!! if i lived there, you know i'd go with you- there's nothing i like more than taking classes at a new gym! just remind yourself that no one there cares about what you're doing. i always tell myself that when i'm in a new place– especially when i'm working out. no one cares about you– it sounds kinda rough but it's totally true, everyone is so focused on what they're doing to worry about anyone else. just relax and enjoy yourself- i'm sure you'll love it!!

  14. Fitnessista on August 18, 2009 at 3:14 pm

ps- a few of you may have guessed the dessert already 😉

I think I'm going to have to invest in the Natalia Rose cookbook… you and Erin always have the most delicious looking eats!

  27. lookingforserenity on August 18, 2009 at 4:31 pm

hmmm. maybe you are making a parfait or something? I dont know.. (:

  28. redhead75 on August 18, 2009 at 4:42 pm

Do they make Indian fried ice cream, like mexican fried ice cream? I guess if they did you'd know about it.

That's my motto…Life is short, eat dessert first!

  29. Katie on August 18, 2009 at 5:01 pm

  32. Sarah (LovIN My Tummy) on August 18, 2009 at 6:14 pm

I was totally going to say Pizookie. Actually I was going to say Pizizzle, but that was confusing.

I read your earlier post too and just loved it. Congratulations you guys!!!

  33. mtbcy on August 18, 2009 at 6:52 pm

Love the wedding pictures! Especially the one of you two dancing! haha! I meant to ask this a few days ago when you posted about the giveaway and your favorite running shorts- what brand are they? I've been in search of a great pair forever. Hope your anniversary dessert is delish!

  34. Ada on August 18, 2009 at 7:03 pm

    I guess a PIZOOKIE!!!!!!

  35. Eatingbirdfood on August 18, 2009 at 7:34 pm

Your wedding photos are so fun… I especially like the one of you and pilot getting down.

Pumpkin Pie in a bowl is pretty much the best soup ever- hands down. The only bad thing is that I always get orange stained lips from eating it. Oh well, it's worth it!!

I think I might have to try your alphabet move tonight- it sounds hardcore.

last but not least hope your dessert turns out to be something delish.

  36. britt on August 18, 2009 at 7:45 pm

congrats on the anniversary! and thanks for sharing more photos.

  37. shelby on August 18, 2009 at 8:08 pm

I love that crunk picture of you two on the dancefloor! So funny!

  38. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on August 18, 2009 at 8:13 pm

Before I even read this post, I already planned my dinner and made my sauce in the Vitamix…and it's a cinnamon/ginger/cumin/ACV dressing, looks very similar to what you made.

Your wedding scenery was beautiful, I assume AZ but it looks like it could be anywhere from northern San Diego up to mid/central coast CA like Santa Barbara. Breathtaking. Gorgeous outdoor weather, the kind you pray for as a bride! And of course, you two looked beautiful…and gettin' crunk was a great choice to post, too!

  39. Amanda on August 18, 2009 at 8:56 pm

Def a pizookie!!!! While youre making one, wanna make another and send it my way?! 🙂

  40. Louise on August 18, 2009 at 9:55 pm

More adorable pics! You two are just the cutest couple I have ever seen. Congratulations on the anniversary! I love photo of your wedding cakes – such a beautiful idea.
