You’re my inspiration board

Hey everyone! Hope your day is going well 😀

I’ve already been robbed of blood.

arm

I’m proud to say I didn’t cry or pass out. The pilot was with me and held my hand, and the tech that did it was a toughie and I was convinced he’d make me do push ups if I was a wuss. So I was brave 😀

Last night after dinner (I’ll post the pics later because the pilot took a few while I was at work), we watched the super chef battle and I finished my inspiration board.

inspiration board

I even bedazzled it with little jewel stickers 😀

I blurred out some of the goals for this year for superstition’s sake –there are 3 very big ones I’d like to focus on this year, but don’t want to jinx myself by telling the world before they’re actually in progress- but I’m sure if you look closely you could figure (almost) all of them out 🙂

So as most of you guys know, an inspiration board is something you create when you want to evoke change in your life. You create a “vision” what you see yourself accomplishing and use it as a daily reminder of your goals. I know that Oprah and Caitlin have made inspiration boards… it’s gotta be a good thing, right?

i will

Here are *some* of the things I will do in 2010:

  1. Continue to blog and increase traffic by 50%

blog

2. Create my own luck (if you want something, you have to go after it!) and look into becoming a personal chef

luck

3. Strengthen… not only my body (as I’ve gotten a little weak in the past year) but my mind and heart as well. I let things affect me easily and need to become a stronger person

strengthen2

4. I will continue to practice yoga, meditate and pray more, love more (not only others, but myself as well) and judge less. I wouldn’t say I’m a judgmental person, but I need to put myself in other people’s shoes more often and try to understand where they’re coming from.

yoga meditate

5. Continue to run and participate in races, because they’re fun and it gives me something to work towards 😀

run

So there you have it 😀

inspiration board

I have no problem looking at that for the next year 😀

Off to lift weights with Jeni –the people at the lab gave me the go-ahead- then a training appointment and teaching my first yoga class. It’s a beginner/int class, but I’m super nervous!

Have a wonderful day!
xoxo,

Gina

Have you ever made an inspiration board?? Get on it- I’d love to see it! 😀

I have come across your blog somehow and i just find it truly uplifting. Right now is the lazy time of year when it is so hard to work out because of the holiday, it’s colder outside. I am starting my inspiration board tonight! I also can’t wait to try some of your recipe ideas.

Good for you for donating! 🙂 So proud of you! 🙂

I love this idea for an inspirational board. Writing down my goals is nice but making an entire board of inspiration is where it is at! I will try to work on one in my spare time.

    Love you girl!

Also wanted to add best of luck with your new responsibilities at the gym! I’m envious you get to teach yoga…it’s a dream of mine but I can’t get in the 200 hours for the first alliance certification here on the island.

It’s beautiful Gina! I’ve never made a board like this, but it seems like a great idea and a really great way to get started on working toward specific goals instead of just thinking about them. Good luck! I am sure you will get that inner and outer strength you want.

I’m not sure if you already post there, or have the time or motivation to join another(?) web community, but there’s a great forum at videofitness.com, if you don’t mind a little fitness dvd chat (or a ton). I bet having your blog address in your signature there would cause some traffic here.

I’ve been a reader for awhile now, but have never left a comment. I just wanted to let you know that your inspiration board is AWESOME!

Your poster is BEAUTIFUL!! A couple of years ago while I was in the midst of my physical transformation I made Vision Boards. I also added 3 months worth of calendar days so that I could count down my 12 week challenges (read Body For LIfe) I have to say they really helped me stay on track and remember why I was getting up at 5:30 am and crawling to the gym. 🙂 Great job!

  18. Jenny on January 6, 2010 at 9:40 am

Your board is awesome Gina! Thank you for being so positive and inspiring!

Oh my gosh, I LOVE THIS!!!! I am going to get right on it and work on mine the rest of this week. Did you use a cork board? I love love love love love this. Ha, can’t wait to put mine together. 🙂 You’re wonderful!

  22. Kailey (SnackFace) on January 6, 2010 at 7:23 pm

G Monay!!! I LOVE inspiration boards! I made one about two years ago, filled with positive images and phrases. A big part of it included my desire to travel and one of the phrases was “New York Story.” Little did I know I would end up spending the summer of 2009 in San Fran and then my 6-week winter break in NYC. Clearly, I’m a firm believer in inspiration boards! 🙂 xoxo

  23. Charlotte on January 6, 2010 at 10:24 pm

Thanks! You inspired me to make a board of my own. I’ve blogged about it here:

  25. Lisa on January 7, 2010 at 4:55 am

Yay!! I’m glad you made it through the blood draw unscathed! 🙂

  26. Sophicita on January 8, 2010 at 1:29 am

What a great idea!!! I have never been a huge fan of New Year’s Resolution since they always had a negative undertone – i.e. look at all the things you have done wrong in the past and now you should really be making more effort. But I love love love the idea of an inspiration board – sounds much more positive! Have started making a list for myself as well and like the idea that you can cover everything from personal life to work life to fitness and the emotional bits! Really enjoy your blog and good luck for 2010!

    Sophicita

P.S. Before your blog I had never tried putting pb on porridge – coming from Germany porridge is a very very very plain affair (sugar and cinnamon, apple or banana slices at the most) – tried my porridge with pb yesterday morning and loved it! Also kept me full much longer than my usual porridge so will definitely have this more often!

First time commenting on your blog, love it! 🙂 And your inspiration board. I made one of my own this weekend, but it isn’t as sparkly as yours. 🙁

I’m super squeamish about needles and blood too. Eeek!

    • Fitnessista on January 9, 2010 at 10:42 am

hi jess! thanks so much for commenting 😀

Sorry I’m so behind with my google reader (I miss your blog! I think I’m going to have to cull some other feeds so I’m not so overwhelmed…). I love your board! It’s fresh and bright. You have inspired me to get started on my own today. I have a branstorm diagram of what I want to achieve in 2010, but something fun and colorful will be so much more inspiring and interesting to look at.
Have a great day Gina, & thank you for sharing yours! ~ I’ll email you mine when done 🙂
