Better the Next Day

Hey guys! Happy Monday 🙂 Hope you enjoyed your weekend! Thank you SO mucho for all of the lovely compliments on the flight dinner party. It was a lot of work, but a total blasty 😉

The rest of our weekend was filled with…

Leftovers:

enchi salad

I had my leftover enchi’s on a bed of spinach, topped with pico

(food almost ALWAYS tastes better the next day… except for fish, blech)

Errands -my laptop still isn’t fixed… Please hurry, Geek Squad

Choc Cherry Bombs:

smoothie

and a trip to the dog park with friends + their fur children.

Check out Bella’s paws:

Filthy!

It was one of those weekends that didn’t feel at all *restful*, but was very, very good 🙂

B-fast:

bfast

Bfast cookie dough cereal with organic strawberries and cacao nibs. Perfection 😀

Well I’m off to my first not-at-flight-med-on-base doc’s appointment. I usually prefer female docs, but today it’s a dude doc. Do you care whether your doctor is male or female??

Then:

-Errands (need to get snacks/groceries for hotlanta this week!)

-Work

-Work out

-More training appointments

See ya this afternoon with the veggie and goat cheese enchilada recipe <3

xoxo

Gina

Today’s workout jam: “You Lost Me” Christina Aguilera (I LOVE this song right now- it’s pretty slow, but would make for an awesome, heavy climb/hills sesh, or a triumphant cool down song)

I doesn’t matter to me if its a girl or guy doc, its just the docs personality mostly. But I gyno exam by a guy miiiight be kinda weird.

Many docs are ill informed on the Fertility Awareness Method.

Sorry, hit the button too son. Taking Charge of Your Fertility is a great book! I have 2 daughters. They will each get a copy someday!

My pediatrician growing up was a male but then I switched to a female doctor (my mom’s doc, actually) because the male doctor couldn’t figure out why I was getting constant stomach cramps after a round of ultrasounds and blood work. The female doctor sent me for more blood work, ultrasounds and a barium swallow and it turns out that I had a stomach ulcer so I was thankful that she was able to find out what was wrong with me. This was going on for nearly 8 years.

For one ultrasound I had a male doing the procedure and he went through every.single.step before he actually did it, I guess to make sure I felt comfortable and knew what was happening and I appreciated it because I did feel kind of weird about it at first. Right now I have a female doc, a female allergy specialist and a male gastroenterologist. They’re the best at what they do so they’re all A-OK with me. Basically, as long as they know what they’re doing, I’m fine with either, but I think for my yearly medical exam it would have to be a female because I feel uncomfortable already with a female checking “things out.”
