Hi guys! HAPPY FRIDAY!!! <3 Hope you have something fun going on this weekend
Last night after work and bootcamp, things got a little messy around here.
It was pizza night!
Peet zuhhhhhhhhh
I LIVE for pizza
We used this mix for the dough, which I bought a while ago and forgot about.
I’m not gluten-free but tend to eat a lot of gluten-free stuff because it’s *usually* healthy and I like to test different things for future gluten-free personal chef clients.
Dough diggity:
(Random trivia: my brother, who is a chef, is also a pizza ninja. He used to work at a gourmet pizza place in Tucson, Magpie’s, and I’d often go harass him for whole wheat veggie pizza after dance class)
While the pizzas were pre-baking, we got out all of our toppings.
Sauce, queso, plump and juicy kalamata olives, organic pepperoni and ham for the Pilot, mushrooms, tomatoes and a green bell pepper

+ salad
I covered my pizza with nooch and red chili flakes, and it was pretty much amazingfacerockinggloriousfantastic.
LOVED the crust- dense and chewy.
Even in all of its glory, this pizza wasn’t quite as good as the deep dish I had in Chicago…
Guess I’ll have to go back?
This morning, I’m off to teach bootcamp and then TurboFire it up, then running errands before heading back to work.
I’m out like sauerkraut <3
xoxo

Mmmm, that makes me want to make some pizza stat. I need to work on my homemade crust though- I braved the kitchen and made my own whole wheat dough one time and I felt like it was too dry and lacking the flavor you get with store bought crusts or pizza from actual pizzerias. Annnnyways, I hope you have a lovely Friday!
I really enjoy your posts.
You seem to be a very happy young woman and that warms my heart. Could you help me out with something. What does this mean…”<3"? I see it on your site and many others. I am a bit older and less experienced with the web and I can't figure out what it means. Cheers, Kirsten
it’s a sideways heart
Omigosh, I totally agree. I’m not a pizza person by any means, but I once had this deep dish (more like a pie) pizza in Chicago….I still dream of it. And I too will come back for it someday.
I love Aldous Huxley! I read “Brave New World” in high school and proclaimed it the best novel ever. I thought he was genius.
I also think pizza is genius, though, so take that with a grain of salt!
Mmm. Salty pizza…
I had no idea Bob’s Red Mill makes a pizza crust mix! I need to keep my eye out for that!
I have been wanting to make my own pizza dough, but a lot of the recipes call for yeast. I have never baked with yeast and it makes me a little nervous. I will look out for that brand and try. YOur pizza looks delish and very drool worthy.
That’s definitely my favorite crust to use(I am gluten free). It’s a great option because it’s made with whole grains whereas gf pizza doughs are usually made with white rice. I like to add a tablespoon of dried Italian herbs to any crust for that extra flavor.
