Random Treasures

in Dinner,snack,something to talk about,workout

Hey hey hey :D How’s your night going?? I’m so glad ya’ll are excited to follow along with Ron’s vegan bodybuilding progress. I think it will be really easy for him to keep his muscle mass using plant-based protein :)

Today was filled with lots of packing, but the bonus of moving is finding random treasures along the way.

A few:

stuff

A Target nametag (was in management at Target for the few months we lived in Fayetteville), a food journal (one of many I found- so interesting to see how my eats and workouts have changed over the years), Wicked tickets (from last May) and a dance camp CD (circa summer 2003).

Since so many of you were curious about my outlet buys on Sunday, here are the goods :D

Shirts from Lucky to chill in (super sale! I paid $15 for BOTH shirts)

shirts

lululemon outfit:

lulu

The pants are the softest, most beautiful fabric I’ve ever encountered. I want to wrap myself in a lululemon pant cocoon. As far as the sports bra goes, I LOVE it. Perfect level of support and they have so many fun colors.

and my new love:

purse (2)

I’ve never really rocked the clear thing before, but fell in love with the bag. When the Pilot agreed that it was awesome and offered it as a little gifty with the wallet, I had to do it ;)

After packstravaganza, I took a Zumba class that Jessica was teaching – she’s co-teaching the Zumbathon with me this weekend :) It was a BLASTY!

I shook my booty for an hour, then went with the Pilot on a date to Two Friends.

The usual portabella mushroom with goat cheese and balsamic glaze:

mushroom

The Pilot had a bacon, candied pecan and bleu cheese flatbread:

Cheers :)

clinky

For my entree, I ordered the same thing I got on our anniversary- Peruvian oven roasted tilapia with a lemon vinaigrette + asparagus

fish

The Pilot had breaded pork tenderloin with bacon and creamy cheese grits.

pork

We were happy kids :D

Apparently I didn’t get enough carbs today though, because when we got home I was still HANGRY. Munched a piece of bread and a banana to quell the beast ;)

Off to cuddle with the puppers.

xoxo,

Gina

See ya in the AM with a crazy awesome Glass straw promo :)

Wahoo, glass straws!! I’ve been waiting! Those grits look amazing…I am craving carbs so bad right now. Can’t decide if it’s necessary or I just want them. :)

Wow, great loot! I love the bag too! I need a Pilot to buy me things :)

It is so fun to stumble upon memories (and to go outlet shopping). I’ve been purging my room lately, and come across so many forgotten items. My favorite things are those that were given to me by my grandparents.

If only Lulu was more friendly on the budget; I think then I would have a full closet full. Such a cute outfit.

Gah, you are making me want to pour my paycheck into Lululemon.. I pass it every night on the way home from my gym, and I really want one of their gym bags now. SO cute. Hopefully the quality of their products matches their prices. ;-) Have a great night!

Cute Lulu outfit! I have that tank in blue!

Maissa September 8, 2010 at 11:25 pm

I love the lulu stuff. Aren’t their pants the absolute most amazing things ever? I live in them. I started collecting when I moved to Canada about five years ago and now it is rare that I wear anything but lulu pants unless I actually have somewhere to be. It’s ok because I live in Vancouver and on any given day 90% of the population is dressed in lululemon… And now you know why I love this city.

Your dinner looks awesome, particularly that appetizer. Yum!

Laury @ thefitnessdish September 8, 2010 at 11:33 pm

I am SO jelly of your Lulu outfit. That sports bra looks SO soft and comfy!!! And, Wizard of Oz is probably one of my FAVORITE movies of ALL time…I thought I WAS Dorothy when I was little, recited the movie from start to finish, watched ; However, I have YET to see Wicked. It makes me sad. I read the book…but that’s not enough!

Faith @ lovelyascharged September 8, 2010 at 11:44 pm

LOVE the Lulu top! There are no words to describe!!!

Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) September 9, 2010 at 12:12 am

Congrats on the purse and wallet! If EVER there is a time to buy designer handbags it’s when you’re a DINK (double income, no kids). Thank god I bought many handbags in my DINK days. Lol

The lulu outfit is super cute! I own a few pieces and they never fit me right, the pants that I have of theirs, so I never reach for them. Sigh, I wish they did tho b/c they were a small fortune as you know.

Those 2 for $15 t’s…LOVIN the indian vibe going on with them…so cool!

Deals lately? So weird, yes I carry a Chanel bag and have a nice car and love nice things but lately I go to Buffalo Exchange. It’s a recycled clothing store. Been finding tags-still-on Juicy Couture, Marc Jabobs, Free People, all kinds of Seven, Citizens, Betsy Johsnon, you name it..nothing more than $20 and most of it’s like 8 or 10 bucks. CHEAP thrills. And it’s all been presorted and there is nothing scuzzy at the Buff Ex I go to. And I sell stuff there too. It’s like a revolving fashion door, I dig it :)

Fitnessista September 9, 2010 at 9:55 am

buffalo exchange is one of the things i miss most about tucson! i would recycle clothes ALL the time :)
DINK- totally going to use that. and live it up buy buying as many purses and jeans as possible ;)

Reply

Stefanie @thenewhealthy September 9, 2010 at 12:57 am

^DINK, I’ve never heard that, but I love it! lol

Also love the lululemon outfit. If their pants are as comfortable as you (and others) say, then Lululemon just may be involved in my next splurge! In fact, there is a store right next a FroYo shop I love. Double trouble. ;)

As for treasures, I love finding any old burned CD’s–songs always bring back great memories. And it’s interesting how I can still remember the words to songs that I haven’t heard for YEARS!

Maria @ Oh Healthy Day September 9, 2010 at 1:46 am

I have those Lulu crops…seriously, they should just change all of their pants to that material. And make sheets out of it.

Reply

Fitnessista September 9, 2010 at 9:54 am

if they made sheets out of the material, i would be so happy :)

Lauren @ BIOCHEMISTA September 9, 2010 at 2:12 am

I love lululemon too! I never really could figure out what the big deal was until recently! I even did my own lululemon challenge to see why their stuff was so great! ha ha….it passed of course and now I am in love with their things.

I love finding old food journals of mine! Boy, how my meals have changed over the years! My mom told me she recently found an old workout-log of mine from when I was in junior-high–> I didn’t even realize how long I had paid attention to this kinda stuff! Crazy.

I’m so excited to hear about the glass straw promo! I love my glass straws, and think I need to send some to my parents! :)

With Ron only following this diet for two weeks and I am assuming he will still be doing his regular strength training…would it even be possible to lose muscle mass in that short amount of time, even if he were eating total crap?

Reply

Fitnessista September 9, 2010 at 9:50 am

yes he’ll be doing his regular workouts and because he has SO much muscle, it will be easier to see if he loses or maintains muscle mass

Reply

Stacey September 9, 2010 at 2:52 pm

Interesting idea. I’m excited to see the results….if his stats stay the same maybe you could convInce him to stick with it for a few more weeks?

Reply

jenna September 9, 2010 at 9:21 am

i’m so in love with your new yoga pants! do you by chance know what they are called? I tried finding them on their website..but since you got them at the outlet i’m not sure if they are even online. love your new bag too! sweet!

I LOVE that workout outfit. The racerback tank is very in right now.

Recently, I gave away a knock off brown leather coach purse with “cross body” straps. It had been given to me by a friend years ago, and I never used it, so I figured I’d give it to goodwill. Now all of a sudden, I’ve been craving a cross body purse, I see girls with them everywhere and it looks super cute. Oh well, at least someone else gets to walk around lookin cute in my purse : )

Reply

Allison September 9, 2010 at 4:20 pm

Oh i love wicked:):):) I saw it back in 2007 with my sister who was a theater major:)

Lulumon=love (+ too expensive for a broke college student)

Did Bella have surgery recently? I have a Havanese that looks so much like your dog … she had surgery a few weeks ago and the iv during surgery required a little shaving.

She’s so sweet !
