Friday Fail + Fall Fashion

by Fitnessista on October 2, 2010

in blah,fashion friday,lunch

Hi guys!! How are ya?? Yup, I’m a late night blogger owl tonight ;) I was so excited because I took my netbook to blog on my lunch break.. and then it took my entire break to install Live Writer, which ended up not even working. Fail. But I’m here now :)

Some non-fails:

roons

A dehydrator full of macaroons

A fun bento lunch:

bento

Including a wrap with fresh homemade hummus and leftover veggies from my lunch with my twins

wrap

Being notified that I made it to round 3 of the Project Food Blog Challenge- thank you SO much to everyone for voting! <3

Goat’s milk yogurt:

yogurt

(if you haven’t tried this yet, I totally recommend it. Goat dairy is much easier for me to digest than cow’s dairy, and the flavor rocks my face off- tangy and not too sweet)

Larabar:

The fact that fall weather is HERE, along with sweaters and jackets :D

For this week’s Fashion Friday post, I thought it would be fun to focus on fall outwear.

To be honest, I’m not much of a *fall* girl. I love the weather, but don’t really dress up when it gets cold. Hoodies, athletic pants and flip flops are kinda the uniform over here, unless I have a dinner or event to go to.

Here are some non-scrubby things I’m loving this season:

image Express

image Express (I’ve posted this jacket for a Fashion Friday before and am still obsessed with it)

image Topshop

image Forever21

image Saks

What outerwear pieces are you loving right now?? Are you a fall/winter girl or a summer girl??

It’s way later than my bedtime, so I’m off to sleep, but I’ll see ya in the morning <3

xoxo

Gina

Why are we still up right now?!

The Topshop jacket reminds me of the one Serena was wearing in the latest episode!

Seriously, why ARE we still up!?

I want to try goat’s milk yogurt SO badly but my wallet cries every time I even just look at it. I need a goat in my life. Slash I need to go to bed :)

I’m a simple girl, and maybe not so fashion-forward, but I love me some cardigans! Does this mean I’m lazy and cheap because I can wear my summer tops all year long? Probably so, but I accept that. I’m working a wine festival tomorrow. :D I plan on wearing a plain t-shirt, jeans, and a chunky sweater cardigan to keep me warm. I LOVE fall! I’ve lived in Virginia forever and this is the most beautiful time of year here. My backyard is sprinkled with yellow leaves and I’m happy as can be.

Glad your Orlando stay has been good so far! Maybe I’ll catch you during the hot second I’m there in November?!

I love cardigans too!

You guys are funny. I like that you are all up and posting though. It gets lonely being on the other side of the world when no one else is awake!

Congrats on making it to round 3, hottie! Earth tones are in for fall fashion over here ;) Maybe save a macaroon or two? Love you

I am a Spring/Fall girl! I love the in-betweens! As for Fall clothing, I am loving fly-aways and fitted jackets. Especially in army green and khaki!

Amanda October 2, 2010 at 1:48 am

Great pics! And i’ll have to try that goat’s milk yogurt.

One thing, though– “Schmuck” is quite an offense term to some. It’s used sometimes in colloquial speech, but it’s actually quite an intense and offensive word. I would just be a little careful who you say it around…

Reply

Fitnessista October 2, 2010 at 8:35 am

thanks for letting me know- i said it casually and NEVER meant it to be offensive. i changed it.

I am loving the peeks into your lunchbox! And I looooove that last purple coat but can only love it from afar because I imagine it is $$$$! I am definitely a summer girl, living in LA where we could show up on the first day of school in tank tops and shorts has spoiled me!

I made a mental note I need to get a lace top/shirt and military pants…! I see it every where now!

Girl nothing worse than computer software installs! They take FOREVER and seem to just go on and on and on…and sucks that it didnt even work for you! ugh. I have wanted to install live writer before but since I run a Mac, I’d have to install a program like Parallels that would let me run PC Software on a Mac which is it’s own huge program, and THEN still install livewriter.

Do you think livewriter is the end all be all? I mean, is it that good? Just getting your professional blogger opinion on it!

I am a fall girl ONLY b/c I like sweaters. I actually hate wearing jeans b/c i never have any that fit me properly no matter how hard i try. I live in my Be Present pants and flips. And chunky sweaters. Im sure Im mistaken for a bag lady LOL

:)

live writer will change your life- not even joking. it took my post-writing time from 2 hours down to 30 min- an hour

Love fall/winter clothes. I just feel like you can dress up way more and there is more variety/options!

Reply

Katie October 2, 2010 at 6:47 am

Those macaroons look awesome! :)

I love most all of the seasons fashion except for spring. Fall is definitely number one and I can’t wait to wear leggings with over sized (light weight) sweaters and boots, but I also love wearing summer dresses with sexy flippie floppies or heals.

Wow – you were quite the night owl last night!!

I just scored an eggplant colored corduroy blazer from the jcrew outlet that I’m super excited about. I haven’t had a chance to wear it yet, but it’s getting chilly in VA so I’ll be wearing it soon I’m sure!

Fall is my favorite season, fashion and otherwise… Not gonna lie, my favorite new fashion piece so far is the Lululemon Flashback pullover that I scored after seeing you rock it :)

I’m in MN so guess what: I like Fall and Winter :)

I love long sweaters and I will forever love pea coats — the last one I had was bright red and I loved it. I hope to get a better one this season!

I wish I could find goats milk yogurt where I live! I did find goat cheese at the grocery store yesterday and thought of your blog lol. The fall looks I’m lovin right now are cardigans with tights and boots. It is so comfortable it should be a sin!

Pumpkin shake is the perfect recovery drink for after an extensive hike (my fall fad workout)! Up North the weather is VERY fall (boarderline winter) and the flavor of the pumpkin is very satisfying and appropriate :)

Q: How do you feel about unsweetened Spiru-tein, its a high protien engergy meal, GLuten Free and no GMO?! I cant find Sun Warior

I love the big sweater jackets that are 100% cotton. Plus the cowboy boots are adorable, I grabbed my pair about 2 months ago.

I love both seasons. Eventually towards the end of each I do get sick of what the weather like and want it to change! Definitely with the holidays around the corner I love this time of the year ;)

I love express too!! i love summer but also love the change into fall, i’m getting into the whole wide leg pants! love them…i went to whole foods the other day and saw your bento box!! and am now seriously thinking of getting one! also saw the goat’s milk yogurt…i tried goat’s milk from trader joe’s…has that gamey-ness to it. i do heart goat milk cheese, and still trying to get used to goat milk yogurt. i am lactose intolerant so i think it’d be best i eat goat’s milk yog, esp bc it’s easier to digest.

I’m obsessed with fall and sweaters. I look forward to fall just so that I can wear sweaters. One office I was working at several years ago had perma-heat so I could never wear any sweaters. I got away with short-sleeves every day and the one time I wore a sweater, one of my co-workers correctly guessed that I had a cold. I’ve already bought 6 sweaters and one coat this fall. The coat was actually from the childrens section at H&M but I swear it could pass for womens adultwear. The BF said I HAD to get it, lol.
