If you give a girl a day off…

She’ll buy new shoes

and then, she’ll want to go to yoga.

yoga

Then, she’ll remember that Harry Potter is out and decide to go to that instead.

After contemplating the large crowds and abundance of people dressed like wizards, she’ll look down and realize it’s time for a manicure and pedicure.

nails

That ends up being a very good decision 🙂

The nail tech asks her if she’d like her eyebrows waxed. Despite the fact that she could potentially end up having a “Mama took my eyebrows” experience, she rolls with it, and that too ends up being a good decision 😉

She eats random meals:

sweet potato

popcorn

Takes a nap:

dogs

Does laundry and makes a packing list:

Heads to lift weights and take a spin class

and remembers it’s girls night.

For the first time all week, she has time to stop, take a sigh of relief and get stoked for the night ahead.

See ya in the morning <3

I love your nail color and what a rock you have!!! Do you have your rings soldered together? Just curious.

    Enjoy your girls’ night!

On my days off I like to get in a good workout, spend some time reading or watching a movie and just spend time with myself. Nothing too strenuous 🙂

For some reason, reading this just totally relaxed me. It’s been a crazy day at work, so thank you! I’m off to bake 3 different types of cookies to send in my fiance’s care package overseas. I will be loved by many over there for sending home baked treats 🙂

  8. Alison (Ali on the Run) on November 19, 2010 at 4:44 pm

I had a day off today, too! It started with sleeping in, followed by a long run, a Whole Foods trip, some soup, a whole lotta couch sitting and getting caught up on life, then dinner with the BF and a Broadway show. Not a bad day! (Except that I have a cold, yuck.)

  9. Stefanie on November 19, 2010 at 4:44 pm

Sounds like a great day off! And I love the nail color! 🙂

I had today off and I was a baking MACHINE!

  26. mm on November 19, 2010 at 7:26 pm

I like to read, get coffee, get a massage if at all possible, and get a workout of some sort in. I’m going to see Harry Potter tonight, and I’m definitely not looking forward to fighting the crowds at the theater at 8:00, but I’m still looking forward to the movie! Also – Your ring and my ring are basically identical! 🙂

  27. Maren on November 19, 2010 at 7:30 pm

I seriously love that nail color! (and that beautiful ring!!) Do you know what the color is called?

  28. CaSaundra on November 19, 2010 at 7:48 pm

    I love your rings!!

  30. Megan @ Healthy Hoggin' on November 19, 2010 at 7:58 pm

Sounds like a fun day! I’m hoping the Harry Potter lines die down by Sunday afternoon… that’s as long as I can stand to wait!

On my days off, I like to give myself a little mani/pedi at home, listen to Christmas music, and sign up for workout classes that I can’t make on a work day. 😉

  31. Regina on November 19, 2010 at 8:18 pm

Where on earth did you get that beautiful mug?!

    • Fitnessista on November 19, 2010 at 10:12 pm

      it’s my aunt’s! i love her snowflake mugs 🙂

  32. Jenn @ LiveWellFitNow on November 19, 2010 at 8:41 pm

Gorgeous nail color! Harry Potter is calling my name…

Day off? Nails, friends, coffee treat, sweat fest, homecooked meal that includes baked goods. Snuggle with the man.

  33. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on November 19, 2010 at 8:56 pm

Your mani looks great; your ice looks even better 🙂 Holy rock shot! love it!

On my day off, I’d like to sit on the couch eating bonbons all day, having my feet rubbed by a team of masseueses while my personal chef peels my grapes….

    …and until that happens…LOL

If I could just enjoy a lovely yoga class or a power walk in the fresh air, and a meltdown-free preschooler kind of day…then I have scored 🙂

  34. Mary @ Bites and Bliss on November 19, 2010 at 9:08 pm

I;ve heard the new HP movie is soooo good! I really want to see but think I’ll waitfor the fanatics to lighten up a bit before heading to the theater 😛

  35. Georgie on November 19, 2010 at 9:15 pm

I am not sure yet what I do on my days off because since I started working in July (I graduated last may) I have yet to have a day off!!!!

  36. Imwaytoobusy on November 19, 2010 at 9:43 pm

What a cute post! My perfect day off would be 1) my body letting me sleep in for once, 2) aimless food shopping, 3) and some serious bonding-time with the boyfriend. Yeah, I’d take that day 🙂

  37. Lauren @ Fun, Fit and Fabulous! on November 19, 2010 at 9:45 pm

I had today off too, and spent a good hour+ wondering around Whole Foods. So many times I’m in too much of a hurry to take my time, so it was nice to just browse!

  38. Molly on November 19, 2010 at 9:47 pm

Your nails look great! On my days off, I hit up B&N for coffee and reading, then do a little bit of shopping. Totally laid back and relaxed… makes me excited for Thanksgiving break!

  39. Kiran on November 19, 2010 at 10:13 pm

I love random enjoyment of life 🙂 something we do without planning, for a change! Enjoy your night out 🙂

  40. Erica on November 19, 2010 at 11:17 pm

On my days off I usually hang around the house, de-clutter and maybe work in a little shopping.

  45. Karen W. (WrightLifeTCM) on November 20, 2010 at 2:19 am

OK, so I swear I am not a dog- stalker. I really enjoy your blog, but for some reason I only comment about Bella. She just gets me good! She is even uber-adorable out of focus! I’d like to put in a suggestion for a bella-blog, lol! BTW excellent nail polish color choice.

    • Fitnessista on November 20, 2010 at 8:41 am

      thank you!
bella said thank you, too. she is a sassy little thing 😉

    • Fitnessista on November 20, 2010 at 8:41 am

thank you! we both picked them 🙂

  47. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on November 20, 2010 at 8:18 am

  48. Gracie on November 20, 2010 at 9:26 am

I LOVE this post! The photo of your pups put an especially big smile on my face 🙂

  49. Holly on November 20, 2010 at 6:58 pm

GAHHHH! I still can’t get over HOW gorgeous your ring is! I absolutely love it. Did you buy it as a set? Did you add the top one after you were together for a certain period or did you just get both bands initially?

    • Fitnessista on November 20, 2010 at 8:53 pm

thank you!! he got the engagement ring when we got engaged and we got the bands right before we got married a year later
