My frosting runneth over

Hey guys! How are you? Hope you’re having a fabulous Saturday so far! <3

Last night was pretty lovely.

First, I took a class at the Ritz-Carlton:

chandelier ritz

At work, we have a BINGO board in the break room with different community fitness classes on each spot. Taking a class at the Ritz-Carlton was the last one in the row for me to get BINGO, so I went for it 🙂 A friend’s husband teaches there and since it was only me and another girl, we did a cardio hip hop class. It was a lot of fun 🙂

After working out, which was lovely, I met up with these two ladies for dinner, which was lovelier 🙂

katyandmeghann

Katy and Meghann!!

We dined at The Virgin Olive Market– a cute healthy deli in downtown Orlando.

(Be nice or leave?? Haha)

I ordered the hummus platter, with no cheese or pita. The manager asked if I wanted avocado since I wasn’t getting the other two options. Would I like avocado? Is the pope Catholic?

salad

It was amazing. The hummus was super garlicky, too- just the way I like it 😀

I caught up with the girls and we also chatted with the manager, who is going to do his Zumba cert in a couple of weeks! So awesome.

And then, dessert happened. 😉

cupcakes

Banana nut cupcakes with overflowing coconut frosting.

cupcake

I love frosting… and when there’s more than the cupcake can handle, it makes me so happy 😀

We closed the place down and will definitely be having another dinner night when I get back from Tucson.

girls

This morning, I’m off to booty shake at Dance Trance then off to work!
Enjoy your day <3

xoxo

Today’s tip: During your next aerobics class, make an effort to keep your abs contracted while you workout.  It’s easy to get focused on the choreography and neglect the abbies, but if you make a conscious effort to flex them during your class, you’ll get in a bonus abs workout.

When you take your temp under arm, is that the accurate temp? I heard you add a degree. Also what thermometer do you use? Thanks!

What a neat idea your work came up with re: fitness classes around the city.

So fun to read Bingo this morning on your blog — I went to Turkey Bingo last night 🙂

I’m not a fan of coconut, but that overflowing frosting looks amazing! I sure hope the cupcake was good and not just covered in frosting to mask the taste!

  6. salah@myhealthiestlifestyle on November 20, 2010 at 10:16 am

I am the exact same way….when the frosting to cupcake ratio is 2:1, I am a very happy girl!! haha….I always make sure when i’m teaching spin to remind my class throughout the whole workout to keep their abs contracted! They always end up getting a total body workout 🙂

Frosting is the best part, obvi!

  8. Emma (Sweet Tooth Runner) on November 20, 2010 at 11:02 am

Mmm that frosting…I would be happy just eating that without the cake bit! 😛

  9. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on November 20, 2010 at 11:09 am

I love to eat only the frosting…it’s soooooo good 🙂 Who wants the cake part when you can just eat frosting?

    • Fitnessista on November 20, 2010 at 1:49 pm

cake is just a vehicle for frosting

DUDE. I’m actually not a huge frosting fan, but that coconutty business is something I could get into. 😉

P.S. Hiiiii, Gina! Been M.I.A. from blogworld for a good long while – felt like a random comment without acknowledging my absense would be…random. 🙂

    • Fitnessista on November 20, 2010 at 1:47 pm

  16. Megan @ Healthy Hoggin' on November 20, 2010 at 12:59 pm

I love my cupcakes like that, too! The more frosting the better. It’s great when I eat dessert with my husband, too, because he hates the frosting… just means more for me! (that’s why we’re a good match) 😉

Love the Bingo board idea! Your work sounds awesome.

  17. Mary @ Bites and Bliss on November 20, 2010 at 2:14 pm

The cupcake with the FROSTING! Yay for frosting….I recently posted about how I like a little cupcake or piece of cake with my frosting 🙂

Yoga at the Ritz. Nice. Wow!!! Looks lovely! Bingo…havent played bingo in…decades. haha!

I always try to contract my abs too, but thanks for the reminder.

    Enjoy your day!
    🙂

Tell me about the Bingo board! That sounds awesome! Is it community related? “Prizes” involved? Sounds like a great way to get us in the community! (If you wanna email or gchat back instead, totally fine!)

    • Fitnessista on November 20, 2010 at 4:05 pm

yup, community-related and there are prizes! it’s a fun way to check out new classes

  20. Stephanie @ LungesandLunch on November 20, 2010 at 4:23 pm

You should come out for dessert with me! I hate the frosting lol We’d both end up happy 😉

    • Fitnessista on November 20, 2010 at 8:53 pm

      sounds like a date 🙂

  21. Moni'sMeals on November 20, 2010 at 5:45 pm

I agree with the frosting. What a deal you got on yours!

Great tip about the abs, I would say just about everyone can forget to engage them during activities where so much movement is going on. Good reminder. 🙂

  22. Sana on November 20, 2010 at 5:55 pm

I adore cupcakes! They are the perfect serving size as well

  23. Christin@purplebirdblog on November 20, 2010 at 7:17 pm

Frosting makes the world go ’round! 🙂

  24. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on November 20, 2010 at 7:17 pm

I think it should be mandatory that there always be more frosting than cupcake. 😉 Or better yet, just give me a cup of frosting with some chunks of cupcake in it!

  25. CaSaundra on November 20, 2010 at 7:25 pm

Those look lovely! I love cupcakes, any flavor really!! Kind of random question, but I know you probably have a business suit–I need to get one and was just wondering where you recommend I go?!

  26. Faith @ lovelyascharged on November 20, 2010 at 8:51 pm

  29. Melissa on November 21, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Oh, Fun! I was just at the Ritz last week… I will be there again in January I will have to check out that class.
I’m in the frosting camp of way to SHweet for me. But I do happen to love that peanut butter frosting rescipe you posted a while back. I have made that several times. It’s now my go to recipe.

Have a good Thanksgiving and safe travels!
