Pre-work shake

Hey friends hey Open-mouthed smile How’s your morning going?

Mine has been bueno- I started if off with a long walk with Bella.

bella

We walked around the park for 30 minutes-ish –even trotted a little bit, just because her little jog is so cute- and then came back to my aunt’s to grab b-fast and pack up work snackage.

Breakfast cookie dough cereal:

cereal

With blueberries and maca

Work eats:

snacks

A salad beast with goat gouda chunks, garlic gold, dulse and tomatoes

A Sun Warrior smoothie (promo tomorrow!)

and brown rice toast with gooey cashew butter, more frozen blueberries

toast

and a tea. Not too shabby Smile

I packed everything up and hit up a Latin Cardio class before heading to work.

It’s funny because in Valdosta, when I taught Zumba, it was in a small racquetball court.

Here, it’s in a basketball court:

latin cardio

and PACKED. So fun Smile

I had to leave halfway through but it was fun to booty shake a little before doing the work thang. I’m off the next four days in a row!!! The plan is to visit Jeni in Valdosta and pick up Vies, and then figure out my life Winking smile

Hope you’re having a beautiful and relaxing Sunday!

xoxo,

Gina

Today’s workout jam:Dog Days Are Over” Florence and the Machine. I’ve been obsessed with this song for cardio for the past month (?) or so- if you haven’t heard it yet, it’s definitely worth downloading or checking out on YouTube.

ooh, do you bring your lunch to work in a small lulu bag? That’s what I use for my lunch bag, and it’s perfect! Also, looks like your smoothie is in a glass lock container. I have some square ones and love them, but I’ve never seen this type of cup container… I want one…. must research that!

Sounds like a good start to the morning! I’d like to try rice bread soon since I’ve been trying to cut gluten down/out of my diet lately. Any good brand recommendations? Have a safe trip to Valdosta!

I love that you get your booty shaing in when you can! I have taken classes in a b-ball court before, but I miss having the mirror to make sure I am not totally lost!

The only times I’ve ever tried Zumba, I absolutely hated it. I think it had to do with the teacher, though..maybe she wasn’t exactly certified in it? Because it seems like everyone else loves it. I’ll have to give it a try somewhere else that actually is certified!

I love that song as well! They were on Saturday night live a couple of weeks ago and sang this song. Great!

Question – have you read Crazy Sexy Diet? Have you checked out Crazysexylife.com? If so, what do you think about either? Can you comment on transitioning from a traditional diet (red meat, typical American diet) to a non-traditional diet like what you follow? I’m on the verge of converting to a Vegetarian diet (not sure I can do Vegan 100%, I can cut out some things pretty easily though) and need advice on the transition (family expectations, body responses, things to consider before doing so). Any help would be cool.

    • Fitnessista on November 28, 2010 at 9:02 pm

      hey karen,
i’m a huge fan of crazysexylife. i think the most important thing to remember when you change your eating habits is to think about why you’re doing it. if you’re doing it for the right reasons, what others say about it won’t bother you as much. one of my biggest tips is to avoid preaching to others about why you’re doing the things you do- you can say “for health reasons” or “for ethical reasons” and change the subject. when people don’t feel like they have to defend themselves, they’ll be less likely to make snide comments.
      hope this helps a little!!
