Kickin’ the List

Hi friends! How are you??

I ninja kicked my to-to list today Smile

me

Ka POW!

The Pilot (aka Amazon.com King) sent me a tripod to use for my Workout Move of the Week videos– I filmed one earlier today that should be up Friday morning.

tripod

Nothing like filming yourself in a park with random onlookers, haha. I’m excited to do more vlogging action and short workout videos! Let me know if you have any requests <3

Lunch was a dip into the cashew butter jar (first sprinkling vegan chocolate chips in) and this incredible edible omelet:

omelet

-1 organic egg and 2 egg whites

-spinach and arugula

-hunk of sliced goat gouda

-topped with hummus

Amazing Smile

I ran errands, did almost everything I needed to do today (which was a boatload), and made dinner to take the Dance Trance.

dal

Dal with millet, carrots and tomatoes

A perfect Indian Food Wednesday celebration Smile

Now I’m at Bizzle, sipping on Refresh tea and even though I LOVE the holiday cups, the so-called snowmen on them upset me.

cup

No carrot nose and mittens instead of stick arms?? Fail. Haha.

Hope you guys have a beautiful night and Happy Hannukah to those who start celebrating this evening. <3

xoxo,

Gina

Something to read: The miracle fruit! Have any of you heard of this?? Suzanne posted this via the comment section yesterday and it blew my mind!

LOL!!! That is so funny how you do your random Ninja kicks in the park. I should ask for a tripod for the holidays–I usually put my DSLR on a set of books in my condo to show off my Ninja moves 😉

  2. Courtney @ Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life on December 1, 2010 at 8:17 pm

Hahaha, love your ninja kick, Gina! 🙂

  8. Erin (Travel, Eat, Repeat) on December 1, 2010 at 9:25 pm

I have a mini tripod for my camera and have never used it — can you believe it? Thought it would be so handy but somehow I never got around to carrying it around. :/

  9. Sarah S-F on December 1, 2010 at 9:29 pm

Ha ha – your shadow in the first pic is amazing! Too funny! Looks like a little video fighter woman.

  10. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on December 1, 2010 at 9:32 pm

Love the action shot of you doing the ninja kick! I need to borrow your photographer, whoever it is! If you do that as a self timer i am beyonnnnnnd impressed! Or i guess you can get it off the video as a still, but however you do it, it’s awesome 🙂

Glad you kicked your to-do list!

I am still working on mine and will be up til 4 or 5am to finish it all!

Thanks for the Hanukkah wishes. We are celebrating (loosely!) here.

    🙂

  18. Kelly Michelle on December 1, 2010 at 10:32 pm

yes i’ve heard of that fruit and am dying to try it!! I actually emailed the guy (since I’m in Miami) and he said you can go buy them there at the farm but I haven’t had the chance yet! I had kind of forgotten about it! Also if you do the tour in Disney where you go on the boat and see the greenhouses the miracle fruit is one of the things they are growing.

  19. salah@myhealthiestlifestyle on December 1, 2010 at 10:33 pm

I still got a lot kickin’ to do to my to do list

I love super productive days! My day was also very productive too. I saw that article yesterday, I’m not sure how I feel. It could get more people to eat their broccoli, but I actually like the taste of broccoli.

  23. mi-an dela cruz on December 2, 2010 at 1:23 am

    nice kick ass shot!!!

  24. Shilpa on December 2, 2010 at 2:25 am

haha I had NO idea that those were snowmen!! I just thought they were weird looking people. It makes more sense now, though. But seriously, they could have been WAY cuter 🙂

  25. grocery goddess jen on December 2, 2010 at 6:08 am

I remember reading about that fruit one time before, but had forgotten about it. Can you imagine? Feed one to your kids (or self) and then they chow down on a giant plate of veggies and they think it tastes like candy?

  26. Casey Thomas on December 2, 2010 at 6:24 am

Love the ninja photo and look forward to the vid!

  27. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on December 2, 2010 at 8:24 am

  28. RhodeyGirl on December 2, 2010 at 8:35 am

I LOVE the mittens!!!! Sadly, though, I would have never even noticed the cup had you not mentioned it. When I go to Starbucks I am so excited for my drink I don’t even pay attention! I must stop doing that!!!!!

Can’t wait to see your video!

  29. Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman on December 2, 2010 at 8:38 am

Oh to have been an onlooker at the park. 🙂

  30. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on December 2, 2010 at 8:59 am

Hahaha you’re awesome to film yourself in the park! I’m embarrassed even to take pics at a restaurant! 😛

can you come kick my to-do list too?

      hi yah!

  33. Amanda on December 2, 2010 at 9:47 am

thought of you when I saw this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/the-sweet-beet/food-facts_b_789417.html#s185440

did you know “raw” almonds aren’t actually raw?? (see above link). Apparently they’re pasteurized in the US…

    • Lisa on December 2, 2010 at 11:35 am

So, random, but my boyfriend is a nut broker and his family owns almond orchards in Norther California. They sell nuts at the farmer’s market in SF and we used to sell some almonds there that were truly raw and organic straight from their ranch. But, if they are sold commercially (like to whole foods), all US nuts are pasteurized first (and I think they now have to be pasteurized for farmer’s markets too). They have to do it because it kills bacteria in the nuts and they had problems with salmonella. You might be interested to know that they either steam them or spray them with a chemical called PPO, and those sprayed with PPO are considered raw. Apparently certain select varieties of almonds can be sold raw (he said spanish organic), though I have no idea where you get those (somewhere in the CA valley I assume). I guess there is also some new technology where they can flash steam the nuts so as to kill the bacteria but not cook the nut, so you might be able to get real “raw” nuts in the near future. …Sorry for writing a book, we always have a lot of nut talk going on in our house 🙂

    • Fitnessista on December 2, 2010 at 1:12 pm

yup 🙂 no big deal though- i’d much rather have slightly blanched nuts (twss? haha) than salmonella fo sho 🙂

  34. Emma on December 2, 2010 at 9:52 am

I’d LOVE if you did a dance/zumba workout video! And bless the Pilot for being so sweet as to buy you a tripod =)

  35. Joanna on December 2, 2010 at 10:29 am

Can the workout move of the week be this Ka-pow ninja move? hehe

  36. J on December 2, 2010 at 10:30 am

I can’t wait to here about your big move!!

  37. Shanna, like Banana on December 2, 2010 at 11:30 am

That coffee cup is a bit confusing/creepy haha

    • Fitnessista on December 2, 2010 at 1:11 pm

isn’t it weird? the *snowman* looks like he’s wailing at the sky

  40. Maren on December 2, 2010 at 3:23 pm

doesn’t that feel just awesome?! I also think it’s funny how starbucks went from starbucks to star-bizzle, to bizzle haha!! I say things like that all the time. I’m from a town call Grand Island and we shortened it to GI pizzle. 🙂 Goofy stuff like that just makes me happy!

    • Fitnessista on December 2, 2010 at 5:34 pm

      me too!!!

  41. Jessica on December 21, 2010 at 12:38 pm
