Heyyyyy hey 🙂 It’s FRIDAY!!

vies

(Viessy has a very hard life) 🙂

What are you up to this weekend?? Hope you have something fun going on! We have my “Detox is Over” party tomorrow night– I’m a little more than excited.

LOVED reading your comments to last night’s post! It’s amazing how things work out the way they’re supposed to 🙂 I’ll be visiting my old Valdizzy stomping grounds in March because Jeni is having her baby… and I want to go snuggle with it 🙂

Today was started off with a smoothie in a bowl + a crumbled amazeball on top

My eats have been lacking in the creative side this week because I’ve been working like a maniac (even though I forget I’m working because I love my jobs so much) and because I’ve been anxiously waiting to hear what our assignment is.

I woke up to an email from the Pilot, and the wondering is over…

We find out NEXT FRIDAY!
I’m at the point right now where I really don’t care *where* we go (but wouldn’t kick Tucson out of bed if ya know what I mean) –I just want to live in the same house as my husband- but would like to know so we can plan. Having a place to live would be a good thing 😉

I’ve been looking at houses here in Tucson and found one that we both love.

Check out these photos from the backyard:

Dinosaur cousins are cuter when they’re babies 😉

It also has a balcony from the master bedroom with mountain views.. Le sigh <3

At least we only have one more week left to wonder!!!

Well, I’m off to work and then teaching my last class of the week.

Have a lovely day and I’ll see ya later with a Fashion Friday post!

SUNDRESS WEATHER 😀

Something to watch: This is an awesome goal-setting video from one of my favorite motivational speakers, Brian Tracy. Try the exercise he describes to see what your significant and important goal is. If you do something everyday in the direction of your goal, it will happen.

So excited for you and the pilot man

  2. LauraJayne on February 18, 2011 at 10:49 am

I’m glad that you’ll find out in a week! I’m thinking you should apply to be on House Hunters… it’s only my favorite show and the second I decide to buy a house to try like crazy to be on it!

    Have a great post-detox party!

  3. Erin @ Big Girl Feats on February 18, 2011 at 10:50 am

Have fun with your Detox party tomorrow! I have been on a restricted diet for a thyroid cancer treatment and tomorrow is my day back to “normal” after 3 weeks. I can’t wait to eat PIZZA! Waiting for news is the hardest part, too. Fingers crossed for you! 🙂

  4. Moni'sMeals on February 18, 2011 at 10:53 am

That backyard is so sweet! That is our next house project, we want to concrete the whole back, less maintenance, easier poo pickup, and a basketball court! My boys love bball.

  10. Holly @ Couch Potato Athlete on February 18, 2011 at 11:15 am

I am so jealous of your warm weather!!! Enjoy it for me!

How nice to finally know what is going on! I’m experiencing a bit of that — Jason’s job might get moved to a new city (which would require us to move) but it might not. And it could happen in 2 weeks, it could happen in 2 months or even 2 years. So I hear you on wanting to be able to PLAN!

  11. Nacho Lindsay on February 18, 2011 at 11:18 am

I would bet that Tuscon has great NACHOS! Can you give me a suggestion? I am going to be there in March.

  12. Emily on February 18, 2011 at 11:22 am

So exciting you finally get to find out where you’re going! We are supposed to find out in February, but they’re running out of time! haha Maybe we’ll get good news next week too! I’m not holding my breath though haha

  13. Stephanie on February 18, 2011 at 11:23 am

It’s good that you’ll find out soon! Is it possible that you’ll end up anywhere in the country? I’m in limbo right now…we were supposed to find out about our next posting in March, but it keeps getting pushed back indefinitely.

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 11:26 am

that’s exactly how we were- we should have left the squadron two years ago but they kept holding us! yes, we could end up anywhere 🙂

  14. breakingsilence @ Freshman -15 on February 18, 2011 at 11:25 am

It’s gonna hit 75 here. I’m rocking shorts and really cute flipflops in honor of the warmth. :p

  15. Jill on February 18, 2011 at 11:31 am

I forgot that people could actually wear sundresses outside, not just prancing around in their room when their significant other isn’t home pretending that it’s warm out. Last night we had a massive snow storm that shut down the airport and turned all of our highways into skating rinks. Crazy! I guess I’ll be sticking to my winter wardrobe for a little while longer.

  16. Valerie @ City|Life|Eats on February 18, 2011 at 11:37 am

I so hear you on wanting to live in the same house as your husband. I felt that way when we were first married and working in separate cities.

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 1:25 pm

it’s the little things, huh? something that i feel like many people take for granted

  17. Courtney @ The Granola Chronicles on February 18, 2011 at 11:48 am

I love that green ramekin and place mat (or is it a napkin?) – can I ask where they’re from?

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 1:25 pm

the bowl is from pier 1 and the placemat is from world market 🙂

  18. Nicole @ Geek Turned Athlete on February 18, 2011 at 12:00 pm

I hate waiting to find out where the next station is!! I hope it is somewhere good like Germany (you two would LOVE it) or Spokane (gotta love survival) or somewhere warm!! Can’t wait to find out where you’ll be next!

  19. Gabriela @ Une Vie Saine on February 18, 2011 at 12:05 pm

Yayy I’m so excited and happy for you!! You’re coming down the home stretch to the Pilot…and that house looks beautiful. Fingers crossed for you that Tuscon is the place 🙂

  20. Mo on February 18, 2011 at 12:11 pm

I never tire of your puppy pictures . . . So glad you will finally know where you are going to be placing down some roots. I am not one who deals well with uncertainty – it’s like waiting for test results after a doctor’s appt. And that house . . . sounds absolutely beautiful. The backyard is just gorgeous – I can see you there! Question is, how is the kitchen???? I also love the fact that you are so very intelligent and well-read, and you refer to birds and being related to dinosaurs. So smart. Take care and enjoy your weekend.

    Mo

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 1:25 pm

the kitchen needs a few upgrades but it will do 🙂
haha and the only reason i refer to them as dinosaur cousins is because i’m horrified of dinosaurs..and birds
      xoxo

  21. Jordana on February 18, 2011 at 12:23 pm

I got my hopes up 2 years ago (and looked for houses) that we would be stationed in my hometown in FL. We ended up in Utah, LOL. It’s always in the Air Force’s hands, girl. I’m sure you’ll make then best of wherever, considering it could be somewhere crazy like Idaho, haha.

  22. Rachel on February 18, 2011 at 12:26 pm

How exciting! I can’t imagine not knowing where I might live in the next couple of months! Is your next home going to be permanent? Or will you have to move again soon?

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 1:24 pm

permanent for the military- 3 years ish 🙂

  23. Katie on February 18, 2011 at 12:27 pm

So exciting you will find out next Friday!! We will have to celebrate that weekend! Which we will Saturday night for sure at the party! Im so happy you will know soon and will find a place that can be ‘home’ , decorate a new place, and all that great stuff!

Have a beautiful day Gina! xo

  24. courtney@cupcakedynamite on February 18, 2011 at 12:31 pm

Beautiful house! But you’re right it’s less about the where right now but the WHO!!! It’s only 60 in NYC right now but I made it sun dress weather anyway by adding boots & a sweater 😉 I couldn’t help myself!

  25. Tina on February 18, 2011 at 12:42 pm

I’ve been loving blackberries lately, I had them with breakfast and they were delish. Happy to hear you will finally get some answers! That’s very exciting! Congrats on accomplishing the detox! Enjoy your weekend!

  26. LisaG on February 18, 2011 at 12:47 pm

  27. Bianca @ Confessions of a Chocoholic on February 18, 2011 at 12:58 pm

Wow that is a nice backyard!

What do you use to pack your smoothies to bring to work? I’d like to do that too but don’t want to end up with a warm mush hehe

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 1:23 pm

it’s a glass smoothie container from tj maxx- it keeps it nice and cold!

  28. Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on February 18, 2011 at 1:02 pm

I am SO excited for you to find out! The backyard is absolutely gorgeous, heck Tucson is absolutely gorgeous. Have a great day Gina!

  29. Natalie @ Will Jog For Food on February 18, 2011 at 1:04 pm

That is so cool that you find out next week! Hope you can stay somewhere warm 🙂

My hubby and I are in a similar boat… he is in construction and we will “most likely” move to about 4 different places, possibly by mid March. It’s kinda scary to not know, but exciting too!

  30. Danielle @ InDeesKitchen on February 18, 2011 at 1:07 pm

Yaay! That’s so exciting. Do you know of several options for where you go right now? Or is everything on the table? Fingers crossed you end up where you want to be!

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 1:23 pm

we have about 5 different places we could end up!

I love this video! Thanks so much for the inspiration Gina – I’ve never watched Brian Tracy before but I think I’m going to look for some more of his tips! I’m so excited for you to find out next week. I don’t think you’re asking much when you say you just want to live with your husband! 🙂 Have a fab Friday!

  36. Candace ( inFITation) on February 18, 2011 at 2:09 pm

That’s great goal setting advice from Brian Tracey. If you like life coaches/inspirational speakers Wayne Dyer is really great, especially his book “The Power of Intention”. I read it when my husband & I were stuck at a base I wasn’t fond of (kind of like your Valdosta story) and it changed my whole attitude!
Good luck on your new base, we just got stationed in Hawaii and it’s amazing here!

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 2:40 pm

i’ll download it on the kindle- thank you!
omg, hawaii would be incredible. enjoy the sunshine and pineapple for me 😉

  37. Sassy Molassy on February 18, 2011 at 2:18 pm

That’s so exciting you guys find out soon about your location! I’m jealous of your sundress weather. I have a lot of fun ones that don’t get enough use here in Oregon.

Also, I’ve been meaning to ask about your teaching and the studio/gym you and the pilot purchased? Just curious on more details if you can offer them. What an exciting venture!

    • Fitnessista on February 18, 2011 at 2:39 pm

next week i’ll be spilling the deets since i’m going on a business trip for the weekend 🙂

  38. Annette on February 18, 2011 at 2:30 pm

Yay, I am happy for you. 🙂 The suspense cannot be especially pleasant! I found a coupon for 30% off at PF&W – Katie, Gabriela and I are finally going to make our return there in a couple weeks, and we will leave a place set for you, just in case. 😉 And maybe drink an extra martini.

    Happy Weekend!

  41. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on February 18, 2011 at 4:05 pm

By now your last class of the week is over. And you are a few hours closer to finding out (next week) where you’re going to be living…wow, you must be so excited to finally just FIND out!!

And yes, as you said, just being under the same roof with your hubs will be a blessing 🙂

The pics of that backyard are great! The weather in AZ and So Cal this time of year is spendid, isn’t it. I wouldnt kick it out of bed. I love that 🙂

  42. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on February 18, 2011 at 5:03 pm

  49. Jessica (Fit and Clean) on February 18, 2011 at 9:45 pm

Oh, wow! The wait is almost over! Good for you. I can’t even imagine living apart from my husband for that long; or not having a house to live in. My current fave show is House Hunters International. 😉 and yay for sundress weather!!

  50. Ash on February 19, 2011 at 12:20 am

Have you had cocoa powder before? If so, I was wondering what the difference is between cocoa and cacao powder? I think there’s also carob powder. I was just thinking of trying something different and was curious of your opinion.

    • Ash on February 19, 2011 at 4:22 pm

Also what brand do you use?

    • Fitnessista on February 19, 2011 at 4:56 pm

cacao powder is less processed than cocoa powder. the taste is a little more mild
carob is a different beast but still delicious 🙂
my favorite brand of cacao is navitas naturals
