Relaxing noodle playlist

Hiiii 🙂 Happy humpday! Hope your morning is going well. Thank you so much for your awesome advice in my last post. My friend reads the blog and I know she’ll appreciate your wise words <3

I’m teaching today at the resort (a cardio circuit class, stretch class, and assisting the rest of the day) and thought I’d share my extra comfy Stretch playlist with ya.

Stretching is so important- not only for injury prevention, but for mental sanity. It feels.so.good. Remember to set aside at least 5 minutes of stretching every day- your body will thank ya 🙂

yoga

Enjoy this playlist for your next stretch sesh, at-home yoga practice, study marathon or before-bedtime treat 🙂

Stretch Playlist:

image

(Since I can’t figure out how to change song orders on my iPhone, just going to hit “shuffle” and see what happens since I have blocks of the same artists together)

A new favorite (kinda random) snack:

tortilla

Brown rice tortilla with goat cream cheese and green salsa. Looks funny, tastes foodgasmic.

For lunch today, I wanted to do something easy so I’d have time to walk Bella this morning, so I picked up some brown rice California rolls at TJs:

sushi

and packed it up with 2 amazeballz, some broccoli slaw + gluten-free Tamari pack leftover from a Pei Wei night 🙂

lunch

Perfect lunch/snacks 😀

I’m off to do the work thang, but I’ll see ya with a Fashion post and a regular post this afternoon <3

xoxo

Gina

Something to talk about: What’s your favorite beautiful, relaxing song? I’d love your help beefing up my playlist 🙂

Something to do: Make sure to *follow me on OpenSky* if you’d like tomorrow’s Twin Cakes deal:

twin cakes

Baked cake donut mix (!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <—- there are not enough exclamation marks in the world), Cinnamon Cocoa Kremes, Mesquite Cocoa biscotti and CHEEZ CRACKERS.

I had high hopes for the Cheez Crackers, since I’m obsessed with the ones from One Lucky Duck:

crackers

The twins win. Not only do they taste EXACTLY the same, the texture is lighter and crispier. Bonus: you get more in a bag 😉 I can usually finish off a OLD bag no prob, but only ate half of the twin’s. Winner winner, more crackers for dinner 😉

Baked cake donut mix and the Twins’ cheezy crackers sound awesome. Winning over the One Lucky Duck crackers? NICE!

Most anything by Jai Uttal or Deva Premal are great relaxing yoga go to’s. I love them both and are either winddown practice songs or svasana music.

    Have a great day Gina!

My yoga instructor is very much akin to Dave Farmar in the baptiste style, but he’s a total beach bum. Much of the music he’s turned us on to are in the surfer vein….lots of One Day Rising, Eva Cassidy, Jack Johnson, Gregory Alan Isakov, Marley, etc. Those are the playlists I always turn to when I flow on my own.

    • Fitnessista on May 11, 2011 at 9:43 pm

      love beachy music! thanks 🙂

Matthew Morrison singing “Over the Rainbow” totally melts my heart! Great choice! 😀

I can’t wait to start yoga! Do you have any tips for a beginner?

I need to try this goat cheese / salsa combo. I had goat cheese for the first time today, and I’m in love!

  17. Chrissy on May 11, 2011 at 9:02 pm

Hey! I was wondering why you always choose brown rice options for your bread choice. And also gluton free? Is it for health reasons or are both choices just healthier? Thanks! Love the new site. It’s FAB.

    • Fitnessista on May 11, 2011 at 9:41 pm

i usually roll with gluten-free because gluten makes my stomach hurt (but sometimes is worth it, haha). i’ve always loved brown rice more than white though

    gina-

i hate stretching but run a lot so need to – could you do a post on like a good quick stretching routine?

    • Sam on May 12, 2011 at 1:49 pm

I’d like to second this! I know stretching is very important but I’ll be honest and say I neglect it sometimes. Do you have a few key stretches that would make up an ideal quick routine as Andrea mentioned for when you’re really short on time?

      • Fitnessista on May 13, 2011 at 1:07 am

yes, i was thinking of doing a 5 minute video?

        • Sam on May 13, 2011 at 3:55 pm

          That would be great! 😀

  19. Chinda on May 12, 2011 at 1:21 pm

Hey Gina! Some great “Cool Down” songs that are poppy and popular for any group:
-Adele “Make You Feel My Love” & “Best For Last”
-Ingrid Michaelson “Way I Am” & “The Chain”
    -Anna Nalick “Breathe”
    -Beyonce “Halo”
-Plain White Tees “Rhythm of Love”
-Nelly Furtado “Legend” & “Say It Right”
    -Fergie “Finally”
We also have Dance Trance Choreography for them as well, but you can use them for most any class.

I tried the baked donuts the last time you had a special. They had a really funky aftertaste! No bueno :/
