Taking the Plunge

Hiiiii 😀 How’s your day been? Mine has been frantic but fantastic.

We’re taking the plunge.

house (2)

After a weekend of back-and-forth negotiations with the bank, today we said “eff it, let’s do this”, accepted their last offer and got the ball rolling today. Since interest rates are low and it’s a short sale, it’s going to take around 45 days to close, but then we’ll be in OUR HOUSE!!! We’ve waited this long, so what’s 45 more days? That’s a drop in the bucket, my friends.

This will be ours in the beginning of July:

house

Bella’s wearing a new shirt to celebrate:

bell

[It says tree hugger, haha]

She’s going to love having a yard to run around in!

Also, I can’t wait:

-to grill

-to be able to paint, change fixtures, do whatever the heck we want without asking permission

-to open the POD and decorate again

-to throw dinner parties again!!!

appetizers

45 days. We can make it until then 😉 [And this is the last you’ll hear of our house woes until we move in. Wahoo!]

This morning, I started off the day by teaching YogaTone. We did LOTS of lunges and chatarunga push-ups- I’m a little sore already! I used the same playlist as I used last week and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. I’ll be sure to change it up for next week’s class.

Breakfast:

cereal

Gluten-free vanilla sunrise cereal with almond milk, 1/2 banana and cinnamon

cereal (2)

After yoga, I dropped the car off to be serviced at the dealership, which is a PAIN, but the good news is that they had a loaner to give me for the day. I think I found the Pilot’s next car? Heh heh.

So I have to show you guys this new-to-me hummus that I’m obsessed with:

hummus

Guacamole hummus! It’s like my two favorite things had a baby- it makes me very happy 🙂 You can find it at Trader Joe’s, in the cold section, next to the other hummus, salsa-type goodies.

We’re off to pick the car up and then hit the gym!

Have a lovely night and I’ll see ya in the morning 🙂

xoxo

Gina

Something to talk about: What are you most looking forward to this summer? Have a fun vacation planned? Grilling? Summer produce? Pool parties? 🙂

  26. Colleen on May 24, 2011 at 8:29 am

Good luck with the house! “Short Sales” are anything but short, a HUMUNGOUS pain… the hubby and I bought a short sale house last year. We made the offer before Christmas, the bank accepted our offer in July, and we closed in September. It was agony, but the timing with our Apt worked out fine, and the house was definitely worth waiting for. Now I have a basement dance studio, and there is a community bike path that goes right past our backyard!

  27. Mo on May 24, 2011 at 8:41 am

I’m so very thrilled for you! I just love the painting/decorating/organizing part of new homeownership. We are currently having our roof replaced – they have to tear off three layers of shingles before putting the new ones on – ah, the joys of owning a home! I’m looking forward to that first warm tomato out of my garden, our local farmers market and hopefully a little time off work (I’ve been short staffed, so no time off for me). Take care – and may the next 45 days fly by as fast as you want them to! Take care my favorite trio!

I’ll be anxiously awaiting cooler weather and the quick arrival of Thanksgiving – our little turkey’s due date!! <3

Good deal on you guys house. So thrilled for you two. We are having a family get together at north Georgia lake in a couple of weeks and going to SanFran again in august. And a quick trip to the beach. We’ve ready had cookouts & enjoying the pool. It’s almost too hot to grillout. Also waiting on some tomatoes, eggplant & peppers to be ready for picking. Kids almost done with school this week. Yay!

  37. Christina D on May 25, 2011 at 11:30 am

Congrats on the house 😀 I don’t know if you’ve already talked about this (I’m a relatively new reader), but you should totally do some before and after house decorating pics. I’d love to see the progress.

    • Fitnessista on May 25, 2011 at 11:25 pm
