Hey guys! I’m so glad you enjoyed the holiday gift guide. There are some gift ideas on the Family page, too, and I’ll post one for the dudes next Monday.

It was a great day today <3

Kinda weird that the Pilot had to go to work –I got used to having him around after 4 days- but it was a day full of productivity,

computer

morning cardio (elliptical) + an afternoon walk with my favorite furry face

walk2

and lunch with my friend Liz at Create Cafe, which I’ve never tried before.

wrap

One of the amazing things about being in the city where I grew up is that I know where “all of the good places are.” But on the other hand, I end up rotating between the 10 or so places that we’ve gone to forever and know we love. Obviously I’ve been missing out, as you can see from the above pic: sweet potato fries and a Greek wrap on a brown rice tortilla.

We need to expand our horizons a little on a restaurant front, especially since Tucson has so many incredible local gems.

When I got home from lunch, I couldn’t figure out why my purse was so heavy. I dug around and found a rogue apple that has been in there since Saturday.

apple

He was a little banged up, so I made a baked apple (chopped, topped with cinnamon and microwaved for 2 minutes) for a little sweet treat.

Another snack:

toast

Almond butter and jelly never gets old.

I’m about to make a cup of tea –we bought this K Cup coffee maker yesterday and I’ve used it at least 6 times since then. I haven’t found a K Cup that I want to try yet, so I’ll just make hot water (2 minutes!) and add a tea bag or tea ball of herbs-

k cup

and do the email thang.

Have a lovely night!

xoxo

Gina

What’s the last random thing you found in your purse? I’ve been known to carry around a giant container of red pepper flakes…

I found Twinings Earl Grey & Green tea in K cups at Kroger stores in Texas. I have a exact same machine and have loved the tea option. You have a good night as well.

My son would find small gravel rocks on the sidewalk and give them to me to hold….in the purse they went, and soon forgotten.

One time I posted about all the stuff in my purse. I think the weirdest thing out of the stuff I found was a bag of microwaveable popcorn. Hey, you never know when you’re gonna get a craving! Sean and I have been looking at getting a coffee maker but I’m not a daily drinker (tea is my thang) and neither is he–I don’t think. I’ve been debating between a Keurig-type or a french press. I love that the one you have is sleek looking. Most of the ones I’ve seen are huge and clunky looking and will probably take up too much space on the counter.

I forget apples in my purse a lot (I have a love of all things apple). Even without the apples, I always have a heavy purse – my husband calls it “Big Bertha.” The coffee maker looks awesome – I am sure ya’ll will enjoy it!

I once had two sample bottles of olive oil that I was given at a grocery store. A few months later I went to the court house to get birth certificates for my sons the security guard peeked on my purse and found them, oops. I also carry toy cars and mini books for when the kids get bore:)

I am the Splenda Queen. Or I was a while ago. Now I use stevia drops. But when I was all about splenda, I’d discover sweetener packs in my gym bag, work bag, and purses.

They sell reusable K cup filters that you can fill with your own coffee, anything you choose: http://www.amazon.com/Keurig-K-Cup-Reusable-Coffee-Filter/dp/B000DLB2FI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1322538331&sr=8-2 . Wonder if you can use this filter for tea as well? Way better for the environment to use a reusable K cup and avoid dumping all those disposable K cups in landfills. Way cheaper too. :)

I also found an apple in my purse, but it was unfortunately cut up in a container and had been there for a week and a half. Not salvageable.
I’ve never tried baked apple but it sounds very fall-y.

I have found apples several times in my gym bags, and I have to say you are so lucky that your apple was still edible! They can leave quite a stinch. Btw I LOVE your pink laptop….I totally want one now!

LOL at “rogue apple”…that’s freakin’ hilarious…

The weirdest thing i’ve found in the purse was an expired Pepper Spray for dogwalking, parking lots, etc. Other popular items include uncapped eyeliner (ick), “rogue” gum (lol again!), half-eaten Mojo-, Lara-, or Z bars, and, of course, lone Advil.

Your KCup maker is awesome! Want one!!!!

I can’t wait for your guys gift guide. I am kinda stumped on the “something special” to get for my husband for our first MARRIED Christmas.
Enjoy your k-cup brewer. FYI – they make a k-cup filter for those things so you can use your own coffee or tea without buying a million little cups! Now we buy both since a pound of coffee is so much less expensive than that much coffee in k-cups!

I always have a smoked salt grinder in my purse. The boy thinks I am crazy, but he always makes sure I have it before we go out to eat, lest I pout how much reg salt sucks. I assume you get weird looks when you whip out your red pepper flakes like I do when I take out my “snob salt”

I no longer carry a purse! (I have a habit of leaving it everywhere)! So I have my ID and debit/credit cards in my phone case! But when I did carry a purse, I had all kinds of stuff in there! (Always some lollipops or candy) and when i had little ones, there were always the extra diaper and emergency change of clothes! Just perfect for a quart sized zip lock baggie! And little Tupperware containers with baby cereal or formula and a small bottle of water!

Ohhh a brown rice tortilla wrap and sweet potato fries? That is def a food gem! I am the worst when it comes to finding random things in my purse! Often, 2 water bottles or diet cokes fit in there, I’ve been known to find 5 magazines… or the other day when I discovered 6 long necklaces… oops. Not quite sure how it all ends up in there but Kate Spade seems to hide it all!
