V-day Booty Blast

Morning! Hope everyone is having a happy Monday so far <3

Catching up on the weekend?

Pics from yesterday’s fiesta

My first postpartum workout

Today, the Pilot took a day of leave –he has a ton, and you use it or ya lose it- so we’ve been taking it easy this morning.

Drank some tea

tea8

made some omelets

omelet2

with 2 eggs, greens, turkey, and the star of the show was kalamata olive goat cheese:

tjs2

one of a few Trader Joe’s impulse buys- it’s almost as bad as Target. TJs has an amazing talent for taking the things I love and making them even better, especially with their goat cheese varieties. Also picked up some falafel chips (corn and garbanzo chips- they’re beautifully spiced, too) and powerberry trail mix. Somehow, the powerberries are missing from the mix 😉

Since the Pilot is home, today feels more like Sunday, so we’re going to spend it getting things done around the casa and running a couple of errands.

Hope you have a wonderful Monday <3

xoxo,

Gina

Something to do: How about a Valentine’s Day Booty Blast? Sweat is the body crying tears of joy 😉

Complete this workout by itself for a lovely booty burn, or combine it with your favorite cardio routine (how about the February Schweaty Workout?) or on legs day. As always, check with a doc before making any fitness changes and honor your body and personal workout needs.

It’s a good thing there is no TJ’s anywhere near Ontario because that would be the end of me! I already have a way of spending a fortune in Whole Foods and another store would be way too tempting. Having said that… I’m still longing for the day that I set foot in one in the US!

That omelet looks delicious! Every time I go to Trader Joe’s I come home with double the amount of groceries I planned on getting….everything is so good!

  3. Maureen on February 13, 2012 at 1:24 pm

I LOVE TJ’s! I printed your workout….getting back on the workout wagon as of late! Excited to try it out!

That omelette looks SO good right about now!! I have been obsessed with eggs lately and I love the addition of turkey for an added protein boost!

I want some falafel chips now!! I dont’ think the TJs by me carries them, though 🙁

  7. britt on February 13, 2012 at 1:31 pm

  8. Amanda on February 13, 2012 at 1:51 pm

I almost bought those chips Saturday! Now that I know they’re good, I might not be able to pass them up again.

  9. Emily @ Glitz Glam Granola on February 13, 2012 at 2:02 pm

So glad the Pilot is spending the day with you and Livi! How fun! And OMG I just bought those Falafel chips too and am absolutely OBSESSED! I seriously can’t stop eating them! Especially with their tomato-basil hummus… Yum!

  10. Amelia on February 13, 2012 at 2:03 pm

Girl, your workouts are killer. Whenever I look at them I think, “Huh, looks innocent enough”.
Then I actually get INTO them and think, “Holy crap, I’m on fire! What was I thinking??”

Falafel chips? Haven’t seen those at my TJ’s yet. I’ll be on the lookout tomorrow morning.

Totally unrelated, but I watched this video the other day and it really made me think of you and the pilot.

It is the sister of one of our friends singing, and the video is great!

Yes Target & TJs are both evil… I always want everything I never knew I needed and then $100 later I’m like, wtf?! TJs cheese section is out of this world!

  13. kyla on February 13, 2012 at 2:24 pm

    Oh wow?! Falafel chips????? Yum!

  14. Kristen on February 13, 2012 at 2:27 pm

Your omelet looks awesome. I’ve been lovin eggs lately.

I am 37 weeks pregnant and I found your Bun In The Oven workout from a while back that you came up with for a friend. I started Day 1 today. My plan is to do this workout for the next few weeks until he comes. I’ve really felt great working out up until now and I’m just not feeling it anymore. I’m hoping this workout will carry me through to the finish!

Yay! Another new workout routine. I was worried I’d miss the Winter Shape Ups – so glad for this one!

WOOHOO! Planning to try the Booty Blast and an AB burner today at the gym.

Bathing suit on Thursday….this is PERFECT for me, thanks Gina!

Glad you and your sweeties are enjoying the day together and the Pilot was able to use some of his accrued leave. Use it, and don’t lose it, for sure!

TJs has the best products and I try not to go there too hungry or it’s impulse buy city 🙂

  18. Kilee on February 13, 2012 at 3:19 pm

I second that about Trader Joe’s. I always think I’m going in for 2-3 basic necessities and end up with $75+ of “must-haves.” It sounds like a lovely day to stay home together. Have a great day!

  19. Michelle (Better with Berries) on February 13, 2012 at 3:31 pm

Thanks for the workout!! I got out of work early for the weather, and I think my “gym” (basement) is calling my name!

  20. Ramani on February 13, 2012 at 3:39 pm

    Hi Gina,

I’m new to your blog and I LOVE it. I check every, single day. Very informative, interesting and you’re (and Liv) so cute.

Just a few questions since I am new, sorry if you already answered these in the past. Are you gluten free or vegan? I am currently trying to go GF for a while and noticed you eat brown rice bread and other GF products. I also noticed you dont eat dairy except goat cheese. Is this better for you versus other dairy? And your omelet looks very interesting, did you not beat the two eggs? Thanks and cant wait to hear from you! 🙂

After reading about almond butter for so long on your blog, I FINALLY picked up a jar from Trader Joe’s today. I had some on a medjool date (and then some plain, haha) and it was amazing! I think you’re exactly right – once you go almond, you never go back 🙂

  22. Catherine C. on February 13, 2012 at 4:20 pm

Went to TJ’s on Saturday and picked up some of those PowerBerries. THEY ARE DELICIOUS. I had to hide them from myself haha 🙂

  23. Kim N. on February 13, 2012 at 5:18 pm

Kalamata olive goat cheese?!? I’m going to cross my fingers that the Whole Foods here has it, because there is no TJ’s remotely close to me!

  24. Sheila on February 13, 2012 at 6:31 pm

I did this workout at lunch. It was awesome. I especially like the sumo squat side leg lift, and the killer bosu ball kick backs. Uggh. That’s a good, uggh.

    xo

Ooh that goat cheese would be perfect stuffed into chicken or crumbled on pizza! <3

I hope you are enjoying your day with the Pilot!

  26. Ali on February 13, 2012 at 7:36 pm

Oh man. so nice to have your man around, isn’t it? The Booty Blast looks awesome!

  27. Kelly @ Vegolosophy on February 13, 2012 at 7:54 pm

mmmmmm those chips look great, I may need to try those!! And that booty blast, definitely looks like a great workout!

  28. Tia @ Veggies and Pearls on February 13, 2012 at 9:48 pm

Falafel chips?! WHAT?! Um, those sound amazing!

  29. Cara Craves... on February 13, 2012 at 9:52 pm

I will remember that “tears of joy” the next time I am working out 🙂

  30. Emily on February 14, 2012 at 12:57 am

Funny – I came home from TJ’s the other day with that EXACT same haul of goodies. The kalamata olive goat cheese is to die for!! I normally pop a few kalamatas with my chevre anyway, so I love that they saved me that extra effort 😉

  31. Laura @ She Eats Well on February 14, 2012 at 2:18 am

I love that omelette…would you like some eggs with that turkey? It looks delicious! I am seeing The Vow with my single gf tomorrow evening after work. Rachel McAdams does NO wrong in my book. Bring it on, sappy love story.

  32. Hillary [Nutrition Nut on the Run] on February 14, 2012 at 10:44 am

I’ve never thought to do tabata jump squats. That sounds killer!

  33. meghan@ struggle muffins on February 14, 2012 at 12:54 pm

Sometimes I think Trader Joe’s is the devil because it sucks me into it’s fun and faddish treat-filled vortex. Falafel chips? I’m so there. I almost cried a thousand tears when it took peanut flour off the shelves, but knew TJ would come back with something interesting and off-beat. My recent addiction is the chocolate ‘cat cookies for people’ dipped into a jar of peanut butter. Most just because they’re called ‘cat cookies for people.’ Precious.

  34. Taylor on February 14, 2012 at 7:33 pm

I tried one of those this weekend! They had it as a sample with some spinach artichoke (i think) dip…it was soooo good!

  35. Jessica @ BEBT on March 6, 2012 at 1:54 pm

I did this workout today and it was great! I have been waddling all day at work 😉
