We’re all out

Whenever Bella’s food dish is empty, she’ll clank the bowl and then walk over to us, as if to say, “You hear that, fools? I’m outta food. Feed me.”

bella

So you can imagine the fury that was unleashed when I walked over to the pantry, grabbed her bag of food and a few measly kernels fell into her bowl.

We were out of dog food- something that should probably never happen over here.

pilot and bell2

She was so upset, she went over and stood in the Pilot’s face,

and didn’t even notice that I was in the kitchen making her a bowl of brown rice, hardboiled egg yolk and chicken. She didn’t mind so much after that 😉 She enjoyed the same feast for breakfast, but a trip to PetSmart is definitely on the agenda for today.

Something else I’m out of?

Room for iPhone photos.

out of room

For those who were wondering, the magic number is 2105. I took it as a hint to start using my real camera.

Breakfast:

breakfast10

2 servings of oats with Sun Warrior and defrosted cherries and a steamed egg

I have no idea what we’re doing today, but will probably be taking it easy. Yesterday was a lot of fun, but my abs are KILLING me from the suspension training workshop. The first day, we spent a lot of the time learning about set-up and form cues, and yesterday we walked in and the master trainer was like, “I’m just going to kick your asses for 30 minutes. Here we go.”

Yeah.

Side planks and burpees using suspension trainers = no joke.

Would you guys be interested in a TRX workout? Is it something that you have access to at home or at a gym?

What are you up to this weekend?

I hope it starts off with a wonderful Friday <3

See ya later today!

xoxo

Gina

Yes for the TRX workout! My gym has it but I’m too intimidated to try it out without kind of knowing what I’m doing…

  7. E on April 13, 2012 at 11:53 am

Would love tips on a TRX workout. We have TRX equipment at my gym and I’ve never once seen anyone use it.

  8. Suzi @ Confessions of a Fitness Instructor on April 13, 2012 at 11:54 am

So… if your phone was full and couldn’t take anymore photos how did you do the screen shot? Doesn’t that count the same as a photo? Maybe it’s just a smaller file…

    • Fitnessista on April 13, 2012 at 11:57 am

i was wondering the same thing!

  9. Ashley on April 13, 2012 at 11:55 am

    LOOOOVE that quote.

  10. char eats greens on April 13, 2012 at 11:55 am

Kinda addicted to Starships right now haha. I’ve used the TRX before…my hubby has them at the athlete workout centre he works at. I haven’t used them in a while though. I should get back into it because they made my abs hurt for days after sometimes!

  11. Emily on April 13, 2012 at 11:58 am

Bella is so adorable, I don’t know how you stand it! She had a better breakfast than I did, lucky dog! I’m dying to try TRX, I see people using the suspenders at the gym and wish I knew how to use them, they look hardcore! I could get into it.

  12. Lisa@HealthyDiaries on April 13, 2012 at 11:58 am

    Bella just cracks me up!
I’ve used the TRX when I had a trainer at my gym, but don’t anymore. It is one heck of a great workout though!

I can’t wait to work on my abs after I have the baby!

    • Fitnessista on April 13, 2012 at 12:03 pm

my abs are so confused.. it’s been a long time!

Wait second. BURPEES with TRX straps? Oh, lord. I cannot even imagine.

    • Fitnessista on April 13, 2012 at 12:16 pm

      one leg. no words.

      • Elizabeth @ reads recipes runs on April 13, 2012 at 12:49 pm

I was trying to figure that one out too! I was like, “do you stand and somehow ballance on the straps?” Now I get it!

I would ove TRX at home but I don’t see my doorjams holding up to that…

  17. Lauren C. on April 13, 2012 at 12:16 pm

Would love a TRX workout! I have a set up in my basement. I used to take a class at the gym once a week and would do some of my own at home, but after a while I got bored with it and it started to hurt my shoulders. The class I took felt like a lot of pulling yourself up with your arms, which is why I think it bothered my shoulders when nothing else usually does. I would love to know some cardio moves to do with the TRX, like burpees! Sounds intense 🙂

  18. Anna @ The Guiltless Life on April 13, 2012 at 12:19 pm

I’m SUPER curious about TRX but don’t think I have access to it – though I live in Vancouver, so I’m sure there’s one somewhere around here! I’ll have to research it 🙂

  19. Whitney @ Whit Likes Fit on April 13, 2012 at 12:20 pm

That pic of Bella on the Pilot totally cracked me up. This post totally hit home. We’ve gone to give our dog food before and realized we’re totally out and have to whip up something in the kitchen.

  20. Carly on April 13, 2012 at 12:21 pm

OMG that pic of Bella with the Pilot is too adorable! hahah Love her. Happy Friday 🙂

  21. Meredith on April 13, 2012 at 12:26 pm

That “stand-off” pic of Bella is hilarious. That’s all.

    Have a great weekend!

  22. Katie @ Plates and Paste on April 13, 2012 at 12:34 pm

Hahaha my mom’s miniature poodle does the SAME thing. He’ll just look at his bowl and clank it around as if that will magically make food appear.

TRX is no joke. First time I saw it I was like “oh, that doesn’t look so bad” then I tried it 🙂

  23. Alexis on April 13, 2012 at 12:36 pm

I have a TRX at home and I would love to see a new workout!

  24. Lisa @ Fresh Spinach on April 13, 2012 at 12:38 pm

That quote was MUCH needed. Thanks.

  25. Michelle on April 13, 2012 at 12:41 pm

Definitely interested in a TRX workout! It’s been awhile since I’ve been to a class so I could use a refresher.

  26. Brittany on April 13, 2012 at 12:48 pm

My dog does the same thing in the summer with her water. She knows that when it is 4:00 we feed her. She will sit in front of us and stare waiting for us to get up. It’s so cute. She will also drink water and then lick her food bowl during the day. We say she is making soup!!! Love my girl.

  27. Alicia@ bakeaholic on April 13, 2012 at 12:51 pm

I just looked at how many photos I have -3107!! Lol you probably have more music than I do on my iPhone – which probably takes up space !! I should probably start using my regular camera too.. But it’s so much easier on the iPhone ! Guilty :$

  28. lindsay @ prettylittleparadise on April 13, 2012 at 12:54 pm

oh nooo! I’m at 1,509 on my iPhone photos and get nervous every time I go to take another one!! I better start deleting butbi just looove having them all on there…. All 1509 of them 😉

When the bag of cat food gets low, I get panic-y…………………..I can’t look at my cat Kevin’s face……………….if we have no food for him! Bella is so funny!

  31. Erin Hack on April 13, 2012 at 12:55 pm

I would love to hear more about TRX workouts. My gym doesn’t offer them but I have considered purchasing the at-home workout gear. Thanks Gina! PS – I didn’t think it was possible but your baby gets more adorable with every new picture! 🙂

  32. Lara on April 13, 2012 at 12:56 pm

Good to know about the iPhone photo storage!

Oh Bella, you crack me up. My pups do the same thing. Even after we feed them a good meal, they come over to us and act like staving little orphan dogs.

  33. Suzanne Bowen Fitness on April 13, 2012 at 1:04 pm

  34. Emily @ Glitz Glam Granola on April 13, 2012 at 1:09 pm

Omigosh I love that picture of Bella and the Pilot! Too cute!! Sorry you are feeling sore today but a restful day sounds like the perfect start to a weekend! To be honest, TRX kind of scares me! I’ve never taken a class like that and I’m worried I’d fall on my face using that equipment!

  35. chrissy on April 13, 2012 at 1:14 pm

wow, bella has swagg!!!! adorable, that pic put a little kick in my day:)

  36. Jasmine on April 13, 2012 at 1:20 pm

  37. Suzanne on April 13, 2012 at 1:28 pm

Aw, Bella! That is so hilarious. She always makes me smile. 🙂

I’ve used the TRX with my trainer, and I hate it but I love it.
I know it works, because I am ALWAYS sore in all the right places, but damn – is it tough!
Would love to see what other torturous..i mean, helpful moves can be done with the TRX.
so yes, to a TRX workout please.

  38. Laura on April 13, 2012 at 1:50 pm

I would love to see a TRX workout! My gym recently bought a big stand with about 8 straps!

  39. Laura @ She Eats Well on April 13, 2012 at 1:52 pm

That is a great quote…something to think about. And hooray for adding a new song to my workout playlist. I work out daily, usually and my music gets SO old since I have to always work out with music :). Love when you put up a new jam! 🙂

  40. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on April 13, 2012 at 1:55 pm

That’s such a great quote! And I totally agree with you and the TRX burpees… they are definitely a love to hate move for me, but I feel so proud of myself when I’m all done! Have a lovely afternoon Gina!

  41. Jamie on April 13, 2012 at 2:25 pm

Gina I would LOVE a trx workout !! I only know a few exercises but always try to find out more to incorporate ! That would be amazing a whole body TRX workout! And also I was just thinking this morning how many photos can be saved and I’m glad it’s that many! But I definitely need to use my real camera as well. 🙂 have a good day

  42. Averie @ Averie Cooks on April 13, 2012 at 2:34 pm

2105 photos, eh? I actually have more than that on my iphone but when I bought it, I bought the larger of the two sizes with memory…can’t remember what that magic number is, but it was a $100 bucks more at the time and I remember thinking, peace of mind. Looks like I can probably go up to 4210 now 🙂

  43. Tara on April 13, 2012 at 2:45 pm

Hey there Gina! I’m new to your site, thanks to Pinterest. I have a question for you. Your oats look delicious and I actually can’t stand oats, but that’s probably because mine NEVER look like that. Mind if I ask how you made those and the ingredients you used? 🙂 Thanks so much! Very excited to have a new blog to check in on daily now. 🙂

    • Fitnessista on April 13, 2012 at 3:29 pm

hi tara! so nice to meet you- thank you for checking out my blog!
i just put oats and water in a glass bowl and microwave for a little less than 2 minutes. stir in almond milk and 1/2 scoop protein powder, top with frozen fruit and microwave for 40 seconds more 🙂

  44. Beth on April 13, 2012 at 3:27 pm

That pic of Bella and the Pilot is priceless. She is so cute being all tough with him, giving him the “just who do you think you are running out of food?!” look! She’s a sassy one!

    • Fitnessista on April 13, 2012 at 3:28 pm

      she is outta control 😉

  45. Kim @ girlevolving on April 13, 2012 at 3:28 pm

Same thing happened to us with our cat food after we had Leo! Before the baby that would have NEVER happened!!

  46. Menden on April 13, 2012 at 3:31 pm

Our pup does the same thing! She’ll march right up and jump up on the couch and stand on our chests to get attention. Must be a little dog thing 😉

TRX workout sounds awesome / tough!! I did a trial TRX class at my gym and I was SORE for days!

  47. Talia @ Bite Size Wellness on April 13, 2012 at 3:37 pm

Angry puppy! My cat (that acts more like a dog) would totally do that to me if she was out of food…although she would be happy eating a can of tuna:) Lucky baby got rice and egg and chicken!

  48. Shari on April 13, 2012 at 5:58 pm

I absolutely ADORE that quote — you always post such inspiring ones!
