Thank you so much for the amazing response to the first workout! I’m so happy you’re enjoying it 🙂 I did workout 1 for the first time a few weeks ago and it killed me in the best way possible. Hope you feel the same way. If you’re just finding out about Summer Shape Up, no worries, it is never too late to sign up! Check out the intro post here, and then leave a comment in any post being sure to click the box to sign up for my newsletter. The password for the first week’s workout and meal ideas will be emailed to you automatically after you sign up. 🙂

When I first started my weight loss journey, I quickly realized that it was not worth it to spend money on clothes during that time. I’d go buy an outfit for work, and it would be too big before I could wear it. It may seem like a “problem that’s not really a problem,” but clothes can be costly, and it’s a waste if you don’t get to wear them. I halted the clothing purchases since I knew my size would be temporary until I reached a healthier weight. Since then, I’ve always told my training clients to minimize clothing expenses while we’re working together, and instead to use a clothes shopping spree as an awesome reward when they hit their goal.

Many of you will hit new fitness goals with the Summer Shape Up. Even if the scale doesn’t budge -muscle is more dense than fat, so you could technically weigh the same and have a lower body fat percentage- your clothes could fit you differently. Maybe you just hit a fitness goal and want to celebrate, or could use a bit of a closet overhaul.

I’d like to share my Stitch Fix credit with a few lucky winners as the first Shape Up giveaway.

Stitchfix

I have a credit with Stitch Fix from referring people to the brand over the past 6 months or so. At first, I thought it would be cool to get a discount on what I purchase from them since I love my monthly Stitch Fix box, and the credit continued to grow. I was trying to think of a good way to use it and quickly thought of the perfect solution: give back to YOU, since you’re the reason why I have a credit with them in the first place.

I emailed Stitch Fix to see if it would be possible to do a giveaway and they more than happy to help me set it up.

Today’s giveaway is $3500 of Stitch Fix credit: $500 each to seven lucky winners. That’s a lot of new clothes!

This is a super fun giveaway! I’ve been thinking that StitchFix sounded like such a great idea since you first posted about it. I’m turning 30 in a couple of weeks and would love to start a new decade with some new wardrobe pieces! Thanks for including us!

  2. Danielle on June 3, 2013 at 12:15 pm

I’d love to win because as a Zumba instructor, all I do is buy workout clothes…never “real” clothes anymore! I am in desperate need of something that is not comfy sweats or fun cut up t-shirts, so I’d love to win 😀

  3. Abigail on June 3, 2013 at 12:17 pm

    I would LOVE this!!

  4. Megan on June 3, 2013 at 12:17 pm

I have been dealing with an autoimmune disease that has wrecked my self esteem. I have not enjoyed buying clothes lately but this stitchfix would be much appreciated as a way to get my toe back into the fashion water.

  5. kat on June 3, 2013 at 12:17 pm

Goodness! After having my first baby on new year’s day I’m finally back to my pre-pregnancy weight but all my summer clothes from last year are maternity so I’m fully hurting for some hot weather threads!

  6. Marisa on June 3, 2013 at 12:17 pm

Even writing this is hard, but the guy that I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with broke up with me. After not being on the dating scene for over a year. I need to shed the extra pounds and get some new dating clothes so I can feel good about myself again while tackling the social scene.

Thanks so much for the workouts!!

  7. Ashley on June 3, 2013 at 12:17 pm

Excited to do workout #1 tonight and a new wardrobe is always welcome :)!

  8. Jaime on June 3, 2013 at 12:18 pm

What a great give away!! Would LOVE to win this one. I am still working on getting rid of that last bit of baby weight. Winter Shape Up gave me awesome results and I am hoping SSU will finish off the job! Can’t wait to purchase some new clothes to go with my new/old body!!!

  9. Liz S. on June 3, 2013 at 12:19 pm

I haven’t bought new non maternity clothes in over nine months. I’m making myself wait til I’m completely back to my pre-babe bod before adding to my wardrobe. And I am on desperate need of a stitch fix!!

  10. Heather on June 3, 2013 at 12:20 pm

I’ve done Stichfix before and loved it! I’m having surgery in two days to fix a labral tear on my left hip and I’m going to be on short term disability for the next twelve weeks. It would brighten by day to get some moolah for my next fix with my “new” hip.

  11. Amanda on June 3, 2013 at 12:20 pm

I love stitchfix! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

  12. Molly Z. on June 3, 2013 at 12:20 pm

I would love to try out StichFix since I just accepted a full time position after searching for over a year while working multiple part-time jobs and volunteering! And I’m going to need a little help with a new office wardrobe!! Also — I have been looking forward to Workout 1 all day that I have scheduled for this afternoon!

  13. Maddie on June 3, 2013 at 12:21 pm

I have been wanting to try Stitch Fix for a while now but haven’t quite yet! This would be the perfect opportunity!! I am a teacher and would love to get a couple new wardrobe pieces for back to school!!

I also want to sign up for the summer shape up so I can participate in the workouts you make!!

    Love your blog!!

  14. Lauren on June 3, 2013 at 12:22 pm

  15. Lindsay D on June 3, 2013 at 12:23 pm

Who doesn’t love new clothes?.?.? I am looking forward to the Summer Shape Up and see some changes. What a great giveaway!!

  16. Jen on June 3, 2013 at 12:23 pm

I’d love to win as I’ve spent the last 2 years in grad school without any time or money to shop! Also, getting ready to do workout 1 now! Thanks!

  17. Staci on June 3, 2013 at 12:24 pm

oh my goodness, I LOVE stitch fix thanks to you 🙂 I have referred several of my friends, i look forward every month to getting it! I feel like the staff knows me and its so convenient. I would love to get a credit 🙂

  18. Mona on June 3, 2013 at 12:24 pm

I would LOVE to win, I’m a new graduate from medical school, with a lot of loans, and would use the money to buy clothes for my new job.

  19. Jenn on June 3, 2013 at 12:24 pm

For a few years I’ve been at my desk job and my fitness has really declined as I’m much more inactive during the day. But I’ve been working hard recently to get back into shape and be healthier. I’ve lost some weight so I’m wearing really old baggy t-shirts. I’d love to buy more workout clothes, but I work for the AF and I just received my furlough notice 🙁 Money is going to be tight for awhile, so free workout clothes would be a huge blessing!

  20. Jaime on June 3, 2013 at 12:24 pm

So Excited for this!!! Did the first workout today and it was ROUGH! Hoping to get stronger and feel results. Thank you for doing this for free and being an amazing cheerleader for everyone! It’s very helpful. Been reading your blog for about a year and I’m finally joining in the fun!
Stich fix is awesome! I have been putting off sending for my next fix because we have a lot going on that requires keeping extras like that to a minimum. (I’ve only done 2 so far) My step son is getting married at the end of this month so we’ve done our best to help them with as much as we can. My husband is also turning 50 this month so I have been saving and saving to try and throw him a nice bash. He always, ALWAYS does for others and asks for nothing in return….ever. Doing something special for him is very important to me. SO…it would be nice to have something from stich fix to wear. I have been obsessing over the instagram #stichfix photos of what everyone is getting in their boxes lately!

  21. Beth on June 3, 2013 at 12:24 pm

Can’t wait to do workout #1!

New clothes would help so much – none of my clothes for after having my baby last year. Everything is too big. Anything that does has been ruined my a moth infestation after my hus left his winter clothes in the basement after my gentle suggestion he not do that. Then we faced 6 months of unemployed so money has been tight. In the bug picture, we are happy & healthy, but goodness it’d be nice to have some clothes that are hole free & fit!

  22. Adrienne on June 3, 2013 at 12:24 pm

Would love to win Stitch Fix credit! It is such a unique shopping experience. I am in desperate need for some new summer clothes!

  23. Camee on June 3, 2013 at 12:25 pm

I can’t wait to do workout 1! I love getting new clothes!

  24. Meg on June 3, 2013 at 12:25 pm

I just did the first workout and ran outside for the HIIT. Ouch (in a good way). I am not used to working out in the 90 degree Virginia heat yet!

  25. Becky on June 3, 2013 at 12:25 pm

Thanks for sharing the credit! My wardrobe could definitely use some sprucing up 🙂

  26. nikki on June 3, 2013 at 12:25 pm

I love stitch fix for encouraging me to try new things… and I love Summer Shape Up for the same reason! 🙂

  27. Devon on June 3, 2013 at 12:25 pm

Oh my gosh! A would love a stich fix! I am expecting and could use a summer wardrobe boost as I have halted all new purchases since I found out about being prego since I’m not sure what will look good or how fast my bump will grow.

  28. Monica on June 3, 2013 at 12:25 pm

I’ve been out of the country for the last six months (deployed) and when I return next month I will be in desperate need of new clothes!!!

  29. Beth on June 3, 2013 at 12:25 pm

Big picture – ha – pun not intended.

  30. SC on June 3, 2013 at 12:25 pm

Making the transition from student to teacher is tough, wardrobe-wise. Would love some new clothes! Also looking forward to summer shape up 🙂

  31. Carrie on June 3, 2013 at 12:26 pm

What a great giveaway! You actually introduced me to Stitch Fix, and I have been receiving my monthly fixes ever since! However, I have to be frugal in deciding what to keep and what to ship back. Normally, I love it all but don’t have much “crazy money” right now, so I pick one thing that I love as a treat. I just started my first job out of college a few months ago, am getting married this fall, and am saving to hopefully buy a house soon. Anyways, it would be nice to have a fun little spree and not have to focus only on multi-functional pieces (i.e. must be work appropriate).

Also, I had to write a little comment about Workout #1. My fiance and I did it on Saturday to test it out and see how long it would take. OMG! My shoulder blades and inner thighs/hamstrings/booty were SO SORE yesterday. It really snuck up on me after the workout (during I was feeling good). I think it was the weighted squats/squat jumps superset. (Random question: I did the squat jumps with the same weight as the squats – were these supposed to be weighted?) Anyways, I honestly thought I would have no problem doing it Saturday for the test-run and then today again per the SSU calendar, but … I may have to switch today and tomorrow 😉

Thanks for the great workout and doing this all for free!

  32. Meryl on June 3, 2013 at 12:26 pm

I haven’t bought new summer clothes in several years. Last year I was pregnant and the years before I just couldn’t justify spending the money. I would love to win this!

  33. Gina G on June 3, 2013 at 12:27 pm

I would love to win because even though I try my best, I am not really the definition of a fashionista. Stitch-fix seems awesome!

    Thank you for this opportunity!

  34. Naomi on June 3, 2013 at 12:27 pm

I would love to try stitchfix for some new clothes! I am always hesitant to buy clothes online, but with all the positive feedback I’ve heard about stitchfix. it sounds like the way to go!

  36. Brandi on June 3, 2013 at 12:28 pm

I’ve been with StitchFix for several months now and LOOOOOVVVEEE it, but often find it difficult to keep the items I love as I need to save money. It would be WONDERFUL to win this giveaway and help with my work wardrobe. PS – LOVE YOUR BLOG 🙂

  40. Nicole on June 3, 2013 at 12:31 pm

You are the reason I became obsessed with Stitch Fix! LOL! All. Your. Fault. I don’t spend much on clothes since I still have a few baby pounds to lose but i LOVE stitch fix! Great giveaway AND my first time signing up for a shape up! So excited!

  50. Susie on June 3, 2013 at 12:36 pm

After almost a whole month of feeling the beginning-of-pregnancy yuckies, I woke up feeling great today, the sun was shining, and it was the perfect day to jump start the Summer Shape Up! My 16-month-old and I did HIIT with the jogging stroller this morning, and I just finished a modified version of the circuit. Still feeling great! Thanks for the awesome workout!!
