Friday faves + Jabra Rox giveaway
Hi! Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? Any fun parties or BBQs planned?? (Here’s a post with some healthy BBQ ideas if you’re planning ahead!)
We’ve had a wonderful time hanging out with the Pilot’s mama/MIL/Livi’s nana this past week. It’s been so much fun to show her around San Diego and enjoy time together. Since the Pilot has been gone frequently since we’ve been here, it took a little longer than we’d hoped to get her out here for a visit. Thankfully, it finally happened, and it’s been great to have her here.
Some faves from the week and around the web:
The Old Spice Guy’s ice bucket challenge video.
THIS HOBO. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and now it’s on s-a-l-e…
The science behind making the perfect cookie.
THIS WINE. We’re fans of the classic over here, but I was stoked to see the Midnight version at Baron’s. It is to diiieeee for; probably in my top five inexpensive reds. We’ll definitely be getting it again!
Finding my beloved eyebrow brush. This is a random thing to love so much, but my Anastasia stencil and eyebrow brush have been missing for a week. I unearthed them from under the makeup drawer, in the way, way back (along with a long lost lipgloss). It was like Christmas!
More reasons coconut oil is awesome.
Yoga Rave in Tucson! I love Session Yoga and the cause (Ben’s Bells); hoping to make it down there for this. If you live in Tucson or nearby, check out the details here. It’s going to be an incredible event.
Stability ball exercises for a strong back.
These earbuds. It was my first time trying wireless headphones, and man, I’ve been missing out! I’m notorious for getting my hands tangled in the wires while running, and violently ripping the earbuds out of my ears. It’s a little painful. I was pretty excited when Jabra ROX offered to send me a pair of their Bluetooth wireless headphones to try.
The sound is crystal clear and AMAZING. They’re also easy to set up and use. At first, I was worried they were too big for my ears, but after using the attachments, they stay put pretty well. I’m excited to see how they pass the “ear sweat” test on a distance run.
Jabra kindly offered a pair of these for a lucky reader as well (valued at $130!). To enter, just leave a comment below with your current favorite workout song and I’ll pick a lucky winner Monday night at midnight (EST).
Happy Friday! See ya later today for Fitness Fashion Friday.
xoxo

I am loving Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off”
currently obsessed with working out to chandelier by sia. catharsis at its finest 🙂
Anything by the Foo Fighters – their music makes me want to run faster and stronger!
Boom Clap! by Charli XCX. It has kind of a 90s vibe that always makes me want to dance!
Should I be ashamed? I’m loving Shake it Off.
I am currently loving Fancy by Iggy Azalea. Start every workout with it!
Pharrell’s “Happy!” song always gets me in the right mood to run:)
It’s ….All About that Bass! Love it! 🙂
Easy! Bailando! Always gets me dance running!
Usher’s “OMG.” I time it on my running playlist so it comes on right when I usually start getting tired, works every time!
Obsessed with Maps by Maroon 5. So catchy!
My current favorite work out song is David Guetta Play Hard featuring Ne-Yo and Akon. It gets my blood pumping and gets me ready to work out.
I am currently loving Bastille by Pompeii. Have a great weekend!
I am loving the new Taylor Swift song “Shake It Off”! It gets me totally pumped!
I’m still running to Nicki Minaj’s ‘Turn Me On,’ even after months it hasn’t gotten old.
I’m loving “I Mean IT” by G Eazy
Anything with a strong beat makes me move and groove more! I usually just put on the dance station on Pandora and go!
Happy! Always makes me pick up my pace!
I am loving Arianna Grande’s Break Free…she has an amazing voice!
I like anything shakira!
I’ve been getting bored with my usual Pandora stations, so I’ve ventured into the world of Spotify for my recent distance run. The station “Night Run” that put me into the perfect “get-lost-into-the-music” zone that I always need when I run long distance (I normally like dance or hiphop stations). Noteworthy song from it: “Begging for Thread” by Banks.
Chandelier by Sia…just gets me going!
Right now it’s Anaconda by Nicki Minaj. That beat is classic and what better motivation to tone up your booty!
“All about that Bass”!
I’m with you on ripping out my ear buds while running. It’s so annoying! that and them bouncing in my face. Ugh! Lately I’ve been loving All about the Bass. Can’t listen to it enough!
Anything speedy from Michael Buble…odd, I know. But so classy!!! 🙂
Anything on a Zumba playlist makes for awesome running music! I especially like “Bailando” by Enrique Iglesias right now!
All time fav is “If I Can’t” by 50 Cent. I have it at the end of many of my cardio playlists for an extra “oomph” finish 🙂
Meghan Trainor – All About the Bass!!!!
I cannot stop listening to Moviendo Caderas by Yandel which I think I first heard of on your blog! It’s gets me moving whether I’m running, hiking or driving to Crossfit.
Loving “Shake it off”
I am loving “Love Runs Out” by OneRepublic and Fall Out Boy always gets me moving. =)
Chandelier by Sia for sure!! Amazing song!
Shake it off by Taylor Swift has been my lead off song lately….
Run boy run – great beat for a run
Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass – I can’t get enough of it!
The Eye of the Tiger always adds a pep to my step.
We are just starting rehearsals for this year’s Nutcracker, so that’s what I have on repeat right now – that will be my ‘workout’ music for the next three months!
All of the songs on my Journey and more playlist from Amazon Prime streaming music. I love some 70s and 80s rock!
My current favorite is Toca’s Miracle by NickSkitz, Bass louder….gets me going for those spin climbs!
I love the song Bailando right now, and Nicki Minaj is always a great go-to for a run. If I’m trying to get pumped to lift, I listen to Jay-Z “99 Problems”.
I too have known the pain of ripped out earbuds. Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites by Skrillex is my go too when I need a boost to finish up a run.
I’m a big Taylor swift fan and Shake it off has been a fav.
Maps. Y Maroon 5 is what I’ve been jamming to in my workouts lately.
Danza Kuduro has been on every single workout playlist I have made since it came out. Love it!
Eminem’s Lose Yourself has been on my running playlist for as long as I can remember. Never gets old!
I hear you on that, I have such small ears and I cannot keep my head phones in when I run…EVER! I spend more time fixing them then enjoying the music.
I would have to say that my FAV running song is Who dat girl…There is just something about it that keeps me going when my brain say s-t-o-p! lol
I love to listen to the 80’s cardio station on Pandora!
I normally don’t listen to the EDM-genre of music, but I find it’s the best for working out!
i don’t usually listen to particular songs, but run to this techno mix based off the First Day to 5K training program, http://www.djsteveboy.com/gw28k.html . It is particularly great because I don’t have to pay attention to time – which I find really distracting while running.
