June 2015 Yoga Class Playlist

Hellooooo. How’s the day going?? I’m a little later blogging today because I had a dentist appointment (always a joy) and then met up with a friend for brunch. We had Naked Cafe, and the soy chorizo and egg white tacos rocked my world.

Brunch

I want this every day.

This week has been a little on the crazy side. We got back from VA late Sunday night, Monday morning the Pilot left for a work trip, and mom and nana left Tuesday morning. Then Liv is like, “Oh it’s just you now.” Hahah. It’s been just the girls this week, and while we’ve had a lot of fun, we definitely missed the man of the house. So happy he’s back today!

June yoga playlist

This weekend, I’m teaching my first yoga class (eeeeeee) and have been working at putting together a motivational yet Zen playlist. Here is it if you’d like to use it for your own at-home flow or stretch session, or even for working/productivity music.

Hope you enjoy! Have a lovely night and I’ll see you in the morning.

xoxo

Gina

Thanks for sharing the playlist ! I am always in class in a blissful moment and wonder what the music is !
Im sure you will create a relaxing environment. I teach here in New Zealand and music is one of the best tools for myself during class too .
    Best of luck !

OMG! I looove loove Krishna Das! I used to be obsessed with him a few years ago. Everytime I did my flow I would put him on. He’s just so good. Some of my other faves are a group called Wah!–they have a gorgeous version of Jai Ganesha; and Jai Uttal–of course will always be my fave as well. Another really good one is Tina Malia. She has a really sweet voice.
    XOXO

Oh man. I just spent all morning listening to a song from last night’s flow class. So good. Also your tacos are making me want my favorite seitan chorizo tacos from the vegan taco truck here!

    Good luck teaching!!

Nectar Drop is a fave of all the teachers at our studio! I might suggest if thats ok, being mindful with lyrics that speak or allude to drugs and alcohol, you never know if you’ll have a recovering person in your classes. Sorry if that’s harsh…not judging but lyrics can bet very triggering.

    • Fitnessista on June 5, 2015 at 5:29 pm

i didn’t even think of that. thank you so much for pointing it out!!

      • Samantha on June 8, 2015 at 6:28 am

I teach in an area with a high percentage of woman who have been sexually trafficked, and also teach in a drug addiction recovery center. So triggers are always on the brain. I hope the class went fantastically…lucky to students to get to be your first!

BEST of luck teaching yoga this weekend!! Excited for you and can’t wait to hear how it goes 🙂

Thanks for the playlist, too! Looks like a good mix of zen and motivation!

Nama Shivaya is one of my absolute favorite songs to play when teaching! If you didn’t have it on your list I was going to suggest it. lol. It’s perfect for after some stretches and a few sun salutations when you’re really flowing. 🙂

Hey Gina! Good luck on your first class! I am sure it will be great! I used to be able to do a full back-bend, but I have lost it over the years. My shoulders and hips are super tight. I know that the more I practice the better I get, but do you have any suggestions or exercises I can do to strengthen back up again for it? Thanks!

Am I the only one who doesn’t see the playlist here?

  17. Liz @ Justanotherblogaboutmomlife on May 1, 2017 at 10:04 am

Im so excited for you to be teaching yoga! I have so many faves for all different types of yoga classes but I always like “Orange Sky” by Alexi Murdoch which is a nice slower flow and I use a lot of Benjy Wertheimer (check out Radiance) for centering and savasana – nice wordless music only songs. Good luck I know you will rock it!

    • Fitnessista on May 1, 2017 at 7:37 pm

thank you so much! i was just listening to orange sky earlier today and love it. i will check out radiance now! thank you again 🙂
