Friday Faves

Hi friends! Happy Friday! Hope you’re enjoying the morning. New post up on the Family page here about core training during pregnancy.

What are you up to this weekend? It’s supposed to be another scorcher, so we ordered another portable AC unit and are planning on hanging out in the ocean as much as possible. We’re excited to see friends, enjoy some down time, and take our little ballerina and yogini to her classes.

Here are some of the faves from the week and around the web:

Naptime with noodle. This week, I’ve been worthless to the world by about noon, and Liv has surprised me with wanting to nap the past few days. (She hasn’t napped consistently in a couple of months now.) Instead of cranking through the to-do list as usual, I take my contacts out and lie down with her to crash out. It’s been amazing.

Naptime

Seasons 52 date with that one Pilot guy I really like. We went on TWO dates this week.. I don’t even know who we are.

I could eat their salmon salad every day:

and am thankful that the Pilot likes sharing multiple desserts with me. 🙂 It makes me think of the Orlando days when we’d tell the server to please leave the whole tray. They were like, “What?!”

You have to try all of the flavors at least once. The seasonal pumpkin was like Thanksgiving in a shot glass.

All the desserts

Simple lunchtime salad with romaine, strawberries, feta, pecans and fig balsamic vinegar:

Thank you to POPSUGAR for featuring my pumpkin chocolate chip bars! (These last about 24 hours in our house.)

Motherhood, screened off. This is something I often think about, especially since I enjoy reading books on my phone.

4 rituals that will make you a happier person.

Holiday gift sets are already arriving at Sephora and making me scary excited. I’m excited to check out this one and this one later today.

If Anna Kendrick’s tweets were motivational posters.

In love with this dress, but wondering if it looks too much like pajamas? Not that I don’t enjoy wearing clothes that double as sleepwear. 😉

Vegan friends, there’s a new egg substitute in town!

I’d love to hear any highlights from your week! What’s on the fitness plan this weekend? I’m hoping to catch a barre class later today, and am going to spend a lot of time working on Post Baby Bod. A few girls from the tester group are already finishing out the 12 weeks of workouts!

Happy happy Friday.

xoxo

I can’t imagine living in a house without a/c! Will you come decorate my house? I’m terrible about it. I actually told my Mom she should put up the Christmas tree for me before she leaves because I will probably not have time by the time they get back to Phoenix for the holidays.

right?! as a fellow arizonan, you get it 🙂 but since we live by the beach, AC out here is a rarity.
and yes! i’ll totally come decorate haha

I love the “motivational posters.” Anna Kendrick = the BEST.

Also – a nice wide belt would be just the thing to distinguish that dress as a dress instead of pajamas!

    • Fitnessista on October 9, 2015 at 9:45 am

      yeah, that’s a great idea!

A highlight of my week was attempting surfing for the first time…I was awful, but had a blast trying 🙂

    • Fitnessista on October 9, 2015 at 9:45 am

kudos to you for trying! i’ll paddle board all day but am a little freaked out to surf

      • Cara's Healthy Cravings on October 9, 2015 at 8:34 pm

Yes, paddle boarding is a good place to start, maybe I should give that a go, as it would definitely help with the balance issues.

      • Amanda Turner on October 9, 2015 at 10:26 am

My friday fave…my husband and I are BOTH off work this weekend and have no plans. We are so excited to sleep in tomorrow, it’s not even funny.

    • Fitnessista on October 9, 2015 at 9:44 am

that bowl of soup looks SO good, even though it’s going to be over 100 degrees here today in los angeles. your plan to spend as much time as possible at the beach this weekend is probably a very smart idea 😉

enjoy your last (!?) weekend before baby!

    • Fitnessista on October 9, 2015 at 9:43 am

yep! last weekend! so crazy 🙂
and yes, the soup was amazing. it’s supposed to be crazy hot here, too

  9. Arden on October 9, 2015 at 11:13 am

I just think you’re the cutest! I think I’ve commented once or twice but I read you every day. You have such a positive outlook on life. I don’t know what I’m going to do when you have your little one and you leave us for a bit! 🙂

Just wanted to say hi and thank you for brightening my day!

  10. Lisa @ Lisa the Vegetarian on October 9, 2015 at 11:21 am

Bella is still as cute as ever! I wish it was still hot as summer here too, but I can tell we’re descending into winter unfortunately. I would take sweltering heat over snow any day of my life!

  11. Kate on October 9, 2015 at 12:07 pm

Just made the pumpkin chocolate chip bars today. So good!

  12. Ashley @ A Lady Goes West on October 9, 2015 at 12:26 pm

True story: I ate a late dinner at the Seasons 52 in Dr. Phillips area of Orlando one night (back when I lived there), and our server gave us the entire tray for free because they were closing. That was a night to remember. 🙂 Happy Friday, Gina!

  13. Hilary on October 9, 2015 at 3:04 pm

I typically workout during the week before work, so I am so excited to have a relaxed cardio/lifting session in the gym tomorrow morning! I am hoping to get there early too, nothing like having a gym to yourself! Your pumpkin bars look so good by the way too!

  14. Erin on October 10, 2015 at 3:43 am

I’m so in love with Seasons 52! I go every Friday for take out and the manager knows my order just from my greeting. I’m bookending my weekend with Seasons trips.

    • Fitnessista on October 11, 2015 at 11:02 pm

      it’s the best!

  15. Erika S. on October 11, 2015 at 8:43 am

I’m all about shirt and sweater dresses. I say go for it. Add a skinny belt, leggings and knee boots…or belt, pantyhose/stocking tights and booties…you can totally dress it up & it won’t look like pjs…hahaha!

  16. Erin @ Her Heartland Soul on October 11, 2015 at 7:46 pm

I love Seasons 52! Their desserts are fabulous!
