Friday Faves

Hi friends! Happy Friday and helllloooooo from Tucson! It feels SO GOOD to be home and with the fam. It’s been a lot of fun watching Livi giggle with her nanas and introduce P to the relatives. I wouldn’t say the flight here was stress free, but we made it. 😉 Looking forward to an amazing weekend ahead.

For now, it’s time for the usual Friday Faves! It’s always fun to shout out some of the things I’ve read, wore, laughed at, and ate this week. As always, please feel free to join the party and share anything you’re loving in the comments section.

Paddleboarding 5

A major highlight of this week was hanging out with our friend Lindy. She came into town this week so we met up for paddle boarding, shopping and barre.

You should have seen us trying to fit both paddleboards into my car. It was pretty hilarious.

Paddleboarding

We paddled for an hour around Mission Bay, chatting and enjoying the perfect weather. It’s such a great way to catch up with friends. I saw a JELLYFISH while we were SUPping -thank goodness it wasn’t a larger creature- and we got a pretty killer arm workout pushing against the current on the way back.

(Wearing these shorts; on super sale at MyHabit)

An interesting post. (Strong language, but makes you think.)

Get in my face.

The ultimate guide to the new Liberty Station Public Market.

This cover up is even more amazing in person. The fabric is like swimsuit material, and it’s super light. I can already tell I’ll be living in it.

Maaji goodies

Ok, so I hate dinosaurs (like I’m petrified of them) but I loved this video.

I’ve been wanting clogs for over a year now, but have heard they take a while to break in. Does anyone have these?

Cowgirl Livi! During the auction for her school, we got a special day trip for her to visit a beloved teacher’s ranch. She got to ride a tractor, see the cows and pigs, and ride a horse. She was in heaven. Little miss has a special place in her heart for horses and it’s something I definitely want to help her cultivate.

Common nutrition myths.

Holler to Colleen who posted this on my Facebook wall. The best Zumba parody I’ve seen in a while, and song is catchy as heck haha.

Lavender ‘buch. It’s not quite as fizzy as some of the other flavors, but I love the burst of lavender flavor.

Lavender

(Wearing the new Alta. I really like it so far!)

These bird nests are so cute!

A great article to encourage reading, babbling, and simple play with kiddos.

Pump dat iron.

Pizza Port kale salad, grilled chicken leftovers from home, and wine, natch.

Non-meat sources of protein.

Cardio exercises you can do in your living room.

And now, the Miss P smile of the day. 🙂

Happy happy Friday friends!

Oh I’m so jealous of the paddleboarding! The Lulumon post was very eye-opening. We don’t have a Lulu store here, but I don’t know that I’d shop there now. I won’t darken the doors of Abercrombie for the same reason. Love the ranch trip you got for Liv at her auction! What a fabulous idea! And I challenge anyone to scroll over P’s Smile of the Day & not grin yourself. <3 Have a great time in Tucson! Can't wait to hear all about it.

    • Fitnessista on March 25, 2016 at 8:55 am

Like the author, I keep giving them another chance but hear things like this. I’ve been hanging out at Lorna Jane a lot more 🙂
Thank you! She had so much fun. Happy Friday!

On the clog note…I have these, Lotta From Stockholm Swedish Clogs, from amazon and LOVE them! The price is great and I didn’t feel like they took tooooo long to break in.

    • Fitnessista on March 25, 2016 at 10:26 am

oh amazing! i was looking at those, too. how is the sizing?

      • Sara S on March 28, 2016 at 12:43 pm

this was from a couple of days ago but I usually wear a size 7 shoe and got a size 38 🙂 The shipping took a little while…maybe 2 weeks?

        • Fitnessista on March 28, 2016 at 5:59 pm

          awesome- thanks, girl!

Looks like an awesome trip. Love the cover-up and have to try the Lavender ‘buch!

Interesting article about Lululemon. My husband loves the men’s yoga shorts from there, and wears them all the time. I’m currently a size 10, and I hate going in there. After all the controversy with the see-through pants, I’m embarrassed to even walk in the door. It would probably be fine, but I just don’t even want to deal with trying things on somewhere and having to deal with the possibility that nothing in the store would fit me. I’ve lost about 25 pounds and hopefully will continue to lose weight, but I don’t know if I will ever shop there. For whatever reason, it’s always given me the impression of, “you’re not quite good enough to shop here.” Maybe that’s my own issue, but it’s enough that I’ll spend my money elsewhere.

    • Fitnessista on March 28, 2016 at 6:00 pm

i feel like the vibe has definitely gotten weird. it didn’t used to be like that
