7/3: Meals and fitness for the week

Hi friends! Hope you’re having a wonderful long weekend. 🙂 We went to the fair last night (so fun!!), and are meeting up with friends to celebrate the 4th. Hope that you’ve enjoyed the weekend so far, too.

I’m back this morning with meals and fitness for the upcoming week! I always love getting new ideas for recipes, so if you’ve tried anything awesome lately (or have your own recipe to share) please link away.

Healthy and balanced meal and fitness plan

Here’s what the week looks like for fitness:

Sunday: Teach Zumba

Monday: Orangetheory

Tuesday: Teach cardio barre (maybe add in strength depending on Monday’s OTF workout)

Wednesday: Teach Spin

Thursday: Teach cardio barre (+ lower or upper body strength depending on Tuesday’s workout)

Friday: OFF

Saturday: Strength (no cardio)

Workout2 5

As far as meals go, we did a pretty good job sticking with the plan last week. The only thing I didn’t end up making was the coconut curry shrimp, and we had an easy pasta night thrown in there.

Here’s what the meal plan is looking like:

Breakfasts:

Egg burritos

B-fast cookie dough cereal (so easy and so good!!)

Crustless quiche (freeze in portions to easily reheat and eat)

Lunches and snacks aren’t anything super exciting, just so that I will actually make them: 😉

Big salads or smoothies (not going too crazy this week)

Protein yogurt

Almonds + fruit

Hummus and veg

Buffalo hummus 1 of 1 2

Dinners:

Loaded 21dayfix pizza

Honey mustard, chicken, bacon, and avocado salad

Shrimp with peanut noodles and broccoli

Sweet potato and black bean enchiladas with zucchini

Lemon rosemary salmon with roasted veggie packs and sweet potatoes

Salmon in parchment 1 of 1 4

So tell me friends: what’s on the menu this week? What are you making for the 4th festivities?

Leave your weekly fitness plan in the comments below, and if you need help planning or shuffling around workouts, let me know!
xoxo

I grilled salmon last night for salads this week. Today I’m making zucchini salsa turkey burgers with salsa Greek yogurt for topping and sweet potato fries. I’m teaching spin a lot this week too. A lot of people out of town this week!

Happy 4th Gina!! I hope you guys have a great rest of your weekend! 🙂 I have some empty PB containers so I think ill make cookie dough cereal with those for bfast and add in fresh strawberries i got at the farmers market yesterday. For snacks, Ive been loving all the fresh fruits!! Lunches are usually either leftovers from dinner or some sort of egg dish since I typically don’t have a ton of time for them in the morning! (I need my egg fix) For dinners I am going to try a new pasta recipe, make chicken with green beans and rice, taco tuesday night, and homemade pizza with a big salad! Happy Sunday!!

Thanks for bringing your weekly meals & fitness as a regular post Gina! It’s always inspiring! While I generally have a meal/fitness plan, I had gotten off track with writing it down and posting it on the fridge where I see it several times daily. I find that always helps me and these posts have brought me back to doing that simple effective step.

no prob- so happy to hear you enjoy it! i’m the same way. it helps me so much just to write it all down

I made this over the weekend: Bacon Lime Sweet Potato Salad — AH-mazing!! I think it’s the dill that really makes it unique. Have a good holiday!

I am so happy to see this salmon recipe! I usually don’t get it often but picked some up last night. So excited to serve the lemon rosemary salmon over salad 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

I’ll be making bacon wrapped dates for a 4th of July party today! They’re always a hit.

    Hi!
I’m excited to try out OTF for the first time this week! I’m also 2.5 months PP….so I hope I don’t regret it 🙁 Any advice?

Also, are you wearing the new NB Zante? I’m in the market for a running shoe, but have NO CLUE where to look! Are you happy with the NB?
    Thanks so much!!

    • Fitnessista on July 5, 2016 at 11:00 pm

let me know how you like OTF!! take it easy. walk during the treadmill portions and i’d watch the core work. i would probably modify by doing marches, modified plank (maybe, depending on strength), and spinal balance instead of any of the full sit-ups or crunches (i would definitely avoid any oblique work like bicycles, too). i hope you love it!
i’ve been wearing the fresh foam zante for cross training and strength for about a year now?? it’s definitely my current favorite shoe

I ran yesterday and today. Yoga tomorrow night, and hopefully more running on Thursday. And then Friday and Saturday I’ll be burning the calories while walking around Chicago!

  9. Crystal on July 4, 2016 at 8:28 pm

It’s hot and humid AF here, so I’m going to be bringing back the bfast cookie this week since it doesn’t involve heat! Love those.
Also going to try Sunbasket meals for the first time, we’ll see how that goes. Happy Independence Day and have a great week!
