Friday Faves

Hi friends! Happy happy Fri-YAY! What are you up to this weekend? I hope my east coast friends are staying safe. <3

I’m taking a hot yoga class later today (yessss), we’re heading to the pumpkin patch with some friends, and are planning on Cafe Gratitude. I’m so ready for a giant bowl of goodness + some vegan desserts.

Thank you again for all of your awesome support with the new ebook! The price goes up on Sunday if you want to snag yours for $9.99

Also, I’ve been hard at work on a little freebie that will be going out to my PBB newsletter subscribers next week. I’m so excited to share it with you, and it’s one of a few projects I’ve had up my sleeve. More to come soon. 🙂

Fitnessista's Guide to Prenatal and Postpartum Core Training

In standard Friday fashion, here are some faves from the week and around the web! I always love to hear what you’re enjoying, too, if you’d like to join in the fun in the comments section.

#1 THE PILOT IS HOME TODAY. He was gone this week, so it was just the girls around here.

The least-blurry selfie I could muster:

Me and the girls blurry selfie

I need to pace myself a little on the productivity front when the Pilot is away. On Monday, both girls got baths and I made dinner here at home, but by Wednesday we were eating Panera from Postmates. #survivalmode

This actually ended up being the least stressful of his work trips for me, because I got subs for my fitness classes. Usually I’ll get a babysitter, and it’s a little hectic making sure dinner is done, and jammies, etc. are ready to go before I leave to teach. Or I’ll take them to kids’ club at the gym (which is awesome), but don’t like the fact that they’re there for longer than an hour if I’m teaching. I’ve never done this before, but just decided to get subs for the week. I missed my classes, but it ended up being the right choice. We could just enjoy the evenings together and the stress level was WAY way down. I’m excited to be back in teaching action next week.

at the gym

Since I wasn’t at classes during the evening, we did a lot of fun activities together: went out for ice cream, played at the park, picked up more Halloween decorations, explored the OB farmers market, and ran around at Liberty Station. It was perfect. <3

Halloween decor

succulents

flower pots

P eating banana

(How cute is the mushroom shirt??)

various drinkware at Pier 1

(Loved everything in this display at Pier 1!)

Livi with flowers

(the sweetest flower girl)

More faves:

Friends, we have a Liberty Station poke bowl problem. It’s everything I could wish for.

Poke all day

Alicia Keys on The Voice. So I love everything about The Voice as is -as long as Adam and Blake are there, I’m cool- and have really loved seeing Alicia Keys on the show. You know the saying, “Watch who’s clapping at your successes?” This is SO her. Even when the contestants choose another coach, she claps and cheers so enthusiastically, you’d think they picked her. She’s just genuinely excited and thrilled for everyone who makes it onto the show. Even though I wll say, if Alicia turns for you, YOU PICK Alicia Keys.

GreenFix. I’ve loved this smoothie from the farmers market for a couple of years now, but have never bought a large container. If anything, I get a glass to enjoy while we walk around. Green fix

This week, I decided to go for it and bought a jug. It has been awesome with breakfast each day.

Reasons to try Orangetheory.

Avocado pesto is happening asap.

I’ve been in the market for a neutral cardigan, and I think this is the winner.

Loved this. I think we’re all doing better than we think we are.

Interesting tips on balancing hormones. (The barefoot stretch at 6am made me lol because 6am is not happening, and the mornings equal racing from bed to make a bottle and change a diaper. I did enjoy the other tips though.)

My favorite mascara was included in Allure’s Best of Beauty. As I’ve mentioned on the blog many times, my eyes are super sensitive and get easily irritated with eye makeup. This is the ONLY mascara I can wear every day without major irritation. The wand shape is unique and doesn’t cause clumping, and it lasts really well, even through super sweaty workouts.

Wearing my favorite Beauty Counter mascara

Speaking of sensitive eyes, this may seem like such a little/random thing, but I switched to daily contact lenses and they have rocked.my.world. My eyes aren’t as dry and irritated, which has been a game changer. I’m so glad my optometrist suggested giving it a try since I’ve been wearing the same style and brand of contacts for like 10 years. Change can be good. 🙂

Why ignoring workout stats can be a good thing.

Cool, now I want allthetacos.

farmers market produce

This lower body circuit looks awesome.

Fellow awkwards will understand.

Hope you have a very happy Friday!

What’s something you’ve eaten, worn, enjoyed, or read this week? 🙂

xoxo

I’m not sure I’m a big fan of Miley on the show, but I do love Alicia! This week was a lot of resting and school work and still trying to walk post surgery. I seem to be able to do everything, but walk and it’s so frustrating. Who would think something so simple, would be so very hard?

  6. Meagan @ My Life as Mrs on October 7, 2016 at 12:20 pm

I’m impressed with Alicia! I’m like man, if I were on the show, she’d be my pick no matter what! She comes across so nurturing! I think she has, hands down, the best team!

    • Meagan @ My Life as Mrs on October 7, 2016 at 12:21 pm

I just realized I ended every sentence with a “!” haha. I guess I’m just really excited about her!

  7. Jessie R on October 7, 2016 at 12:44 pm

Great selfie of you and the girls! Daily contacts are the only way to go! My eyes are the same way, they have made a world of difference. Have a great weekend and pick lots of pumpkins :).

  8. adrianna on October 7, 2016 at 6:24 pm

as an optometrist, i recommend dailies to (almost) everyone…they are life changing! when i switched as an optometry student, it was such a difference! comfort, convenience, and they truly are the most healthy option for your eyes. i know for some they are expensive but i think they’re so worth the cost. and when you figure in solutions, etc ends up being nearly the same. i love mine so much. so glad to hear this 🙂
also, I’ve said this before…youre girls are so. gorgeous. gah!

    • adrianna on October 7, 2016 at 6:25 pm
