The belly continues to grow and the baby continues to dance and kick away. It’s crazy because now I can tell how long she is in my belly. Last night, she was kicking on my right side and doing something on my left side at the same time. Insane…and awesome.

The Pilot finally got to understand how much our little girl likes chicken/poultry. When I was eating last night’s turkey burger, I told him that she would start flipping at any moment. I hadn’t even finished my dinner before the dance party started.

“Come here and feel this!! It’s crazy”

“Oh my god! You weren’t joking. She’ll get her love of veggies and chocolate from her mama, and she’ll appreciate a good steak like her dad.”

Here we go 🙂

Updates for this week:

-I’m running out of clothes. My bottoms and dresses still fit me –jeans are a little tight but my crops are ok if I do the button hole trick- but shirts are a different story. My lululemon tanks almost all still work [thank goodness for stretchy luon] but as far as *real* clothes go, I’m running out. Last night I was getting ready for bed, and put on a matching tank and shorts set of jammies. The tank that used to fit was now a midriff with my belly hanging out the botto- Tom and I laughed pretty hard about that one. Guess I need to invest in some real, maternity tops and/or dresses. My shower is coming up in November and I think it would be nice to wear an outfit that fits me 😉

-I’m still loving the belly rubs, but am so sick of hearing what people think about my belly’s size. It’s never ok to comment on a woman’s size when she’s not pregnant, so why is it suddenly ok when she is? It’s just funny because some people tell me my belly is so small, and other people ask how many babies are in there. A work supervisor (!) came up to me after Zumba on Saturday –after a group of ladies stayed after to tell me how much they loved class and they can’t believe I’m still rocking it out pregnant- and said “I just can’t get over how big you are. How far along are you? Almost 7 months? I was never that big.” What do you even say to that? “Good for you?” I felt really warm and fuzzy after that one.

-Current cravings: the same. I’m so boring this week, haha. Tom has had many pregnancy cravings, though.

-Weight gained: not sure, but my guess is around 17 lbs. I’ll find out at the midwives’ this week.

-The nesting urge has hit me with a bang- I’m so excited to get the nursery put together. We picked out our crib yesterday from Babies ‘R Us:

I love the fact that the changing table is attached to the crib, since the nursery is fairly small.

Today, I also embarked on my first house-related DIY project: hanging letters of the baby’s name.

I had seen this done in quite a few friends’ nurseries and thought it would be something to personalize the room, but easy to take down since she’ll be moving to her own room eventually and the nursery will become an office [or nursery for the next baby].

Flourish Hanging Letters Source

[Nope, little nugette will not be named “Tatum”, just wanted to show an example]

On a baby website, I entered the name we had chosen, along with ribbon and color selections and the grand total: $176, not including shipping. For letters and ribbon. No way.

So I’m going to attempt to make my own, which could either be a huge success or a great fail.

First stop was at Michael’s to get the supplies:

and the total was already far less: $42. I’m thinking I can finish the project for under $70.

Letters:

and paint.

I picked out colors to match the bedding and am still trying to decide if I’ll do each letter differently, or do every other letter like the one pictured above.

It blows my mind that’s almost October already. Once we get to the end of October, it’s going to be a blink of an eye and she’ll be here. Tom’s birthday, our date-aversary (yeah, we celebrate it), my bday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Baby. Lots of little things to look forward to along the way, before the best surprise of all <3

I think you said Guiliana (Rancic?) is your style icon…so I’m going with her name! (It is a beautiful name!) 🙂 🙂

I think you look absolutely adorable.

OMG, that’s TOTALLY the crib I picked out for my little bump! LOVE IT!

I’ve only been reading your blog for two weeks (found the link on the Women’s Health site) and it has been so motivating for me to stay fit and healthy for my pregnancy. Thanks for all the great info, and enjoy all things “life”! 🙂

  3. Sam on September 28, 2011 at 10:35 am

    My guess is Lainey

No, it’s not ok to comment on tummy size. When I was pregnant my office manager would comment every time she saw me that she had “never seen anyone as big as me.” Great. Thanks for that. I have never understood why people feel that they can say whatever comes to mind to a pregnant woman.

    You look ah-mazing!!!
My name guess WAS going to be Ariel but if 5 letter were going to cost $176 then I must be way off 😉

  8. AJB on September 28, 2011 at 4:32 pm

So many possibilities with those letters, but since my name includes them all… I’ll guess Amelia.

  9. Molly on September 28, 2011 at 5:57 pm

My guess is Amalia, or Amelia! (I have Amelia picked out for my way-in-the-future baby!)
I think the best retort for rude people who make comments about your baby belly is to tell them that every woman carries her baby differently!

  10. melissa on September 28, 2011 at 7:22 pm

    I guess Isabella!!!!!

  11. Madre on September 28, 2011 at 7:37 pm

    Hi my BEAUTIFUL Daughter!
My heart is full of happiness, love, pride and a little envy (I was sooo insecure with my baby bumps) in the way you are living your pregnancy journey. You’re the poster woman for glowing and healthy! Thank you for sharing the joy, wonderment and fun on your family page.
I hope the imbecile co-worker that has made these little snide constant remarks, has read (lurker) all of the wonderful and true comments from women who have had to deal with the same insensitive remarks during and after their pregnancies. Try to treat those negative times as you would a smelly diaper! (picture scrunched, ‘I can’t smell or look at you’ face & walk away)
Giving the gift of exercise, sweat , eating right and dancing our baby’s condo all the way to January will bring the greatest reward to you! And I know her name!!! Love it!! and LOVE you so much, Madre

      madre!!
i love when you comment 🙂
and love you so much <3

    My guess is Olivia 🙂

  13. Janiek on September 29, 2011 at 5:39 am

If the name is alissa, I’m going to be laughing so hard, because that is the baby name I’m saving up! haha. Ehm… other guesses: allison, Aliana, Laila?

  14. Nicole Rodriguez (@Nicole2112) on September 29, 2011 at 12:09 pm

My guess is Alexis! That’s my daughter’s name and it’s the most beautiful name ever…
    🙂

Oh Gina, I LOVE that crib/changing table!! It’s just beautiful! You have such great taste! Her name wall-hanging will look great, too, I’m sure – love the style of letters you picked out & the fabric.

  16. Kat on September 29, 2011 at 5:14 pm

Girl, I think people just say stuff like that (how big you are or are not, how many babies are in there) because they think it’s funny. I get the same thing – questions about twins (because they really aren’t that common, I think the idea just interests people?) and how BIG (because I don’t already feel like a fat beached whale!) I am, or how I’m hardly showing. I think you just have to ignore it? It’s annoying because even before I was preggo, I never would have told someone she looked big. how rude!

  17. Carrie on September 29, 2011 at 5:32 pm

You are out-of-this world gorgeous Miss Gina!!! 🙂

Catching up on your blog today…so much to read…so…much…awesome….

God bless you, the Pilot, and the Nugette. So excited for you guys. 🙂

    • Fitnessista on September 29, 2011 at 9:24 pm

thank you, carrie! we’re so excited 🙂

I did letters for my daughter. I did each different, but the same colors on each. I did daisies, ladybugs, stripes, swirls, etc. One pattern was a little more intricate that I got out of hubby’s celtic carving book which I blew up on the copier then used tracing/transfer paper to put it on the letter. I LOVE them. Allison/Allie was my intial guess, but I read the first comment and I love the name Guiliana and I want to guess that now, too since it’s so pretty! happy crafting!

  19. Kristin on September 29, 2011 at 10:35 pm

    My guess is Hailey!

  20. Krysta on September 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm

I think the name project will turn out super cute. Looking forward to seeing the finished product! I think I second the Olivia guess. Or maybe Laila!

  21. Rachel on October 3, 2011 at 11:17 am

    Laila!

  22. RachelG on September 3, 2015 at 1:07 pm

I was looking at your old baby posts and saw that we’re getting the same crib as you (same price even after almost 4 years :P)! 🙂 Did you like it?
