San Diego is in the top 3 places I’d love to live.

It was a combo of the most relaxing and most stressful day. Liv got sick for the first time ever -she had an entire banana this morning (not the first time)- but it didn’t quite agree with her. I think we’re all a little traumatized from the fruit.

Counting down the days until Mustache March is over 😉

Liv is so photogenic! Those pictures are too cute! Hope she’s feeling better!

That sweater on Liv…I can’t even handle the cuteness. I hope she feels better! She’s growing so fast! San Diego looks so amazing, I’ve never been to CA at all but hope to someday!

    • Fitnessista on March 17, 2013 at 11:22 pm

thank you! yes, she needs to slow down on the whole growing thing

Looks like the weather is gorgeous! You definitely look like you are having a good time. It makes me so anxious for our vacation this week and I can’t wait!

My little guy had a similar incident with a banana, our bed and my pajamas last week. I am still traumatized. He’s only gotten sick like that twice and calls it “spitting”. Which is too darn cute.

After my husband participated in Movember last year I never want to see facial hair on him again! It’s too darn itchy. For you sake I pray that he gives up and shaves. 🙂

I hope the rest of your family time in San Diego is amazing!

    • Fitnessista on March 17, 2013 at 11:21 pm

i keep trying to think of ways to bribe him.

  5. Abby on March 17, 2013 at 11:20 pm

    Liv is such a doll!
That mustache on the other hand is killing me haha. My husband plays softball on a team with guys he works with and they’ve all been growing their mustaches out “for luck”. Lord help us.

    • Fitnessista on March 17, 2013 at 11:21 pm

      for luck! hahah

  6. kari hanson on March 17, 2013 at 11:20 pm

Ha! I was wondering about the ‘stache!

  7. Leslie W on March 17, 2013 at 11:22 pm

Tell him it makes her face red when he smooches her like I did to my hubby. 😉 Love the pics!

  8. Hannah on March 17, 2013 at 11:29 pm

That’s my neighborhood! Today was such a beautiful day.

I didn’t even notice the mustache!

Breakfast looks good, where did you go?

    • Fitnessista on March 17, 2013 at 11:32 pm

so awesome that you live here!
      the cottage – it’s our fave 🙂

  9. Lisa on March 17, 2013 at 11:33 pm

Haha Mustache March, I must be honest and say it’s my least favorite month, well it’s a tie between that and Movember. Not a stache lover, myself.
Ah, I’d absolutely dream to live in San Diego! It’s one of my dream destination, and Canada just isn’t cutting it for me;)

  10. Allison @ Train Eat Repeat on March 17, 2013 at 11:37 pm

    wow the weather looks amazing!
I’m glad you explained the mustache, because I was going to ask but didn’t want to be rude! haha

  11. Heather on March 17, 2013 at 11:42 pm

Moustache March is a thing now??

    • Fitnessista on March 17, 2013 at 11:47 pm

it’s pretty common, but more when the guys are deployed. our squadrons do it every year.. and every year my husband looks like a creeper 😉

      • Heather J on March 18, 2013 at 10:19 am

haha. Too bad you have to endure the stache twice a year! Good luck 🙂

  12. Julie on March 17, 2013 at 11:50 pm

What a fun day, and what awesome pictures! I hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation!

  13. Rochelle on March 17, 2013 at 11:57 pm

I <3 San Diego! I was lucky enough/smart enough to move there for college. It is really the most amazing city. The only reason I moved was because my whole family lived 12 hours away…to far for me

  14. Karissa on March 17, 2013 at 11:58 pm

Ah I hope Liv feels better!! 🙁 No fun!
Ha ha I got lucky this year and he decided not to do mustache March this time around (probably due to my begging and pleading 😉 )… next year, I may not be so lucky.
The pictures are beautiful, San Diego is a wonderful place, it doesn’t really even feel like Southern California, it’s just so pretty and unique. Glad you are getting to enjoy a vacation there!

  15. Lucie@fitswisschick on March 18, 2013 at 2:17 am

Oh I am sorry for Liv! Hope she is feeling better. Theics are adorable and beautiful!! I spent 4 months in San Diego years ago and still think it would be my fave place to live!

  16. Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie on March 18, 2013 at 6:25 am

Wow Dan Diego is beautiful! I hope Livi is feeling better!

  17. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on March 18, 2013 at 7:29 am

Aw poor Liv! I hope she’s feeling better.

I’ve never even been to San Diego, but I can just tell from everything I’ve seen/heard about it that I would love to live there!

  18. Missy on March 18, 2013 at 7:35 am

Did your Lean Mean leg workout plus HIIT Blitz today. Love it! I can practically feel the saddlebags melting away!

  19. Jess on March 18, 2013 at 8:01 am

I lived there twice. It is lovely, but Australia will always have my heart. Hope you’re all feeling better it is hard work with a sick little one.

  20. Laurie on March 18, 2013 at 8:04 am

Hey! I HAD to comment that the BEST and FRESHEST fish tacos I have ever had are in La Jolla at El Pescador Fish Market. I consider myself an aficionado 😉 The have huge portions of flaky grilled fish, fresh corn tortillas, avocado, crunchy cabbage slaw, ugh I could go on. Do yourself a favor and go nab one! I heart San Diego too 🙂

  21. Jodie on March 18, 2013 at 8:04 am

Hope Liv is feeling better. San Diego looks awesome.
I have always wanted to visit. Enjoy the rest of the week.

  22. Shari on March 18, 2013 at 8:12 am

    San Diego looks positively beautiful!

    Hope Liv feels better soon!

  23. Kim on March 18, 2013 at 8:21 am

    Gorgeous pictures!!
Poor Liv – I hope it was a short term thing! It is never fun when one of your kids is sick – such a helpless feeling as a parent!

  24. Bethany on March 18, 2013 at 8:23 am

My hubs only grows the nasty stach on deployment…hopefully that won’t be a tradition at his new squadron! 🙂 We move to San Diego, Oceanside, in 2 months! Love these posts…I can’t wait to get there. The hubs is actually flying the birds to Yuma this week and has some extra days before he has a flight back to NC, so he is renting a car to check out the housing at Pendleton…wish I could join him! So thrilled to live in California for a few years, even though I’m sad to leave my amazing military wives here…but I know they will be friends for life!

    • Amanda on March 18, 2013 at 2:01 pm

I live in Oceanside! Welcome!!!!! 🙂

The picture of Liv and the Pilot made me realize … holy cow … we have KIDS. Straight up toddler action in that photo. Where did the baby go?!

  26. Erin @ Axell's Kitchen on March 18, 2013 at 9:21 am

Poor Liv and oh mustache March..

Haha! I haven’t heard of mustache March, only Movember! Looks like a great day! I have spent a little time in San Diego, and I agree. I love it!

  30. Marian on March 18, 2013 at 10:04 am

Adorable pictures!! I can’t believe how much Liv has grown up!

  31. Kerry @ Totes My Oats on March 18, 2013 at 10:18 am

Love these pictures! Livi is just adorable and looks like such a happy little girl!

  32. Elizabeth M. on March 18, 2013 at 10:40 am

Looks SO fun! I miss Cali so much 🙂 Liv is just so sweet and happy!

But seriously, who is the creeper with the mustache following you guys in all these pictures? 😉 My husband will grow one every once in a while and it drives me CRAZY. And it doesn’t help that he is a redhead so he has a weird red mustache that just looks weird. I always joke that the only point of Movember and Mustache March is to remind us all that even the most normal looking guys can look like total creepers with a mustache haha.

  33. cassi on March 18, 2013 at 11:09 am

You guys look so precious together. 🙂 Such an amazing mommy and daddy liv have!

  34. Sarah @ Yogi in Action on March 18, 2013 at 11:21 am

Great pics of San Diego! I’ve always wanted to go and it looks like a great family trip.

I’ve never heard of Mustache March before- and I hope my boyfriend never does 😉

  35. Debbi on March 18, 2013 at 11:44 am

My daughter is stationed in San Diego, Cornado Beach! What are your other two places to live?

  36. Caroline @ Capture the Cadence on March 18, 2013 at 1:11 pm

Aw! I hope you’re having a fabulous time in San Diego! We truly have some amazing gems! I remember reading your other SD posts, so I’m glad you come back to visit often!
What is the #1 restaurant you would suggest to go to in La Jolla?
You should def come back years from now when Liv can snorkel. There are more beautiful fish than you think!

  37. Amy Ramos on March 18, 2013 at 4:10 pm

Ha! Of course the first thing I notice is The Pilot’s ‘stach. Not a fan.

    Love San Diego!!

  38. Caehle on March 18, 2013 at 6:01 pm

First of all, Pilot’s ‘stache will fit RIGHT in in San Diego!

Umm, I’m not sure what your plans are while you’re in SD/if every moment is carved out, but if not, The Bar Method Solana Beach studio (about 15 mins north of La Jolla) would LOVE to offer you a free class or two! I’m a new instructor there and have been following your blog religiously for a few years now 🙂 Regardless of whether you can make it or not, have a great trip!

  39. Lindsay Parker on March 18, 2013 at 9:25 pm

Where did you get Liv’s adorable sweater?

    • Fitnessista on March 18, 2013 at 11:19 pm

  40. Kate on March 19, 2013 at 12:28 pm

These pictures are making me excited! My husband and I are moving to San Diego next month!

Sorry Liv got sick but glad you guys had a good time!

  41. Anna on March 19, 2013 at 5:56 pm

I lived in San Diego for almost 10 years and just recently moved to New York City! NYC is great, but there are many times when my heart yearns for San Diego so much! The Cottage was definitely my favorite place to get brunch! And the beaches, oh the beaches are just beautiful! If you ever get a chance, check out Snooze in Hillcrest for brunch. It is pretty new, I believe it opened up sometime last year 🙂

  42. Tasha on March 19, 2013 at 11:15 pm

aw how fun! I know exactly where you were…I got married about .2 miles down the road from the seals on Sunday 3/17 🙂
