A salad a day + have you ever?

Hi! Loved your comments from this morning’s post (and the BILL MURRAY STORIES. So good!) <3 Hope you’ve had a great Wednesday so far!

The “salad in a jar” idea has worked out well in our house. I finished my third and last one today, and feel like they’ll be a new staple in my Sunday prep. The lettuce was still crunchy, everything was gloriously flavored, and it’s been convenient to pour and eat instead of taking the time to chop and/or assemble. I add a little protein or leftovers,

Salad 1 of 1 28

(that was leftover 5-spice chicken from last night)

and lunch is served!

This morning, Liv and I met up with Whitney and Wynston to hit up her favorite juice place: Señor Mangos.

Photo 125

They have a fantastic selection of juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, and fruit bowls; everything is made fresh using 100% fruit and vegetable juice. The prices are fantastic, too! Usually a juice will be about $8 at any of the juice spots, and I got my juice + Liv’s smoothie for $7. Amazing!

(The green juice, which had kale, cucumber, ginger, celery and lemon)

Since I don’t have any new workouts or recipes for ya this afternoon -got some in the works for tomorrow!- I thought it would be fun to play a little “have you ever?” game. Maybe I’m creepy/nosy, but I love reading little tidbits about blogger friends 😉 Here are 4 “have you ever?” questions + my answers.

Have you ever…

eaten an insect? Yes! Mexican chapulines (aka grasshoppers) they were kind of delicious.

… traveled alone? I travel by myself often, but its usually with an event or plans to meet up with someone at the destination. The only time I’ve truly traveled alone, and was solo for the duration of the trip, was when I went to Canyon Ranch in Lenox. It was beautiful to have some solitude, be alone with my thoughts and fully enjoy the experience.

… had braces? 3 times! Aaaaand, I still have a bit of an overbite.

… gotten a ticket? I got my first ticket EVER last week. It was a parking ticket left on my windshield. Derp.

… been in a fitness competition? I threw this in here because I feel like it’s commonly asked in the fitness world and is also something I’ve been thinking about lately. One of my good friends just did a fitness competition and did it by eating REAL foods and properly fueling and hydrating herself. If I decided to go for it, I’d love to do something similar. I’ve also heard that it’s a very political world/experience, so I’m not really sure I jump into that dance, ya know?

Your turn! Have you ever eaten an insect, traveled alone, had braces, gotten a ticket or been in a fitness competition? I can’t wait to read these 🙂

xoxo

Gina

I had to get braces twice to and my teeth/jaw are still not “right”. So annoying!

  2. Cara's Healthy Cravings on June 18, 2014 at 6:36 pm

Insect: I have eaten Bondaegee in Korea, it’s a silk worm larvae that is a common snack. It smells really bad and does not taste that great either 😉

Haven’t really traveled alone, but know I would love it!

    Braces, never!

Ticket: Only one, the day after I got my license. The cop was stationed at the bottom of a hill and nailed me for 40km over…boo! Luckily my dad is a lawyer and helped me get the ticket reduced.

Fitness Comp.: Never been and am not really interested in competing, though I do sort of find it fascinating.

    • Michelle on June 19, 2014 at 3:24 am

You’re brave! I used to live in Korea, and know all about silk worm larvae. The smell was so terrible (even from down the street from where they were being roasted), I could never bring myself to try one! I did however send cans of it home for other people to try 🙂

  3. Heidi on June 18, 2014 at 6:45 pm

Insect: I guess I ate an ant during Air Force survival school; however, there were also huckleberries out at the time, so I’m sure you can guess what I ate instead.

Traveled alone: Yup — several times in the last few years. Generally the traveling alone is to the end destination, but that has involved international travel a few times. I don’t mind it.

    Braces: Nope!

Ticket: Sigh. Yes. Two speeding tickets in 35mph zones. I definitely use my cruise control these days in that particular zone.

Fitness Comp: Nope, and I don’t intend to either. Just not an interest.

  4. Pip {Cherries & Chisme} on June 18, 2014 at 6:50 pm

    … eaten an insect?
    Not deliberately!

    … traveled alone?
Yep! Before University I spent 5 months travelling around the world, I went on my own although some parts were in groups. And now I’m just coming to the end of 6 months spent interning in Buenos Aires solo! Travel addict over here…

    … had braces?
    Nope!

    … gotten a ticket?
    Again nope, luckily!

… been in a fitness competition?
I rowed pretty seriously from the age of 14 until I left University, it was pretty awesome as I got to compete all over the place – all over the UK, France, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Tunisia (randomly), USA! I feel very lucky!

Love the salad in a jar idea! Super clever.

  5. Diana on June 18, 2014 at 6:58 pm

Insect: no, but I recently promised my friend I’d eat one when I travel to Southeast Asia.

Travel alone: I just did! My 30th birthday/Christmas/ Masters graduation present to myself was a 3 week vacation in Paris, London, and a tour of Ireland. I had never done anything like it, but found it so empowering (on top of the amazing sights and food!). It was my first time staying in a hostel (I had such a positive, eye-opening experience), and the first time traveling with a bunch of strangers (the tour of Ireland, as I was afraid to drive on the opposite side of the road). Now I have amazing memories and pictures, as well as new friends from all over the world! I’ve been back for 2 days and am already thinking of where ting next!

Braces: no, but I thought they were cool!

Ticket: I recently got my first one for speeding. I’m due in court in a few weeks ;((

  6. Megan @ The Skinny-Life on June 18, 2014 at 7:24 pm

Never eaten an insect, yes have traveled alone & actually it’s pretty liberating although somewhat lonely, braces for five years and my teeth are still crocked and never been in a it ness competition.

  7. Livi on June 18, 2014 at 7:40 pm

Fitness competitions seem so intense. I hate that so many women do it an unhealthy way!

  8. Amy on June 18, 2014 at 7:43 pm

Yes to both the braces and the ticket. No to the others though I would like to travel solo at least once…just to have the experience.

PS…what’s the nail & brand of your nail polish? It’s so pretty!

    • Fitnessista on June 18, 2014 at 7:45 pm

thank you! it’s butter london trout pout

  9. Shari on June 18, 2014 at 7:44 pm

Insect: No, at least not on purpose 🙂

Travelled alone: Only for work, mainly Chicago, San Antonio, Cape Canaveral, and Maui once.

Braces: Twice! Once regular and once Invisalign.

Ticket: No but almost, a couple of years ago I was going slightly over the speed limit coming into my subdivision but the cop was nice and let me go with a warning.

Fitness Competition: Nope, never really thought about it before…

  10. Yaara Leve on June 18, 2014 at 7:48 pm

I had braces throughout middles school–haaated them with a passion! I also had a big overbite and a big gap between my front two teeth. However–didn’t wear my retainer–so the gap reopened. But I actually like it better that way. I’ve always liked my tooth gap.

I’ve traveled alone a bunch of times–back and forth to NYC for college and visiting relatives

Never eaten an insect–but was stung by a bee on my lower lip when I was 6. I was eating an apple in summer camp and felt the most painful sting on my lower lip I ever experienced. I remember throwing the apple to the ground and wincing in pain. My lower lip blew up about 3 inches!

Fitness Comps–yes! I’ve always wanted to do one and actually even hired a trainer/coach to coach me a few years ago. But in the end–I really don’t like heavy lifting. AT ALL. And the whole thing just felt weird–to strut on stage half naked and have a bunch of judges scrutinize every inch of your body. I think that would just play with my head in a really damaging way.
Also–just curious–when you did SSU workout 1 a few days ago–did you add in the extra HIIT cardio or just do the workout 1 as a standalone? Just curious how you combine cardio with your strength workouts?
    Thanks!

  11. Traci on June 18, 2014 at 7:54 pm

No to insect eating and braces, yes to traveling alone and tickets. No overly interesting stories, other than I filmed my sister eating chocolate covered bugs (an assortment, I think) last Thanksgiving. Yuck! Her faces were priceless.

  12. Kimberly on June 18, 2014 at 8:08 pm

Just found your blog and added it to my daily reading list. I love the salad in a jar idea. I’ll be interested to see how many days the salad stays crispy.

No insect eating, travel alone all the time for work domestically and internationally if that counts, had braces for 4 years, never gotten a ticket, and no fitness competition!

  13. Jessie on June 18, 2014 at 9:31 pm

Some bugs in China, tasty and chrunch :), no braces or fitness competitions. Travelled solo in Thailand and India, because none of my friends wanted to go there- solo travel is so fantastic! If you make the effort, you’re never alone for too long!

Yay for salads in a jar, I prepped salads this week as well, makes the mornings so much easier!

  14. Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie on June 18, 2014 at 9:35 pm

I’ve travelled alone to Vegas and Disney. I wasn’t exactly alone, I was with a college competition team. But they were all construction guys that wanted to drink and go to strip clubs the entire time, so I went and did my own thing. ;p

  15. JG on June 18, 2014 at 9:45 pm

I accidentally inhaled a fly once when I lived in Egypt. It was sooooooo embarrassing, I was at the bathroom at the Hatshepsut temple waiting for my friend, and there was a group of German tourists like RIGHT THERE, and I couldn’t stop coughing, like coughing up a hairball or something. Ick!

I travel alone a lot, aside from Egypt there was other parts of Africa, most of Europe, some of Southeast Asia, lots of states, in fact right now I am en route to Alaska. Traveling alone is the best!

I had braces, but not for too long.

I got the worst ticket ever once, I made a left turn I didn’t know was illegal on my way to the hospital because I’d broken my leg (ok it wasn’t that broken), it was $300! Boo to that.

I have never been in a fitness competition, unless we’re counting running races? That I’ve done.

  16. Andrea on June 18, 2014 at 10:07 pm

Never eaten and insect and never ever ever would. Braces – no, and I have really straight teeth! People never believe me when I say I haven’t had braces. Travelled solo – nope, and definitely don’t want to…I’m a huge homebody and super introverted. I’d probably cry the whole time. Fitness comp, nope! I think they’re neat though – it’s a hobby like anything else!

  17. Sarah on June 18, 2014 at 10:45 pm

I’ve eaten some strange things (like deer brains), but no insects to date.

The only place that I have traveled alone is to my family’s lake house, and I’m not really sure that counts since I obviously knew the environment, just didn’t have company.

Braces: check. Palette expander: check. Spacers: check. Teeth pulled to make room for the rest: check times 6. Youch.

Only one ticket when I was 16. I rolled through a stop sign…Whoops! My husband, on the other hand… the man has too much horsepower at his disposal. Lol.

I’ve got nothing for fitness competitions. Just running races, but I can’t even run fast, so there is not much competing going on. 🙂

  18. Karen on June 18, 2014 at 11:20 pm

    – I’ve never eaten an insect (doesn’t really appeal to me!)
    – I have had braces twice, once top and bottom and the second time on the bottom front 6 teeth (my teeth are good now)
    – I have had 2 parking tickets
    – I travelled alone to New Zealand. I wanted to go on a holiday and didn’t have anyone that wanted to go so I did a Contiki tour in NZ for a week. Well I guess I wasn’t alone as there was all the people on the tour but I wasn’t travelling with someone I knew.
    – I’ve never competed in a fitness competition

  19. Polly @ Tasty Food Project on June 19, 2014 at 12:23 am

I think I had lime roasted crickets at a Mexican restaurant. It wasn’t bad but it’s not something I’ll eat everyday!

I’ve travelled alone once when I was returning home from a trip to NYC.

I had braces when I was 16. I don’t miss those days at all!

I’ve gotten two speeding tickets in the past but the last time I got one was over 5 years ago.

I’ve never done a fitness competition. It’s too intense for me to take part in.

  20. Alexandra on June 19, 2014 at 12:30 am

    – Never eaten an insect
    – Braces for 2 years (and these things called expanders for two years that slowly-and painfully-widen your jaw. Lovely, right 😉
    – I travel alone all the time. I moved to Barcelona for 2 years on my own not knowing anyone and traveled a lot while I lived there. Lots of hostels and backpacking solo. Once I moved back 2 years ago, all I want to do is travel. Like one of the comments above says, its incredibly empowering. Plus, its so easy to meet people. You’re rarely alone, but you can also do your own thing at your own pace when you feel like it. I’m 25 and hoping to do 30 countries by the time i’m 30 but I have a ways to go! (14 countries in 5 years? Challenge accepted 🙂 )

  21. Pua on June 19, 2014 at 1:53 am

No to all but the ticket! I started dating my husband when we were young – in college and not quite 21 – so I used to borrow my parent’s car to “go to school” (but really to take my bf on drives away from campus). Well, let’s just say I got caught playing hooky one day when I actually parked in the bus parking lot and the cops came and ticketed all the illegally parked cars! LOL

  22. Kaitlyn on June 19, 2014 at 3:00 am

That salad looks yummy! I also love the Have you Evers. When I read the one about traveling alone, it reminded me of the time my tour group left me alone in Washington, D.C and I had to learn to explore the United States capital all by myself. Quite the experience!

  23. Rebecca on June 19, 2014 at 6:29 am

Eaten an insect – yes! I have tried a witchetty grub and once I swallowed a fly by accident!!

Travelled alone – yes, but only within Australia, I would love to go overseas and have that experience.

Had braces – yes, for 3 and a half years and now sixteen years later my teeth are getting crooked again 🙁

Gotten a ticket – yes, a parking ticket when I went shopping for too long!

Been in a fitness competition – no, I have friends who have and really enjoyed the preparation and experience.

  24. Maria on June 19, 2014 at 8:27 am

    no bugs, no braces

    does competitive swimming count? 😉

and yes I end up traveling alone too many times to count

  25. Sara on June 19, 2014 at 8:40 am

No insects that I’m aware of 😉

I’ve traveled alone to Scotland and Florida but it was to meet my best friend so once I was there I wasn’t alone

    I’ve never had braces

I’ve gotten too many tickets to remember…speeding and parking! Woops!

I’ve never been in a fitness competition but admire the people that do it naturally with real food

  26. Paula on June 19, 2014 at 9:15 am

Bugs: Also chapulines! I was in Oaxaca City and had to sample the local fare. They were pretty innocuous – and actually added a nice crunch to roasted potatoes.

Travel alone: Only the commute part. I’ve done plenty of solo train/plain/long driving trips, but there are always people at the other end for me.

Braces: From 7th grade to freshman year of high school, i.e the awkward years. Now I have a semi-permanent retainer on my bottom front teeth that drives me nuts.

Tickets: Um, yeah. I lived in DC for 12 years. Sometimes parking was such a pain that, after driving around for 45 minutes, you’d just accept the inevitable ticket.

Fitness competition: Noooo. I like to compete in road races occasionally…maybe eventually a small-scale CrossFit competition, but that’s it for me, thanks!

  27. Katie on June 19, 2014 at 9:21 am

I’ve never intentionally eaten an insect
Travel alone several times a year, back east for work
I had braces but my teeth weren’t that bad to start with!
I’m surprised I didn’t get more tickets since my favorite game to play after HS was car chase where you text the other car a clue to come find you and when they do you chase each other all over…safe.
    No fitness comps.

I leave TOMORROW afternoon for three days in san diego! I have never been to CA before so I’m ridiculously excited, my sister might be moving there soon so we’re doing a girls trip to scout it out. Any recs for good juice/health food places on or near Coronado? We’re staying there and I’m dying to buy a fresh juice from somewhere since my tiny mountain town has nothing like that.

  28. Heather @ eSmoothie Recipes on June 19, 2014 at 9:42 am

    No, No, No, Multiple, No

    I’m a terrible driver. 😉

  29. Kim on June 19, 2014 at 9:55 am

I once wanted to do a fitness competition so I went to one as a spectator in NYC, it was really cool to watch the professionals do their thing. I got to see all the “celebs” that I’d been following in Oxygen magazine for years like Jelena Abbou & it was inspiring. I gotta say though, it was heavy on the “beauty pageant” aspect too, like these girls had teams of professionals for hair/makeup and I got a “diva” vibe from many of them, so much more goes into winning than exercise & diet but that’s showbiz right? There are competitions for natural competitors (I had no idea that some girls were using steroids & stuff for those contests) which is the only way I would consider doing it.

    • Fitnessista on June 19, 2014 at 5:57 pm

right there with you. bummer about the diva vibe :/

  30. Alex @ Kenzie Life on June 19, 2014 at 10:02 am

I’ve never eaten an insect but I did eat kangaroo when I lived in Australia in high school (that was just before my vegetarian days). I’ve also had braces (I got them on Halloween in 6th grade–talk about the worst day of the year to get them!) and I have traveled alone to New York, London, and France 🙂

  31. Kara H. on June 19, 2014 at 10:02 am

This is too cute! Love it:

Have you ever eaten an insect… I’ve accidentally swallowed a few that have flew in my mouth. Yes I have a very large mouth.

Traveled alone… Yes, only for work though. Its kind of nice but at the same time kind of lonely if you aren’t meeting others.

Had braces… No, but EVERY new dentist I see jumps out of their chair with excitement because as they put it “Your teeth are so messed up. Look at all those in turned teeth.” I’m not sure why dentists love messed up teeth but I’m a star patient for it. I actually love my messed up teeth. Gives me character. Plus braces are so expensive. 😉

Gotten a ticket… A few times, in fact I received a seat belt ticket on my 16th birthday on a road trip with my family because I had unbuckled my seat belt to get my Harry Potter book that was in the back seat. Apparently the officer did not care about my reading endeavors.

Been in a fitness competition… No and I honestly think my husband would kill me if I did because the first thing that goes when I lose a lot of weight are the “girls” and he does NOT want the “girls” to get smaller. Sorry if thats TMI, but truth!

    • Fitnessista on June 19, 2014 at 5:56 pm

haha it’s so funny the things like that we need to think about. when i lose weight, my butt starts to turn into a pancake. apparently not ok 😉
totally agree about the braces. super pricey, and some of the best and most genuine smiles are the ones that haven’t been altered
      xoxo

  32. Lucie@FitSwissChick on June 19, 2014 at 10:04 am

    I travelled alone a lot!
I worked as a Flight Attendant, and then I went to the Phlippines for 3 months to travel/work, I travelled to Berlin for 7 months to work and spent 2-3 vacations in Spain on my own. I love it!

Just last Saturday I competed in the Swiss Team Challenge – a national Crossfit Team Event. It was one of the best experiences ever.

  33. Jessica on June 19, 2014 at 10:05 am

I actually travel alone quite a bit – London, Bali, Laos – even just solo flights to visit family happen often. I had braces for 3 years and happy with the results but have to get a root canal this summer 🙁

    • Fitnessista on June 19, 2014 at 10:15 am

oh man! i’ve heard that root canals aren’t quite as terrible as their reputation suggests
      xoxo

  34. Rachel @ Blonde with a Chanse on June 19, 2014 at 10:13 am

I wish I had the guts to do a fitness competition!

  35. Britt@MyOwnBalance on June 19, 2014 at 10:23 am

    Insect: No!

Traveled alone: Yes! When I was studying abroad in Sydney I flew to Surfer’s Paradise in Queensland for a weekend by myself because I wanted to see it and no one else I knew did. I met a lovely girl from England at the hostel I stayed at.

Braces: Yep! Two awful years. And now my bottom teeth are kind of out of whack again because my wisdom teeth started to grow in.

Ticket: I used to get parking tickets at my college all the time because the parking rules were so strict but the money just went back to the college so I’m not sure it really “counts.”

    Fitness Comp: Nope!

  36. katelyn on June 19, 2014 at 10:31 am

I haven’t eaten insects, but tried to convince Babak to in Thailand. I have traveled alone, but am leaving for Brazil by myself to see the world cup on Saturday- a little freaked out, but totally psyched too! I would never do a fitness competition because I’m too lazy 🙂 And, I get hella parking tickets all the time in NYC, it’s the worst!

  37. Emily @onesouthernbelleonebigcity on June 19, 2014 at 10:58 am

I am probably the least adventurous person when it comes to food. No insect delicacies for me.

Braces – 4 times! Full sets the first and third time, all bottom teeth the second time, and full Invisalign the last time. Yes, I wore my retainers and even have permanent ones. I hope I’m done now (I started 20 years ago!!)

I haven’t travelled truly by myself. Probably the closest I ever got was traveling to Africa when I was 13 for a student exchange. I went with some other kids from my school district but none that I actually knew.

I only had one ticket in my life – a speeding ticket. I was lost and totally blame it on that. Besides, the area I was in, I found out later, was a speed trap. Now, I don’t own a car, so I don’t have to worry about it. 🙂

No fitness competitions for me. I just don’t have that kind of dedication. A good friend just competed in one and she is a vegan. Apparently, people say you can’t get lean enough without eating meat, but she did great!

    • Fitnessista on June 19, 2014 at 5:48 pm

that’s so cool she did it on a vegan diet!
how did you like invisalign? i wore my retainers, too, but my teeth still shifted
and insect delicacies made me chuckle 😉

      • I really liked the Invisalign. I was in the community a lot with my job so I was glad to have something a little discrete. I didn’t think the adjustments were as bad as they were with traditional braces. The ‘trays’ are also much thinner than traditional retainers which make them easy to talk in, etc. They say not to eat (obviously) or drink with them in, but I drink a lot throughout the day so I used a straw with no problems. I would highly recommend using Invisalign! Hope that helps!

  38. Becca on June 19, 2014 at 11:00 am

I loved your salad in a jar idea. It seems like the solution to most of my salad problems– no time/desire to chop all the ingredients every night, and the ingredients sitting on the bottom of the bowl (like when I’ve washed all the lettuce) tend to go bad first.

    And your questions:
Have you ever…eaten an insect? Yes, also chapulines, actually. I like them!

… traveled alone? Yes, to Guadalajara, Santigo de Chile, and Puerto Vallarta.

… had braces? Yes. Hated them.

    … gotten a ticket? No.

… been in a fitness competition? No. A friend of mine does them and she is constantly eating chicken with no seasoning at all. Can’t say that appeals to me!

    • Fitnessista on June 19, 2014 at 5:47 pm

haha it looks so terrible! if i were to do one, i’d want to see if it was possible to actually eat delicious food and still place

  39. Tracy on June 19, 2014 at 12:45 pm

Yikes! Have never eaten an insect!

I travelled alone to meet a friend for a cruise. Does that count? It was just the first leg of the trip. I’m a scaredy cat when it comes to solo travel!

I had braces TWICE. Once as a kid and once while preg with my second. It was not my most attractive year! LOL

Never ever to the fitness comp :-/

  40. Erin on June 19, 2014 at 1:30 pm

I’ve traveled alone once–to Tucson, actually! I stayed at the Marriott right by campus and made a couple friends at the Frog when I took myself out for a cocktail one night. 🙂

Braces for four years. My teeth look pretty great but have TMJ that still bothers me.

I would love to do a fitness competition…but live in small-town Iowa, where those things/trainers/opportunities aren’t exactly the norm. A friend of mine in Florida just did her first one and she loved it!

    • Fitnessista on June 19, 2014 at 5:35 pm

that’s awesome you traveled to tucson by yourself! the frog is a great place to meet people 🙂
let me know if you decide to do it! i’d love to hear about your experience

  41. Laura B @ FitMamaLove on June 19, 2014 at 3:14 pm

    Eaten an insect? Nope

Traveled alone? I’ve flown alone, but always ended up with someone in the end. Having a weekend alone somewhere sounds wonderful, though.

Had braces? Yep, when I was 14 and only for 1.5 years, which wasn’t bad.

Gotten a ticket? Not me personally, but my hubby has gotten a couple parking tickets since we’ve been married, so I feel like those are mine too.

Been in a fitness competition? No and I doubt it’s something I’ll ever do. Looking at pics of those crazy buff women, I’m not sure I could ever (or would want to) put in the time and discipline to look that way. I’d be curious to see how your eats and exercise change if you do decide to go for it!

    • Fitnessista on June 19, 2014 at 5:32 pm

i think it would just be cleaner eats (no more random hodads burgers and dessert stops) and heavy lifting days. i’m not sure if i’ll do it -i finally feel like i’m in the hang of feeding the family and am not sure i want to rock the boat- but i think it would be fun 🙂

      • shaina on June 19, 2014 at 5:37 pm

ugh, but hodad’s is so gooooooood haha

  42. shaina on June 19, 2014 at 4:36 pm

    1. Heck no
    2. Travelled totally alone? I don’t think so actually. I’ve always at least met people at the destination.
    3. I had braces for 2 years in high school.
    4. A couple, womp woooomp. Not in a long time though, knock on wood.
    5. I haven’t but I have totally thought about it! Its an expensive endeavor with the training, posing clinics, costumes, eating differently than the rest of the family, etc so I hesitated in the past and now I’ve been pregnant or nursing for the last 3 years and about to start nursing again for at least a year so def on hold for now. If I did jump in though, I would do the bikini class, not figure or fitness. I’d like to go for the cover of Shape Magazine as opposed to Muscle & Fitness. 😉

I had braces but my teeth are still crooked! I was very bad about wearing a retainer! I’ve never traveled alone, but would love too! I’ve thought about the fitness competition world too, but just haven’t taken the plunge! I would love to hear more about your friend that did it all naturally! I have never (knowingly/willingly) eaten an insect, and I have definitely had my share of tickets!

HAHA i love snoopy posts 😉 so i can totally relate babe 😀 they are like always my favourite 😀
    – i have never eaten an insect intentionally but i do really want to try those paleo bars made with cricket flour!
    – i always travel alone (pretty much always)
    – i have never had braces, but i definitely have an over bite
    – i have never gotten a ticket
    – and i have wanted to compete, but not i have so many reasons as to why i would never ever do one now. i just don’t need someone picking apart my body. i’m hard enough on myself and i work so gosh darn hard every day to be my best and i don’t need a complete stranger telling me i am not good enough ya know? …. i’ve thought a lot about this lately too because several people at the gym i workout at have told me to compete lately
