An awesome Secret

Latest post on the family page here! I’ll be picking a winner for this post tonight, too.

Thank you Victoria’s Secret for sponsoring this post. While this was a sponsored opportunity from Victoria’s Secret all content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Vs post 9

Is anyone else excited about revamping their workout wardrobe in the new year?!

I’ve been kind of in a funk with the workout wardrobe lately. Even though I lost the “baby weight,” things fit verrryyyyy differently. Many of my beloved workout clothes pinch in weird places, and I was guilty of stretching out some of my favorite tanks with my gigantic pregnant belly. I was excited when I ventured into Victoria’s Secret on a mission for supportive sports bras and comfy leggings.

Vs post 15

While I’ve been a fan of their bras forever, their leggings fell off my radar, even though they were the only kind of pants I used to wear back in my dance days. A random bit of trivia: I worked at Victoria’s Secret for quite a few years in high school and college, and I loved it so much. (I was also guilty of spending most of my paycheck using our discount haha.) Their bras are so supportive and comfortable, and they really work to be “best at bras.” This transcends to their sport category, as they use the same technology to ensure that they’re well-constructed with breathable fabrics and an accurate fit. Their athletic pants are incredible quality; not see-through in the least and I’ve noticed that they don’t fade the same way many of my others pants have.

Here are some of the things I picked up on my latest trip:

The Angel sports bra, which fits like a dream and has an awesome crisscross detail in addition to the fun print:

their Incredible sports bra, which I love for sweaty workouts; it keeps everything in place!

and two pairs of their knockout leggings (a crop and a full-length).

I also picked up this cheeky tank because I needed it. 😉

Love your photos and the pieces you chose.

I bought one of their sports bras a few years ago. It fit great and was super cut but the wire popped out of one side within a couple months so I wasn’t impressed with that and didn’t really go back for another sports bra for a couple years. I just picked up a REALLY cute one recently (it zips up the front! Love that detail) and am loving it so much.

if that ever happens, take it back! they have a great return/exchange policy.
      xoox

Love their sports bras so much! Just got a really cute pair of leggings that I intend on trying out tonight 🙂 I could really use a new regular bra… but I hate going and trying 800 on.

The ladies at my store are So helpful and do almost all the work for me!

    • Fitnessista on January 5, 2016 at 10:12 pm

if you go into the store to get measured, they’ll narrow it down for you! you shouldn’t have to try on very many to get a great fit

  3. Ashley @ A Lady Goes West on January 5, 2016 at 1:13 pm

No, but these pieces make me want to! Love the pics too, Gina! Looking good! 🙂

  4. Debbie on January 5, 2016 at 1:27 pm

Their sports bras are my favorite! So comfortable and supportive.

  5. Erika S. on January 5, 2016 at 1:35 pm

I haven’t tried much from their sports line but I love that tank…! Sometimes all you need is a lil pop of color, cheeky saying, or new pants to get you in the mood to work out!

    • Fitnessista on January 5, 2016 at 10:12 pm

      so true!

  6. Cassie on January 5, 2016 at 2:28 pm

VS nabbed both you ans Anne for this one, huh? Despite what my ex crazy doctor says, my bra is the most important thing I put on every day. That might be due to my 34DD size. VS is the only place to buy bras… especially sports bras. Girl needs to strap those things down. But they also have ones that strap down and separate for an easy gym to out wear. Too bad the rest of their workout gear is not in my budget.

  7. Lisa on January 5, 2016 at 2:58 pm

I’m excited to see what the surprise is on 1/7! I’ve got a few of their sports bras that I’m happy with, and a few pair of the leggings. I have the ones you’re wearing in your pic and I wore them yesterday!

  8. Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me on January 5, 2016 at 3:11 pm

YOU LOOK INCREDIBLE IN THESE PICTURES. No one would believe you just gave birth a few weeks back, Gina! Victoria Secret clothing is practically my school uniform, so I am all about this post!

  9. Hilary on January 5, 2016 at 3:23 pm

I have thought about venturing in there to look at the workout clothes but so far I have only purchased headbands from them. I love those crops though and I can only imagine how great their sports bras are, I do have my fair share of bras from there!

  10. Jenn @ Tri Stuff I LIke on January 5, 2016 at 3:52 pm

That’s funny…my fiance and I were just at Victoria’s Secret so I could get some underwear and he was checking out the sports bras. He thought they were all “me,” but that I already had too many sports bras. I guess maybe I’ll have to go in again when he’s not with me! =P

    • Fitnessista on January 5, 2016 at 10:10 pm

haha this is why i don’t like shopping with tom 😉

Ah that’s so exciting that you got this opportunity! I remember you always raving about it.
I love VS sport though I don’t buy it, it didn’t fit me well :/

  12. Kailey on January 5, 2016 at 4:34 pm

  13. Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious on January 5, 2016 at 5:10 pm

I haven’t tried their workout apparel. I always wonder if it’s cool and breathable. Ive seen a few in the store and they didn’t seem like they would be. I’ve always wanted to try their sports bras. They look great one you!

    • Fitnessista on January 5, 2016 at 10:08 pm

thank you, friend! yes, they feel awesome

It is my understanding ‘L Brands’, VS parent company conducts animal testing so they can sell in China effective 2015.

I love you and your site, but I can’t continue to support you if you do business with a company vested in animal cruelity.

    • Fitnessista on January 5, 2016 at 10:06 pm

thank you so much for reading and for the comment. that’s really interesting; i had no idea. as you know, i’m very selective about which brands i support and choose to partner with. a few weeks ago i turned down a huge year-long partnership because i did some research and wasn’t happy with some of the company’s business practices. i genuinely love the vs sport line, and i’ll do some more research on their beauty lines (because i’m thinking that’s where the animal testing comes in if that’s the case?)

And you just had a baby a couple of months ago?! You look amazing, Gina! I know it hasn’t been easy for your family, but you’re doing AWESOME!

    I loooooove VSX bras!!

  20. Erika on January 6, 2016 at 7:06 am

I bought 2 of their Knock Out sports bras and one of their Incredible sports bras a few weeks ago, just waiting for them to arrive. I like the fact that they zip up so I don’t have to struggle to take them off when I’m all sweaty. Hopefully they’ll workout well for me.

  21. Crystal Kelso on January 6, 2016 at 7:21 am

Thank you for the advice on specific products. It’s very easy to get overwhelmed with the large variety of products. I also appreciated the pictures! I am also a mother working on the baby weight and have noticed everything fits differently. Thanks again for the help.

  22. Courtney on January 6, 2016 at 9:06 am

Thank you so much for sharing! I have been noticing my new-ish workout pants are fading and get nervous they are becoming see through. I will have to check out VS. Do you dry your workout pants after washing?
PS: You look amazing and so cute in your outfits!

    • queenoffitness on January 6, 2016 at 9:22 am

      Hi Courtney
I wash all of my workout clothes together (darks with darks, light colors with light colors) in cold water without softener. Softeners can damage the wicking tech in many sports clothes, then I hang everything to dry. Dryers can be especially damaging to sports wear.

    • Fitnessista on January 6, 2016 at 10:12 am

      thank you, friend!
i air dry almost all of my workout pants and sports bras.

  23. queenoffitness on January 6, 2016 at 9:20 am

VS has been slayin’ the sports bra market lately. My beloved Champion power back was discontinued and I hadn’t bought a new sports bra in over three years. My friend highly recommended VS’s new workout bras. Gotta say, I am VERY impressed with the incredible support. The wide straps, the underwires with cushioned support and large band with triple hook were just what this bigger busted gal needed. My only small complaint is that the style with the snap and zipper combo is a smidgen too low cut so my chest seems a bit buxom for the gym. I just have to be careful what top I pair with it.
Just wanted to ask, have you heard of Vimmia workout wear? If not you should check it out. It is workout wear made right here in the USA (Los Angeles)! It can be pricey stuff but remember the money spent pays for safe working conditions, healthcare and US wages for US workers. Is is quality stuff and I am proud to be supporting a US based manufacturer.

    • Fitnessista on January 6, 2016 at 10:12 am

i will definitely check it out!

  24. Julie on January 6, 2016 at 10:41 am

I can tell a change in your smile in the bra pic above. Your Invisalign is working! 😉 You looked beautiful before Invisalign, too; I just wanted to comment that I noticed a change. 🙂

    • Fitnessista on January 6, 2016 at 11:02 am

      wow, thank you!! 🙂

  25. Mary on January 6, 2016 at 11:18 am

I’ve never tried their workout gear. I haven’t given their leggings a thought since college, like you. Maybe I feel like I’m too old to wear their clothes, other than bras? The pieces you chose don’t look too college student-ish though….

  26. jenny @ apples & kale on January 6, 2016 at 12:00 pm

I love, love, love the angel bra from their sports line. I am really excited to see what the sale is tomorrow!

[…] I was reading Gina’s post earlier this week on my phone and immediately stopped at this workout top. Is that not so clever? […]
