Around the weekend

Hi guys! How was your weekend? Hope you had a great one!

Usually after a roadtrip, we would come back and straight-up chill the days following. For some reason, we felt super productive this weekend and got quite a bit done around the house. We emptied out and organized the pantries, grocery shopped and meal prepped, and enjoyed playing with Liv and watching the U of A game. Sunday it rained all day, and was perfect for some chicken tortilla soup:

It was a great weekend! <3

Some more pics from our Disney adventures:

Us at disney2Boutique

(Bibbity Bobbity Boutique = something I totally wish they had when I was a kid! I watched intently while they styled her hair so I can copy that bun for her here at home when she asks for “a princess bun.”)

Lights at small world

While we were at Disney, the dogs were enjoying their own vacay. We have an amaaaaazing house/dog sitter, who took them on twice-daily walks, with her to enjoy dinner on the patio at a BBQ restaurant, and lots of playing at the park. She also gave them each a bath. Whaaaaat?!

Bell and caro

(Censoring Bella’s business haha.)

Sunday morning, we stopped by Ritual Juicebox, a new juice spot in Hillcrest before grabbing groceries at Trader Joe’s.

Ritual

I loved the bright atmosphere with simple white accents and succulent-adorned tables. The menu was pretty thorough, with a variety of juice, smoothie, acai bowls options, and fresh, raw foods (like salads and wraps).

They also had a cute little shop shelf with trail mix, nuts, natural cleaning supplies, books, dry brushes, and lotion.

I’ve noticed that more juice shops are getting into pre-bottling juice, which is more convenient for them, but isn’t my personal fave. The nutrients are still intact if they cold press the juice, but I like juice more room temperature (I know, I’m weird), and I almost always like to ask for mint in my green juice, which I definitely won’t do if it’s pre-bottled. Still, it was very refreshing and delicious! We’ll definitely be back.

Juice in a bottle

It feels great to be drinking green juice and green smoothies on a regular basis again, and Liv is a huge fan too. 😉

It’s time for BODYPUMP over here! Hope you’re having a great morning. <3

xoxo

Awww what a fun weekend for Liv! That Bippity Boppity Boutique is adorable!

Ok, those boots – Adorable!! It looks like you guys had such a fun time. I also visited a new-to-me juicery this weekend, (reviewed on my blog today) and one of their big differentiators is that they never high-pressure pasteurize their juices. It means shorter shelf life, but it also means that all the nutrients and healthy bacteria stay alive. They package in glass (I will never buy plastic again!) and new juices are made nightly, so I was pretty impressed. I totally agree with you when you say that it feels so good to drink green juice again!

O gosh! Her little crown! That is so precious!

I would still geek over a princess boutique! Haha! I love to add herbs or ginger to my fresh juice, it’s surprisingly delicious and refreshing.

What a fun weekend! I love Bella’s little censor! Haha

Why do you not get mint in juice if it’s prepackaged? I hadn’t heard of this before but am really curious. Thanks!

I agree that it’s nicer when juice shops make you fresh juice! Love the photos, looks like a fun low key weekend 🙂

I think that’s one of the fun things about having a little kid around – you get to take note of all the awesome toys, places, and things that weren’t available when you were young! I was obsessed with Barbie as a kid and now I look at all her amazing accessories… and the pink Lego sets for girls. Ahh, to be a kid again. 🙂

What a fun weekend! Liv looks so happy. I am not a fan of the prebottled juices at juice shops either. I prefer mine fresh and closer to room tempterature as well. Happy Monday!

I seriously can not wait for my 4 weeks trip to San Diego in April/May. It seems there are so many great places to go to!
I love my smoothies/juices at room temperature too. Iced or frozen things make me cringe!

You’re right – that’s an amazing song!! Lazy Hale is the front woman of Halestorm from my hometown of Philly and it’s so cool seeing them grow! Shatter Meis on one of my running playlists 🙂

That Rice Krispie Treat is EXACTLY what I get whenever I go to the Magic Kingdom! My best friend just got back from a trip with her family & brought me one home… just as good as ever!

A “princess bun” … oh my, too CUTE! I would’ve been all over that as a little girl. So glad you guys had a fun and productive weekend! Have fun at BodyPump!

I had a glorious green juice yesterday too! I think I might be weird too and like it a bit warmer also! I also would love to try some mint in a green juice!

      the best!

I’m with you on pre-bottled juice. It just isn’t my fave. I like the freshly made stuff and I feel like you can taste the flavors better when it is room temp.

  17. Melissa on January 12, 2015 at 9:21 am

LOL at the censor—I’m sorry but that really made me laugh this morning. 🙂

    • Fitnessista on January 12, 2015 at 2:44 pm

hahaha glad you got a chuckle out of it. i was cracking up when i made it

  18. Anita on January 12, 2015 at 9:49 am

Her little princess bun makes me smile! When I was her age, nothing was better than Disneyland! Such a fun experience for her birthday. 🙂

    Always, Anita

It’s so hard to find a great dog sitter, sounds like yours is a keeper! Our house/dog sitter got married recently (yay) and moved away (boo).

Reading this makes me want to bust out the juicer now haha

Lindsey Stirling started off as a youtuber, did you know that? She’s amazing and the music video is beautiful.

I’ve seen the hairstyling at Disney. I’ve always wanting to go myself. Too bad they don’t have one for adults!

Disney look so fun! I can’t wait to take my kids back now that it’s been about two years. My hubby is not really a fan of Disney, but he just mentioned the other day that we could go to L.A. to visit his grandpa and stop by Disney too! Hurray! Once he sees the kids’ faces light up there, he’ll be hooked, I know it!

  24. Michele @ Michele-Elizabeth on January 13, 2015 at 2:56 pm

😉 looks like this was such a fun weekend! I haven’t been there since I was super little! I can’t wait to go back someday! I live in MN so it’s a more than just a little road trip for me hehehe
