Birthday Nomad

Hey guys! How’s your night going??

I’m HOME!

whole foods

Heh heh. Of course I made a little stop on the way Winking smile

Thank you so much for all of the beautiful comments, tweets, Facebook posts and sweet birthday wishes! I appreciate it so much <3

Thank you to my friends who celebrated my birthday with me last night! I loved seeing everyone <3

This morning, I was moving a little slowly after a night in Valdizzy with dinner, Funfetti cupcakes and chilled white wine, and girl chat until the wee hours of the morning, so Jeni and I went to Two Friends for breakfast before I hit the road back to Orlando.

I had a veggie omelet (no cheese)

omelet

Coffee + a sweet potato biscuit that I wasn’t going to eat but then did (I love gluten. And it’s my birthday. haha)

The drive back to Orlando was pretty uneventful- I listened to the rest of “A New Earth” (highly recommend it!) and pulled into a rest stop for a chat with homeopathic doc. Good news! I can eat fruit again Smile I really look forward to our phone appointments- he answers all of my questions and is so patient in explaining everything. He also said I can eat Stevia everyday, twice a day on Sunday if I want to. Good stuff Smile

When I got to my aunt’s, I was greeted by my favorite downward-facing Bella:

orlando 005

+ a little Yorkie tail Smile

+ gifts from a certain someone who still made his presence known today

gifts

I’m waiting to get back from work to open the gifts and read the cards Winking smile

Yes, I’m at work tonight but it aint no thang. I got in my celebrating last night Smile Also… I’m going to NEW YORK ON SUNDAY!!! More on that to come.

Legendary dinner:

bowl

A macrobiotic bowl (arugula, sea vegetables –dulse, arame, wakame-, sauerkraut, tamari-soaked almonds, cashew sauce)- I’ll be sure to post a how-to next time I make it, which will be soon!

with my favorite vegan miso slaw from the hot bar:

slaw

I’m back to work, but I’ll see ya in the morning!

What are you up to this weekend?? Have some dessert for me, mmm k? Smile

xoxo,

Gina

Sorry for messing up the birthday promo links this morning! Here’s the *one for the almond butter* and the *one for the coconut butter*- a jar + 3 sample packs for $11. Baller Smile

If you had to choose only one to go to would it be 306 North or Two Friends? I prefer 306 North. I had an awful experience at Two Friend about 2 months ago. The food was awful, the waitress was rude, and our table was never cleaned even after I said something.

    • Fitnessista on November 13, 2010 at 9:00 am

      really??
i prefer 306 too, but love them both. the multigrain bread at 306 is what makes that one a winner haha 🙂
the tilapia at two friends is AMAZING and randy always makes me a special salad with thing i want on it (goat cheese and veg!)

“dinner, Funfetti cupcakes and chilled white wine, and girl chat until the wee hours of the morning”–

THAT sounds like the perfect way to spend a bday (of course, having the Pilot there would be the best present of all) but as a 2nd fiddle, what you did sounds great 🙂

Safe travels back to Orlando and Happy Bday!!!!!!!!!!

    🙂

  14. Maria on November 12, 2010 at 11:11 pm

Happy Birthday Gina!!! I hope you had a good b-day! November birthdays are the best! hehe! Mine was a few days ago. I was wondering if you could e-mail me (I can’t find your e-mail). I started the South beach diet on Monday and so far it’s going well, I just have a few questions about it and you’re the only person that I “know” did it. Thanks! 16. Jean on November 12, 2010 at 11:56 pm

I am considering purchasing the Turbofire dvds and was wondering if you could do a review of the program since it’s no longer new to you. I am taking a break from running and have done 30 day Shred but I’m looking for some new cardio for a change and to bust through a plateau. Your thoughts on Turbofire would be greatly appreciated.

    • Fitnessista on November 13, 2010 at 8:58 am

if you love kickboxing and dancing, and have no joint or knee injuries, i say go for it! it’s my fave beachbody program 🙂

Welcome home and I’m excited to find out why you’re going to New York! 🙂

My boyfriend and I went to dinner last night at a local Turkish restaurant and had kunefe for dessert. (shredded phyllo dough stuffed with goat cheese). Oh my gosh! It was foodgasmic!!!!! (and the best way to start the weekend).
