Blog survey results + Post Baby Bod is on the way

Hi friends 🙂 How is the morning going? I’m finishing up the touches on a recipe -it will be up this afternoon!- and going to get in a little cardio before I teach barre tonight.

So remember when you all helped me out with the blogiversary survey during giveaway week? I just wanted to say thank you again so much for all of your amazing feedback. Since I always love to see the results of similar surveys, I thought I’d share them here on the blog in case you were curious.

Blog survey

Thank you so much to those of you who have been reading for so long. <3 Many of you seemed to prefer more everyday life type stuff (which I had scaled back over the years, but am getting back into), in addition to the fitness/recipes/random mix of things I put up here. As far as what you’d like to see more of on the blog, fitness and recipes went back and forth in second place from everyday life stuff. They’re my main focus, so I’ll keep cranking away on putting together as many clean and delicious recipes as I can, in addition to sweaty, diverse workout options and calendars.

Next, I asked if there was anything in particular you’d like to see in the upcoming year. There were requests to revive some old features, and there were quite a few popular suggestions (like more fitness videos, WIAW, fashion/beauty posts, Livi-isms, posts about a healthy living mindset, balancing work/life/motherhood, strength training, Focus On posts, and holistic wellness). An overwhelmingly popular theme was pre- and postnatal fitness, which made me so excited to see because that’s exactly the project I’ve been working on. I’m putting together a resource for pregnancy workouts and tips, and also a plan for new mamas who want to get back in the fitness game safely and effectively. I’ve been cranking away finishing everything up, and our test group will be starting the plan in July. Everything will be available this fall.

I’m only going to release a limited amount of postnatal plans, because I want to be as active as possible on our closed Facebook page and allow time for potential Google hangouts or Skype seasons as needed.

If you’re interested in getting first dibs (or have an expecting friend who may be interested, please pass this along!) please sign up below:

I’ll send out all of the info when everything is ready to go! Pre- and postnatal fitness has become a huge passion of mine over the past few years, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and have created over the past year.

After our survey, I have pages of inspiration and content requests for 2015, and am so thankful to those of you who shared your feedback. This blog is OUR space, so it’s important for me to include the stuff you want to see. As a way to show my gratitude, I asked what you would prefer…

Even though I did start choreographing my interpretive dance, a sneaky giveaway it is. Enter here. 🙂

I’m due in Oct too so I’ve been following your pregnancy journey. It’s so fun to have you as a resource for pre- and postnatal fitness!

I love getting survey results! Nerd alert. Thanks for the sneaky giveaway! 😀

Can’t wait for the post natal plan! There seems to be so much conflicting/limited information on this topic, so happy you put something together – thank you!

The pre and post natal fitness couldn’t have come around at a better time since I am due in November. I agree, there is so much conflicting advice on what you should/shouldn’t be doing. I’ve found the line “Whatever you were doing before you got pregnant should be fine to continue while you are pregnant.” completely un-helpful so far. Looking forward to hearing your take eventually! <3

I love seeing survey results! Thanks for sharing.

Yay! Perfect timing! I am due with my first August 2nd. While I’ve remained active during the pregnancy it will be great to have this resource for after baby. Thanks!

Good stuff on the survey! I’m always amazed that people want to hear about your every day life more than anything. Can I ask you how you created the survey for your site? I am interested in doing one for my readers as well!

I’m really excited about the post-natal plan and it sounds like it will come at just the right time for me. I’m due in late July and am finding myself feeling really restless about wanting to be more active again. Not so much to “get my body back” (though that would be nice), but to be able to push my body and appreciate all that it can do without a giant belly in the way!

Hi Gina, i’m excited for the post natal plan too, the fact it’s arriving in the Fall is perfect timing as my due date is end of August, and will be looking forward to getting back in shape again, so thank you!

It’s nice to see that a lot of your blog readers are long time readers! I myself am of the OG readers, I still remember the Valdosta days. Funny, I’ve read some blogs here and there over the years, but yours is the only one I’ve consistently followed–I feel like I know you, haha

I recently had a baby on June 9th and would love to learn more about fitness post baby!

Awesome stuff! Postnatal work is definitely a challenge so it is great that you’ll be focusing on that! It took me awhile to get back in shape.

As a reader form the beginning I love how your content change, I love everyday stuff, since I have been reading for so long it makes it seem like I am your friend, and I know you in real life. I also love the fitness content that you post, since I can see how much better you got at it, so basically I enjoy every post 🙂

Definitely not expecting a bairn right now, but I’m stoked to see your new program come out so I shared it with a couple friends who’ve got littles (one is preggers with Bebe Numero Dos, the other has a 4month old).

Stoked to check out the sneaky giveaway…and feeling kiiiinda old now that I realized I’ve been reading since my sophomore year of college (4 years ago!) haha.

Cannot wait for your postnatal plan! My little one is 8 weeks old and I’m just now easing back into exercise – if you need any more testers for july let me know 🙂

After a miscarriage a couple months ago, I am hoping to be pregnant again soon! After that experience, I will be even more focused on staying fit and healthy in a safe way. So excited to hear you are putting together a plan and hope I can follow!

Love the sneaky giveaway! And seeing survey results are fun. I might have to see the interpretive dance when I see you though… I bet it was amazing. 😉

  18. Katie on June 23, 2015 at 7:18 pm

This is very exciting news. No babies over here yet, but we are hoping to be pregnant by early 2016 if not a bit sooner. I’m researching ways to keep fit before and after pregnancy and I’m so glad you’re working on something for us!

Just out of curiosity, because I am an undercover nerd, what was your “N” (total number) of veteran readers? I have been a reader since the valdizzy days as well. I didn’t take the survey but I love everyday life content, your recipes ( the lactation cookies were on point), and your focus on posts. No plans to have children…regardless I really do enjoy reading all of your baby related posts as well.

  20. Cassie T on June 24, 2015 at 1:23 am

    Thanks for sharing the results!

I’m not even close to starting a family right now, but I’m excited for you to put a healthy post-baby body plan out there! I feel like celebrities being bikini and underwear model ready so fast after having a baby puts unrealistic goals in people’s minds and the more positive, healthy messages out there, the better!

  21. Catherine on June 24, 2015 at 4:42 am

I voted for the interpretive dance but the giveaway was a nice substitute :). I am looking forward to the pre and post natal plan as we are going to try to start a family soon!
