Both sides of the spectrum (+ a giveaway!)- ENDED!

My oven has seen both sides of the spectrum today.

Tomatoes

When I was home for my lunch break, my brothers were here hanging out with the Pilot and Oliv, and Kyle asked me if I’d help him make something for a Bacon Party he was headed to tonight with Meg. (For anyone lacking theme ideas for a holiday party, you’re welcome. Haha) Kyle always helps me with random errands/tragedies/life, so I knew I could help a bro out. The thing is, I don’t really speak bacon.

Bacon cookies

I like the turkey variety ok, but it’s just not really my thing. He knew he wanted to make something sweet, so I knew just where to go. I typed “bacon cookie” into the search bar and whaddaya know? Bacon cookies.. with peanut butter.

Bacon cookies 2

Thank you to Jessica for sponsoring 90% of our holiday desserts thus far 😉

Bacon cookies 3

(We doubled the recipe- that was about 1/3 of the final amount)

We made the bacon cookies, with incoherent stammering and victory dance moves from the happy guys “taste-testing” the candied bacon along the way. Word on the street is those cookies will rock your world (Kyle tried to peer pressure me into tasting one, but I opted out. They smelled divine, though.)

After Meg and Kyle headed to the party, I made some dinner using farm box ingredients that I didn’t want to go bad.

Butternut squash rounds with tomato goat cheese and roasted garlic-balsamic chicken.

Not.too.shabby.

We still haven’t Christmasified anything, but our neighbors are already on it! I’ll never forget the Pilot peering through the garage and swearing when he found out we moved onto Christmas Lane. Bring on the 10 ft inflatable snowman.

I hope you’re all enjoying the weekend so far! It’s been a beautiful and relaxing one.

Me and bell 2

Long run in the morning and then there are some crepes with our names on them….

Have a great night!

The DVDs will be amazing additions to a quick and effective at-home workout routine, and here’s the kicker: you know those gluten-free chocolate chip cookies I’m obsessed with? I asked if they’d throw in a batch for the winner and the chef said yes 😉

Sam, who said:

I’d love to win because I need to start working out at home- I’m a med student and life is just too crazy to make it to fitness classes often enough! My major goal would be to wake up early and get my workout done before class, but this night owl does not like 6am!

Congrats, Sam!! Send me your info (fitnessista at gmail dot com) and I’ll forward it along to the Canyon Ranch fairy 🙂

Stay tuned for more amazing giveaways! xoxo

I’d Love to win these DVDs as I am currently trying to lose some weight and get into shape. I’m a college senior and I’m hoping to drop some lbs to feel better about myself and look good for graduation pictures.
As a student, I have a busy schedule and don’t always have time to make it over to the gym. SO these videos would be a great way for me to get in a workout in the comfort of my own dorm room!!

Plus the cookies would be a nice treat as well!!

Especially now since taking your Namaste November challenge I have gotten very into yoga and noticed myself being able to do things I wasn’t able to do at the beginning of the month 🙂 I think these DVDs would be a great way to keep myself practicing yoga and just keep in shape over all! And of course yummy cookies are always a plus 😉

I would love to have some good yoga DVD’s. I have been using a few magazine articles to get me through some routines but I don’t know if I’m doing it correctly. Plus, I love chocolate chip cookies!

I’m a medical student in a place where it snows (my first winter below 50 degrees..I’m originally from Cali). My time is precious and it seems that 20 minute workout intervals is the best for in between long study sessions. I have been struggling to find a good yoga workout since I moved here 4 months ago so a good yoga DVD that I can do from home (or creepily from my study room at school..haha) would be HUGE!!! Plus, I’m a sucker for good cookies.

  12. Susan on November 26, 2012 at 11:18 pm

I love a good workout DVD! With two little ones at home, it is convenient to have something I can do during nap time if that is all the time I have. And, I love cookies!

  13. Diane on November 26, 2012 at 11:20 pm

I would love to win because, like everyone else, I’m feeling the stress of work and the holidays. This would be a nice little treat 🙂

  14. Kristen on November 26, 2012 at 11:24 pm

I would love to win so that I can expand my yoga DVD collection, which currently consists of 1 DVD…hardly a collection 😉

  15. Beth on November 26, 2012 at 11:34 pm

Ooh…I’ve taken 1 Yoga class and I loved it but having a hard time fitting it into my schedule. And I decided to go gluten free starting this week, so I would love to try the cookies!

  16. Kelsey H. on November 26, 2012 at 11:45 pm

I’m beginning to train for a half marathon at the end of February and I know stretching and strengthening with yoga would be a wonderful complement to my running routine! The cookies would be a great training fuel and treat to share with friends who are beginning to enter finals mode:)

  17. Sara J on November 26, 2012 at 11:45 pm

First of all, I want the cookies because I have a major sweet tooth and they look heavenly. As for the DVDs, I have a six-month old and work full time so my workouts are mostly limited to the house. I’m always looking for new at-home workouts to try!

  18. Becca h on November 27, 2012 at 12:11 am

Oh I would SO love to win!!! I just had my first child (a sweet baby girl) and could definitly use a new work out video to help motivate me back to my pre-pregnancy self!!
