Cardiac Cats and Pinner Winners

I had a feeling I’d be way too zonked to go to the Wildcats game last night. Thursdays can go one way or the other with my teaching schedule- sometimes they’ll be relaxed and passive classes, and sometimes I’ll get surprised with multiple intense teaches, which ended up being yesterday. I taught buff booty, DJ Dance (LOOOOOVE) and glide, and while it was a blast, I was definitely ready for quality couch time when I got home. The Pilot took my bro and his gf to the game with him, and Liv and I cheered for the wildcats while playing and enjoying dinner together.

Let it be known that Liv can perfectly chant “U of A!!!!” now.

Cats 1 of 1

I’m so proud 😉

We had such a fun night with just the girls, and I was also glad I didn’t end up going because I probably would have had a panic attack in the stands. They’re nicknamed “Cardiac Cats” for a reason, and while Colorado should have won, we used one of our 9 lives and are 13-0 now! Yeeeee hawwwww.

This morning’s bfast:

Bfast 1 of 1 3

2 eggs, 1 egg white, lots of slow cooker shredded chicken, spinach and toast

Thank you so much to all of you who sent in your beautiful Pinterest inspiration boards this week! I loved looking at them and wish you all the best of luck accomplishing your 2013 goals. Keep up the amazing work!

Here are 5 boards I picked at random:

Janice

Gina g

Barb

Tonya

Shaina

If you see your board up there, send me an email (fitnessista at gmail dot com, subject “Pinner Winner”) and I’ll get a little surprise in the mail to you today.

This afternoon, Liv and I are going to pick up a gift for a bday party and then taking her one year photos. Insane.

Have a happy Friday!

xoxo

Oh, what a great idea with the Pinterest inspiration boards! I’m going to go make mine once my 2 year old is napping! Have fun with the one year photos – so fun!

  2. Abby on January 4, 2013 at 12:56 pm

Yikes! Overhead presses are my kryptonite! For some reason my left is much weaker than my right, I need to try to even it out and work on shoulder strength for sure. Loving the 12 days of fitness, so much fun! Although I will say adding 9 lunges on after lower body weight training yesterday was a little rough haha.

    • Barb on January 4, 2013 at 1:32 pm

Thank you so much! It is a long process, planning on it taking some time but we are researching agencies and also saving ALL our money! Did you know it costs over $28k to adopt?? Crazy right?

      God willing, it will happen!!

Holy smokes, no! I knew it was pricey, but I pictured $10kish pricey!

Sending good vibes your way. I’m adopted, and my mom had this needlepoint in our house: “Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone, but still miraculously my own. Never forget for a single moment that you did not grow under my heart but in it.” I love it, and the other quote you have up on your board. Good luck!

Ah, this reminds me I have to start to understand Pinterest. Everytime I open it I feel so irritated and don’t have the patience to find my way through and close it.
So cute that Liv can chant!! Sounds like the perfect girlsnight you two had.

I was a little late to the 12 days of fitness party, so I am only on Day 5. Unfortunately it’s the only strength training I’ve been doing the last few days, but a little is better than nothing. Happy Friday!

  8. Sara @ fitcupcaker on January 4, 2013 at 3:18 pm

All of these are good boards. I loved this idea 🙂

What kind of gluten free toast do you find tastes best?

P.S. I live next a Trader Joes and that story really is the best!! I know you shop there a lot. 🙂

    • cassi on January 4, 2013 at 3:37 pm

    • Fitnessista on January 4, 2013 at 5:07 pm

      love tj’s 🙂
i really love the food for life chia black rice. it’s amazing! my current fave are the tj’s brown rice tortillas, though 🙂

      • Cassi on January 4, 2013 at 9:40 pm

Oh ill have to try that one. I just bought the plain food for like rice one. Heavy little stinkers. Didnt try em yet though. Im used to the UDI which is light. I like the brown rice tortillas but i cant wrap things in them. It always cracks on me 🙁

    xo, jin

  14. Erin O. on January 4, 2013 at 5:11 pm

Hi! How did you make the shredded chicken? Do you have a recipe?

  15. Diana on January 4, 2013 at 6:29 pm

I love 12 Days of Fitness! I added it to my current Zumba/running/Jillian Michaels routine.

Random question: what shoes do you use for Zumba? I haven’t gone since last summer, when I had an awesome pair of Nike. I tried all my running shoes since I started going back and so far none of them feel good. It’s like I’m glued to the floor.

    • Fitnessista on January 4, 2013 at 11:31 pm

i use the zumba brand shoes and really like them, but my faves are the nike huarache dance lows, which were discontinued :/

  16. Janice on January 4, 2013 at 8:46 pm

Wow, such a thrill to have Gina randomly pick my board! Even cooler though was looking at everyone else’s boards! What an inspirational group this is. Thanks everyone who shared your boards, I’ve repinned and followed and had my own goals and visions expanded!

  17. Kim on January 4, 2013 at 9:11 pm

WOW – 1 year pictures already?!
I’m loving the 12 Days of Fitness (I link you every day!!). I probably won’t tweet you a picture – I’m way old and haven’t gotten into the tweeting/ twitter thing – lame-O, I know!!!!

  18. Shaina on January 5, 2013 at 1:14 am

OMG so excited! Those are some AMAZING boards up there – Barb, my heart goes out to you!

So cute that Liv can chant! Tripp learned how to give high 5’s and wave a few days ago and you would think he walked on the moon from my reaction haha.

    • Barb on January 5, 2013 at 8:44 am

      Thank you! 🙂

  19. Katie on January 5, 2013 at 11:23 am

Haha as a CU grad, that game caused quite the stir!! Everyone I know is now has now jumped on the basketball bandwagon because they actually win games, and our football team has left a little to be desired the past couple of years 🙂

  20. Alicia @NeverEverBeenSkinny on January 5, 2013 at 9:58 pm

I love the idea of pinterest boards!!

  21. Leah o on January 6, 2013 at 1:04 am

  22. AmyW on January 7, 2013 at 10:44 pm
