Banana split smoothie

Hi! Happy Wednesday to ya 🙂 How’s the day going so far?

This week has already been a lot of fun. I took Livi to her yoga class and we planted some herbs in the garden. I might eat my words later, but I feel like you really have to work to kill plants here. Succulents grow freely out of the cement, and our hibiscus plant, which hasn’t bloomed in about a year has tiny little flower buds. It’s pretty exciting! I filled some of Livi’s Easter eggs with herb seeds for us to plant together, so we planted some spinach, basil, San Marzano tomatoes and jalapeños. Fingers crossed that they grow!

One thing that I’ve noticed about living here is that it’s actually a little more challenging to get organic produce at the grocery store. I’m not sure why, but the Trader Joe’s nearby hardly has any organic produce. Maybe because there are so many farmers markets? I have no idea. Anyway, when they didn’t have organic berries, I knew that frozen would be a good substitute.

An awesome sundae-esque smoothie we’ve been enjoying:

Lean lovely leg burner

Monday: Not too shabby when you have Prosecco in the sink, (someone has to drink it, right?) and brownies in the oven! As far as the Prosecco goes, we had the genius idea to chill it in the freezer so we could enjoy it last night. Of course, we forgot about it and remembered our […]

Day of Sun

Perfect way to spend a Sunday morning <3 I woke up a little groggy and super sore from teaching yesterday, so the Pilot suggested Sabino Canyon, for the first time in my life, I felt kind of “meh” about it. I quickly changed my mind. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we ending up walking […]

Work, then play

I’m finally back home for good- lots of fun and running around today! Work, car shopping and a party at a friends’ house. In between classes, I came back home to grab a sweet potato with almond butter, and take a smoothie back with me. (my #smoothieaday was mango, spinach, Sun Warrior, hemp seeds, almond […]

Slow cooker shredded Mexican chicken

A glass of wine and jammies = pretty much the best way to cap off a Monday night. Or any night, really. When are you too old to wear the PINK collection? Actually, don’t answer that. Some other highlights from the day: –The Schweaty May workout   Mom came over in the afternoon to hang […]

Pizza and wine… maybe one of the best combos ever. Hand me a pizookie and it would be my dream meal. Last night, we poured some wine, set out the supplies and made “his and hers” pizzas. The Pilot rolled with garlic and herb crust, marinara, pepperoni and cheese while I made mine with gluten-free […]
