Chips and Dip

Hiiii 😀 How are you? Late night blogging tonight! It was the kind of night where I just needed to take a minute to let my brain defrost,

and cozy up on the couch with some chips and dip

(aka hummus and raw sweet potato chips) 😉

me

[+ a creeper smile and a begging maltipoo]

Today was bueno, full of productivity and craziness.. just the way I like it, but it definitely feels good to be chillin’ in my jammies.

I got put on the employee Buff Booty class during lunch, so I kicked all of our bootays. It will hurt to walk tomorrow 😉

A snippet of what we did:

-Squats, squat pulses and tempo squats (down slow up fast, and reverse)

-Lunges (stationary, pulses, walking lunges, lunge and lift)

-Lateral lunges

-plie squats (hold, and pulse with right heel up, left heel up, both heels up)

-Bar work (including *this move*, Core Fusion style thigh burners, calf raises, side leg raises and leg circles)

-Mat work (bridges, pulsing bridges, Pilates style side laying leg series)

Um yeah.

I came home to pack up snacks and a quick lunch before heading back:

salad

Beast with

-spinach

-red bell pepper

-local orange tomatoes

-1/2 avocado

-shredded goat gouda

-garlic, sea salt, cayenne, lemon juice

-BBQ tempeh

tempeh

For the tempeh, I just cooked it up in a little BBQ sauce

yogurt

+ sheep’s milk yogurt with Sun Warrior and cinnamon for a snack 🙂

When I got home from the rest of the day, I was so tempted to grab my computer and spend the rest of the night getting work done, but instead I took this little thing for a long walk.

bell10

I felt bad because she was stuck at home while the Pilot and I were at work all day, and I could tell she was ready to shake her legs out and get some fresh air. She definitely used the excess energy- she’s crashed now 😉

Time for me to grab a snack and crank out some computer stuff.

See ya in the morning!
xoxo

Wow I thought the bbq tempeh were walnuts!
Raw sweet potato chips sound delicious- what brand is it you’re holding up?

  2. Shannon on September 22, 2011 at 1:17 am

Sweet potato chips sound delish! 🙂

It looks like you are having a lovely evening! Your co-workers must be feelin it tonight lady!

  4. Amanda on September 22, 2011 at 3:27 am

lol…. yes the HCG diet is a load of crap! If people put half the time and energy into eating well and exercising as they do into finding ‘that magic pill’ they wouldn’t need to lose weight in the first place.

I just got a Chihuahua puppy and I DREAM of the day that I’m able to leave him at home without him pooping all over the place!

Congrats to the Manduka winner…didnt even know you were having that giveaway. I can’t keep up with all the social media pages on top of blog posts but I have had my two manduka mats for almost TEN YEARS each!!! Other mats rip, shred, erode, flake apart.. not those. Seriously…the best!

And I love the bbq tempeh and dipping sauce…mmmm, good!

That BBQ tempeh looks amazing! And even more to-die-for atop a salad beast. And little Bella…awww that picture is SO cute. Presh.

    Stay lovely,
    Heather

Yum– love BBQ tempeh! I love how it crumples like real meat (well, kind of :-)).

Gina, this is a random question, but are you going to get a flu shot this year? I’ve never gotten one before, and now that I’m expecting, I’m a little wary of getting one for more reasons than one, but the signs everywhere in my doctor’s office are starting to get to me (plus we saw Contagion last night, haha). Just wanted to know if you had any thoughts on it as a mama-to-be yourself.

  14. jodie on September 22, 2011 at 9:15 am

100% agree the HCG is crap. I need to try tempeh, been seeing it on all the blogs, will be putting it on my list. Have a fantastic day.

  15. Natalie on September 22, 2011 at 9:32 am

    YAY!!! I am so excited!!

I tried tempeh a week ago for the first time and did not like it. Maybe I will try it with some BBQ and see if that will change my mind because I love BBQ tofu.

  16. Lisa @ Fresh Spinach on September 22, 2011 at 9:41 am

Mmmm. That barbecue tempeh looks and sounds amazing. I must make some for myself! Great idea!

  17. Yolie @ Practising Wellness on September 22, 2011 at 9:46 am

That class you taught at lunchtime sounds intense! In an awesome way 😉 I’m going away on holiday in a couple of days and I am totally gonna write down all of those exercises and do them in my hotel room- I can already tell that would be HARD WORK lol! 😛 Seriously, love it. <3
Aaah…I bet Bella was so thankful for the walk – she looks tired now, at least, and very content! Hope you have lovely relaxing evening 🙂 xyx

That tempheh looks so yummy! I need to try it that way. 🙂

Does Sun Warrior protein powder taste better than Vega protein powder? I just can’t get over the “green” taste of it.

  20. Dana Marie on September 22, 2011 at 9:59 am

    🙁 I was sure I would win ….

  21. Sarah D. on September 22, 2011 at 10:04 am

Just snarfed down some PB&J oats – yummy!! But can we discuss how it looks like the Pilot is in your TV?

    • Fitnessista on September 22, 2011 at 10:57 am

      omg, you’re right!! crazy!

  22. Chelsa on September 22, 2011 at 10:05 am

The bbq tempeh looks so good. I have to make this soon.

  23. Becky @ Fit Chick on the Fly on September 22, 2011 at 10:10 am

I have an 8 month old puppy that has to stay in her crate all day while the BF and I are at work. I feel so guilty, but I just can’t trust the little booger roaming around the house yet. But I always promise her when I get home I’ll take her for a loooong walk or to the park! 🙂

P.S. I think HCG is a big fat load of crap too!

  24. Beth (Well I'll Be) on September 22, 2011 at 10:28 am

Bella’s little gingham harness is so cute. You’re such a good dog mom for taking her for a walk! It’s so hard to do that after a long day of work, even harder after that leg killer you put yourself through!

  25. Andrea P on September 22, 2011 at 10:39 am

I still have not had the balls to try tempeh..it scares me. Throw a lil bbq sauce on though and anything sounds good lol maybe I’ll give it a try. Also, I hope this doesn’t sound creepy but you look gorgeous in that picture! (as always) You just look so happy, I love it 🙂 Hope you have a great day!

    • Fitnessista on September 22, 2011 at 10:56 am

      aww thank you friend!
and yes, bbq makes everything taste good 🙂

  26. Sarah on September 22, 2011 at 10:40 am

My boss & his wife are going to start the HCG diet soon & I think they’re crazy! On top of that they are trying to conceive which seems like totally unsafe timing and….. we work at a gym!! He should know better!

    • Fitnessista on September 22, 2011 at 10:56 am

      🙁 !

  27. Joelle (On A Pink Typewriter) on September 22, 2011 at 11:22 am

I have never heard of the HCG diet, but I just read it and it sounds INSANE.

  28. Haley @ Fit, Young, and Fabulous on September 22, 2011 at 4:26 pm

    Did you make your chips with a dehydrator?! I’m looking into purchasing one! or adding it to my birthday list(;

    • Fitnessista on September 22, 2011 at 9:01 pm

those ones i bought at whole paycheck, but i’ve made my own in the dehydrator so many times 🙂
