Fitness Fashion Friday: Pullover love

The pullover is the MVP of my workout wardrobe. I recently did a little spring clean out, and realized how many I use often -perfect for a coverup when it’s a little chilly at night- and how many have stood the test of time.

This pullover is about 5 years old! I got it from lululemon, and loved the Flashdance off-the-shoulder style. I still wear it all the time,

Pullover and mesh tights

(similar here; pants from Fabletics and sneaks are Keds, which I wear over my barre socks to teach)

and it was a fave when Liv was in my belly.

All that room around the tummy makes at an awesome maternity sweater, or one that withstands the pressure of large meals. 😉

Here are some beautiful pullovers for layering pieces, and the transition from winter to spring:

Pullovers

Zella All Shirred Up

Alo funnel neck sweatshirt

Peace love world “comfy” sweatshirt

lucy Feel the Beat pullover

lululemon Yin to you sweater

GapFit stripe jersey pullover

Fabletics Austin wrap

lucy Keep the Pace half-zip

GapFit Breathe printed pullover

Are you pullover obsessed, too? Where did you get your favorite to-and-from top?

xoxo

Athleta had some cute pullovers in their most recent catalogue. My favorite are the ones with a wide neck.

Awesome weekend outfit, I am obsessed with your sweater – gotta check this brand out! I also LOVE Keds and wear them sockless until they get sweaty and I have to throw them away 😛 They are timeless and classic too, so I am happy they will be around forever!

You are TOTALLY pregnant! Did I miss the announcement???

    • Fitnessista on January 31, 2015 at 2:02 pm

it’s polite to ask, or assume, someone is pregnant if they are crowning before your very eyes. for the record, i’m not pregnant, but if i had been trying for a long time, miscarried, or had some medical issues going on, comments like this would be very hurtful.

      • Kristy B. on January 31, 2015 at 4:37 pm

As somebody who has been trying for a long time and constantly gets the knowing glances and “predictions” I will 100% +1 this reply. I will never, ever even THINK TO MYSELF that somebody is pregnant until they tell me themselves.

    • Yaara Leve on January 31, 2015 at 7:03 pm

OMfreakingG! This is ridiculous. Gina, you DO NOT look pregnant!!!! At All. Actually in your most recent pics you’re looking even more lean and toned than usual! This is so hurtful. I’ve been asked many times if I’m pregnant–when I’m not and it really really stings. It’s difficult enough to maintain a positive body image in one’s own head–and it makes it a thousand times harder when people make comments like this. Have a little compassion!

      • Cat on February 1, 2015 at 6:44 am

For a second I thought the same thing since I was only skimming the post. I noticed the pic where Gina WAS pregnant and mentioning how the sweatshirt is great for maternity wear (that pic is from around the same time of year as now, you know?), and thought I had missed an announcement too! Easy mistake to make if not paying attention. I was about to go back through posts and look for the announcement, or make a congratulatory comment like Ashley’s, until I saw this exchange! Total reading comprehension fail on my part.

Hopefully the comment came from a good place and wasn’t meant to be intentionally hurtful.

        • Cat on February 1, 2015 at 6:45 am

And for the record, no, you don’t look pregnant in the least!!! Aside from in the Santa picture where you said you were. 🙂

  17. Alex @ True Femme on January 31, 2015 at 3:56 pm

That pullover is adorable and it looks so comfy! I actually love your whole outfit in that picture. I currently don’t have a good pullover but I’m on the hunt for one!

  18. Kerry on February 1, 2015 at 1:00 am

    love this! 🙂 x

  19. Milo on February 1, 2015 at 9:02 am

How does Zella compare to lululemon in your opinion? I understand if you don’t want to pick a team/comment on that though 😉

    • Fitnessista on February 1, 2015 at 9:03 am

haha! i love zella. i think the quality is just as good as lulu, but they’re more reasonably priced

      • Milo on February 1, 2015 at 9:16 am

Ah, thank you! Love you + your family + your blog. And you for inspiring, teaching, and sharing! ??

  20. Addison on February 2, 2015 at 10:21 am

I knew that was from lululemon just at a glance! Haha! I have one from last year that is very similar in style but in mint green!

  21. janetha on February 3, 2015 at 2:27 pm

i LIVE in slouchy pullovers! they are the best for breastfeeding! that lulu one you have is so cute. i actually think you might have been wearing it at foodbuzz way back when and i was obsessed w/ it! or it was another lulu hoodie, maybe!

  22. Melissa on February 4, 2015 at 8:40 pm

I have a pullover from Old Navy and I practically live in it!
