Friday Faves

Hellooooooo. 🙂 Happy Friday! What are you up to for the long weekend? The Pilot has some time off work, so I’m excited for some family adventures, like beach time, swimming and grilling with friends. The weather cooled down a little bit, so I can be outside without dying. (Things that don’t make sense: I grew up in the sweltering desert of Arizona, and I’m having a hard time this summer with the heat in such a temperate spot. I call it on humidity.)

Livi started her new preschool! We’re so happy that she’s absolutely loving it. I was worried the first day -and feeling super emotional- and this week, she’s been telling me school is “so awesome.”

And some faves from around the week and web! It’s always fun to shout out some things I’ve been enjoying (wears, eats, reads, songs I worked out to, etc.) and love hearing your faves, too, if you’d like to shout them out in the comments section.

THE HYPE IS REAL.

Cotton candy grapes 1 of 1

I’ve seen these floating around the internets for at least a month now, and thought, “There’s no way a grape tastes like cotton candy.”

Well, on a fruit frenzy in Whole Foods yesterday, I decided to swoop some up and give them a try. Liv and I have eaten almost the entire bag already. They really do taste like cotton candy!!! How did they do this?!?

Also in the food world, I finally picked up some gf soft pretzels (in the frozen section) and they were everything I’d been wishing for.

Of course we had to test them out immediately, and they were awesome.

Barre love is still going strong. It’s one of the few things that feels really good right now, so I’m thankful that I’ve still be able to take a teach classes.

Love little liv.. This is mine now.. I mean come on, can she get any cuter!? I checked out the new naked pallet and wasn’t to impressed. I guess maybe I’m not into the smokey look so much anymore. Naked 3 is my favorite. I’m curious to see what you think! Have an amazing weekend with your precious family!!

    • Fitnessista on September 4, 2015 at 2:08 pm

thank you! she is too funny. yeah i’ll have to see how dark the colors are. naked 2 is my fave (the 3 was too pink for my skin tone) but they make awesome products. have a happy weekend

Those cotton candy grapes are usually gone between the grocery store and home- so, so, good! I was also happy to learn that they are not genetically modified!

    • Fitnessista on September 4, 2015 at 2:07 pm

  6. Megan @ Skinny Fitalicious on September 4, 2015 at 8:31 am

OMG…Liv is adorable and I love her little board too! I haven’t tried the Naked palate, but I spotted it online then talked myself out of it because I always buy a ton of makeup and never wear anything but mascara. I wish I knew how to wear eyeshadow and do fun stuff for going out.

Liv is too cute! Yay for the blogger spotlight! 🙂

My partner and I are both from Hawaii, and he loves surfing. He just came back to WA after summer vacation back home and he’s missing surfing so much! We’re heading out to the coast tomorrow morning so he can get some waves in 🙂

Happy long weekend & labor day to you and your fam!

Humidity can definitely be a beast. Living in the northeast where I am, we rarely get heat without a TON of humidity at the same time. It’s been a sweaty summer!

    • Fitnessista on September 4, 2015 at 2:01 pm

yes!! so sticky :/ you’ll have an awesome fall, though!

  16. Carrie on September 4, 2015 at 12:11 pm

That’s my favorite stretch using the foam roller! We call it the “snow angel” stretch. Also, humidity is no joke! I think that’s why I am so ready for fall this year – temperate weather with little humidity 🙂

    • Fitnessista on September 4, 2015 at 1:59 pm

it feels amaaaaazing. amen to that! bring on some cooler weather 🙂

  17. Julie on September 4, 2015 at 12:23 pm

You’re extra hot this summer b/c your pregnant. I remember feeling about 10 degrees hotter all the time the summer I was pregnant. My due date was around the same time as yours. 😉

    • Fitnessista on September 4, 2015 at 1:59 pm

  18. Barb on September 4, 2015 at 12:40 pm

LOVE the new Naked palette! Super versatile, and I use it all the time…I love how you can do a little lighter for work, and then full on smoky for going out.

    • Fitnessista on September 4, 2015 at 1:58 pm

ahhh! i can’t wait to check it out in person

sending love to you for an awesome week. xo

  25. Jennifer on September 7, 2015 at 1:20 pm

I guess I should pick up those grapes at the grocery store! I keep seeing them and thinking about it, but I get so much produce from my CSA (lots of watermelon, ground cherries, and peaches) But I’ll go for it now.

And yeah humidity is horrible! My parents moved out to Saint George Utah and they would talk about how you could feel the temperature go up each degree when it gets so hot in the desert. And I was like “Whateve! It’s so dry and I’m in love~!” I would take a desert any day over humidity!

    • Fitnessista on September 7, 2015 at 9:52 pm

YES! i can’t wait to go back for more of those things. they did not last long 😉
and totally agree with you. i always thought it was silly when people said az was a “dry heat” but i get it now
