Friday Faves (+ a giveaway)

Hi! TGIF. Hope you’ve had a wonderful week and have some fun plans to look forward to this weekend! We have a couple of fun things in the works, and I’m so excited to see Gone Girl this weekend. I know it probably won’t live up to the book, but… Ben Affleck.

Some faves from the week and around the web:

Fall centerpieces! Even though it was 90 degrees while I put this one together, it felt so right. I got everything at Home Goods; love the leaves, and love that it isn’t too Halloween-y and can stick around until Thanksgiving.

This sign at an Ocean Beach flower shop. Pretty clever marketing 😉

We have figs in the yard! I was a little apprehensive about eating them -it all comes back to childhood trauma from when I ate mushrooms growing outside. It was not a good experience for anyone- but they are delicious.

How to determine blood test results. So helpful!!

What weightlifting for 20 minutes does for your brain.

An amazing feature from Cosmopolitan. Thank you so much for including me <3

All about that upright bass. SO GOOD.

Easy reminders to get in your workout.

Count me healthy bracelets. I was so excited when Chelsea Charles reached out to me about these awesome bracelets. I mean, my permanent marker on the water bottle trick worked to count my water intake, but this is a little more fun. 😉

These gorgeous bracelets can be used to count anything you’d like to track. Some ideas: water intake, weekly workouts, nursing or pumping sessions for mamas, words of kindness, or positive thoughts. They can also be a helpful technique for those who are looking to break habits, such as cigarette smoking (by counting how many days you’ve gone without), or reducing artificial sweeteners. All you do is slide is the little beads from side to side.

Wearing it throughout the day is also a beautiful visual reminder of your goals. I love how well-constructed the bracelets are; while dainty, they’re extremely durable.

Chelsea Charles kindly sent me two bracelets: one for me, and one for one of you. The rose gold Tri-color bracelet I have to give away is valued at $105, and since it’s in my possession, you never know what will make it’s way into the winner’s goodie mail. (I’ve been known to put in fun beauty products, homemade cookies, snacks and treats.)

Happy Friday!

I’d use it to count desserts I pass up…I’ve realized how many “small” treats I allow myself to indulge in throughout the day, but a lot of times it’s just out of habit, or because I think I SHOULD want it instead of being something that I actually enjoy at the time. Trying to get better about waiting for something I REALLY want instead of a little of everything.

I’d love to count positive mantras! My “go-to” thoughts are usually negative/critical, so I’m working to counter these thoughts with positive energy.

I’m loving the genuine appreciation of others when you do something kind for them without any expectation of getting back – best feeling ever to give and see the genuine joy from it!

I am in the process of moving across the country and right now I’m loving the feeling of having less, less of everything! It makes me feel so much more organized. One of those bracelets would help me keep track of my medicine and water!

I am loving having this extra day off with my kids today, which means time for extra yoga, naps and snuggling watching a movie.

I recently had a baby and want to start working out. I think the bracelet would be a fun way to keep track and keep this tired mama motivated!

I’d probably count the number of times I’ve walked around the office–trying to not allow myself to sit so much at work.

I would use it to count exercise… I have been struggling with motivation but I think this would help.

I am loving the actual fall weather we are experiencing in Calgary right now! As opposed to the random snow storms we are usually getting by now 🙂

I’m from Poland and I don’t even know whether it’s international. I’ve decided to leave a comment anyway;). Today I’m loving the fact that today has been my day off, so I could relax, eat some chocolate while drinking a cup of coffee. I really appreciate these little moments when we can think for a while about life and just enjoy this peaceful time. I’d count the days I spent learning English – especially speaking. Honestly, I’m not very good at speaking. I definitely need some practice. Good luck to everyone who enters!

I would use it to count the glasses of water I drink. It would be an awesome reminder to drink up!

I’m trying to reduce my sugar intake, so I would use that adorable bracelet to track anything I eat with a little too much sugar!
