From list to life

Happy Sunday!

A little later blogging today, since we’ve spent the past 12 hours or so sleeping and bringing this list to life:

list

Today I’m making a baby meal for a family and it’s also the Pilot’s b-day BBQ (his actual b-day is tomorrow).

There’s going to be a piñata, so I’m thinking it will be a good time 😉

Last night, after chilling for a while after work, I got started on the cake and cupcakes.

cake

I’m making Ina Garten chocolate cupcakes/cake with peanut butter frosting <—all things that are good in life

+ crushed Reese’s on top and on the sides of the cake

After making the cakes, the Pilot made me a midnight omelet:

[Not my legs, haha]

while Bella attacked her monkey toy.

It was a good night <3

This morning, we slept in a little, grabbed breakfast to-go

bfast

{*this smoothie* for me and a bagel for him}

and ran the rest of the errands to get supplies for the day.

I have a huge appreciation for the commissary here, especially after the lack of selection we had in Valdosta. I wish they had more organic produce, but other than that, it’s pretty baller. Check out the entire aisle of organic and gluten-free goodies:

AMAZING.

Here’s the menu for today: [I’m making double of some items for the party and baby meal to make things easier]

Baby Meal:

-Stuffed chicken (with goat cheese, kalamata olives, basil and sundried tomatoes)

-Greek-style quinoa salad

-Ravioli with cheesy sauce (for their little guy, who is now a big brother! I wasn’t sure if he would like the stuffed chicken)

-Chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting

Pilot’s b-day BBQ:

-Filet mignon (madre is bringing over and grilling)

-Stuffed chicken (same from the baby meal, for me and anyone else who’d like chicken instead of steak)

-Baked potatoes

-Cheesy cornbread with jalapenos

-Greek-style quinoa salad

-Appetizers: White bean and sundried tomato dip with Mary’s crackers, fruit plate (grapes, strawberries, kiwi and mango), chips and salsa

-Dessert: Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting + cupcakes

Cookstravaganza starts in 3…..2…….1……..

See ya later with a family post!

xoxo

Gina

I made my first from-scratch cake about a month ago, and I also used Ina’s PB frosting recipe. To say it was a hit would be the understatement of the year ; )

Enjoy the party! Sounds like a blast.

My guy turns 40 in February and I’m having palpitations at the amount of party planning there is to do. The rest of this comment actually belongs to the previous post, with The Pilot and Bella snuggling up, looking cosy. WE adopted an earthquake orphan cat (hundreds of animals got displaced) and for some reason, she loves Jase but has a snitchy attitude towards me – or, if not snitchy; indifferent. So she will be sitting on his lap, purring and I’ll come over for a cuddle and get growled at, by Miranda (the cat). I’m trying to develop some solidarity – after all, we are the only females in a house of boys, but she is not going for it. Probably psychological trauma…
