Gift guide for your fitness-loving friend

Hi friends! How’s your day going? Livi is taking her afternoon snooze, and then we’re off to get our family Christmas photos taken, and then to Kyle and Meg’s for Friendsgiving. It should be a blast!

Today, I’m also bringing back an annual feature on the blog that I’m always excited about: holiday gift guides! I think this mainly stems from the fact that I’m a notorious late shopper -I like to do a Christmas Eve blitz haha- and it forces me to think of gift ideas for those I love.

The first gift guide could very easily be for many of you: fitness-loving ladies (and dudes). You could even just forward this along to a significant other 😉

Just a head’s up: I’m not affiliated with any of the companies below (with the exception of #13!)– just sharing some products I think are awesome. Occasionally I will include Amazon affiliate links or ShopStyle links within my blog, which have no affect on the purchase price and I’ll earn a very small commission. Thank you so much for supporting this little blog. <3

Fitgiftguide

1. Polar loop. I haven’t tried this one yet, but it looks amazing! The loop is like a small wristband which tracks your activity level, steps, and calories burned throughout the day.

2. Printed tights. Printed leggings are hot right now, and it’s key to find a comfy, functional pair. I tend to like the ones with less intense patterns, like these adorable Zella leggings.

3. iTunes gift card. Fitness fanatics are always looking for ways to spice up their playlist, so you could gift them with an iTunes card, or create a Spotify playlist you know they’d love.

4. Class pass to their favorite fitness or yoga studio. This one is similar to #3, but if you know of a class or studio they love, an amazing gift is to get them a class pass or unlimited month. They’ll think of you each time they use it!

5. Funky yoga tee. Funky Yoga is one of my favorite brands right now– I always get compliments when I wear their cheeky shirts, and I especially adore the soft fabrics they use. Surprise your favorite yogini with a funky tank or tee.

6. Juil ballet flats. Juil shoes contain copper points, which help facilitate the technique of grounding, which brings us closer to the earth. By doing so, it’s possible to feel stress relief and more energized throughout the day. The flats are new -I have a pair of the flip flops and love them- and the colors are gorgeous.

7. Fitness-inspired necklace. (<– fixed the link!) Etsy shopowners have a ton of fantastic options -how cute is the little kettlebell?!- so just search for whatever you’re looking for. A necklace can be a kick of motivation when she needs it, and a great conversation piece while wearing it out and about.

8. Supportive yet beautiful tank. Can never have too many 🙂

9. Sweater that goes from the gym to drinks.

10. New sneaks. This is a great one if your friend or family member has a tried a true sneaker they love, or an activity they particularly adore (like specialty Zumba or CrossFit sneaks).

11. An awesome yoga mat. Manduka = the best.

12. New gym bag packed with mini essentials. It would be a great idea to throw in some travel shampoo and conditioner, dry shampoo, facial cleansing wipes and a pair of socks.

13. Soli Beat! <— had to include it! Thank you so much to those of you who have ordered and love Soli Beat! If you’ve been wanting to try it, we’ll have our last flash sale of the year this Friday-Monday. I’ll post the discount code on Friday and will also email it out to newsletter subscribers. If you already have Soli Beat and would like to submit a short testimonial for our web site, please send me an email: fitnessista at gmail dot com. Thank you!! <3

14. Road ID. An Road ID is an awesome gift for the outdoor fitness enthusiast. It’s customized with emergency contact info and they offer a variety of fun colors and patterns.

15. Sparkly headbands and hair ties. These are great stocking stuffers!

16. Adjustable weight kettlebell.

17. Running jacket. A windproof and water resistant jacket is always a lovely gift for your running friend 🙂

Any gift ideas you can think of for a fitness-loving friend? I’m excited to read your comments– you always have awesome ideas to share. What’s on YOUR gift list this year? Experiences and memories truly make the best gifts of all, but if you could pick something to put in a package, what would you choose?

Hope you’re having a wonderful day!

xoxo

Gina

Love your list! I also posted one here: http://asphaltandtrails.blogspot.com/2013/11/let-gift-giving-begin-winter-2013-must.html. And they are popping everywhere! So many gift ideas!

  2. Alex @ Kenzie Life on November 25, 2013 at 4:52 pm

This is a great list! I’ve been loving Lululemon’s Second Chance pants that are made from the unfortunate a-little-too-sheer pants a while back. They’re perfect for barre classes and great for yoga as well. I think the jo-sha scented yoga mat wipes would make a great little gift for a yogi, with a nice little towel or headband. I’m also a sucker for new water bottles. I love Life Factor and Bkr Bottles personally 🙂 They give me that extra little motivation to stay hydrated and take it to class.

    • Fitnessista on November 25, 2013 at 4:53 pm

      those are awesome ideas!!!

Gym Girl Fitness Gloves are a great stocking stuffer and they currently come in 10 colors, with an additional zebra/pink glove expected to arrive in our warehouse imminently!

I was just wondering if there are plans for a Soli Beat download option? My computer no longer has a CD drive and I don’t even know if I still have a DVD player but would love to purchase and stream it if possible in the future? 🙂

    • Caitlin on November 25, 2013 at 8:33 pm

      Agree!

    • Fitnessista on November 25, 2013 at 9:46 pm

we don’t have a download option right now, but it’s something we may add later. for our next dvd, we will definitely have a download option. thank you for letting me know it’s something you want!

  5. Jackie on November 25, 2013 at 5:59 pm

    Great list!

  6. Ashley on November 25, 2013 at 6:02 pm

None of these gifts would make it into a gift bag before I decided to keep it for myself.

  7. Holly M. on November 25, 2013 at 6:30 pm

The link to the fitness necklaces goes to the flats 🙁 I need a kettlebell necklace in my life haha

  8. Angela @ Eat Spin Run Repeat on November 25, 2013 at 6:32 pm

I love these ideas! I’m putting together a gift guide post for early/mid december, and the iTunes gift cards and passes to fitness/yoga classes are on it! I love experiential gifts so I think buying friends/family tickets to events, classes, or any sort of new experience is a great idea.

  9. Sanaz@runforcake.com on November 25, 2013 at 7:46 pm

What a great list. There are so many fun fitness gifts out there this year. I love getting inspired to write my dear Santa wish list!

  10. Cassie on November 25, 2013 at 8:21 pm

I want to see the necklaces, too! Can you post the correct link in comments?

  11. Dominique @ That's What Domi Said on November 25, 2013 at 9:45 pm

Fantastic list! I think another couple great gifts would be:
    – buying someone’s entry fee for a race they’d love (a special road race, a race for a cause they’re passionate about, an adventure race, etc.)! You could make a homemade “gift card,” too, so they could submit the actual registration themselves.
    – an iPad mini or a Kindle! I love being able to bring my iPad to the gym and use the wifi to stream Netflix while I sweat away on the stairmill. 🙂

Thanks for all the great ideas!

    • Robin on November 26, 2013 at 3:06 pm

I love the entry fee idea! That what holds me back at times. What a great gift idea!

  12. Michelle @ A Healthy Mrs on November 25, 2013 at 10:02 pm

These are all great ideas! They may make an appearance on my own wish list 🙂

  13. Kelly @ Laughter, Strength, and Food on November 25, 2013 at 10:02 pm

Love this list! I am notorious for buying my husband new running shoes every year! Also, I love to buy my fellow Jazzercise instructors new workout tanks or coverups…you can never have too many!

  14. Meagan on November 25, 2013 at 10:22 pm

AH!!! I LOVE all these ideas!!!

  15. Lindsay on November 25, 2013 at 10:25 pm

You say you’re not affiliated with any of the companies but several of the links are affiliate links. I think you should clarify. Also, you technically are affiliated with juil, as they sent you that pair of sandals for free four months ago.

    • Fitnessista on November 26, 2013 at 12:43 am

I meant that as in the companies are not paying me to link to them- I chose all the products because I thought they were cool. Yes, juil sent me the sandals 🙂 I’m pretty sure I didn’t use any amazon affiliate links or I would have clarified. For the shopstyle links, I will add a note!

  16. Maria on November 25, 2013 at 10:51 pm

These are great ideas! I’ve been hinting to my husband about a class package at a new barre studio opening in our hometown.

  17. Shaina Anderson on November 25, 2013 at 11:44 pm

Can you have the pilot do a guest post on gift ideas for men (husbands/dads)? I swear my husband is the hardest person to shop for and most of my lady friends agree about their guys! 🙂

Also…variable weight kettlebell?! Hello! How did I not know about this?!

  18. Simone on November 26, 2013 at 2:02 am

Great suggestions! Those Juli flats look amazing, might have to add those to MY own gift list 🙂

  19. Laura B @ Fit Mama Love on November 26, 2013 at 2:10 am

Some good ideas here! New sneakers are definitely on my list. So is a Pilates mat and foam roller! I only use one at the gym, but would love one at home. Also new Lulu because one can never have enough! Especially now that I’m starting to teach, I need more options since my laundry has been piling up more than usual.

  20. Mila on November 26, 2013 at 4:40 am

Great ideas! Is it sad that I want to get most of these for myself? Where is my spirit of giving!?

As for affiliate links (not from the list above) – I would totally visit your Amazon store if you had one! I love your reviews and discovering new products, and especially anything related to workout clothes/gear.

    Happy Thanksgiving week 🙂

  21. Missy on November 26, 2013 at 6:35 am

Darn it, now you just gave me more ideas for Christmas presents for ME! That’s not what was supposed to happen here, was it?

  22. Steven Le on November 26, 2013 at 7:06 am

I think I’ve just decided to cancel Christmas presents this year and just buy myself everything!

That being said, a running jacket right now would be perfect considering how could it is now. Totally destroying my motivation for early morning 6am runs… WAY TOO COLD!

  23. Maria P. on November 26, 2013 at 8:24 am

I just got those Zella purple pants this weekend and looooove them! Super soft. I also love the Unit-Y shirts from Nordstrom, which are also incredibly comfy and have fun tag lines like “sweat junkie” and “when in doubt, work it out”.

  24. Joanne on November 26, 2013 at 8:43 am

    That Reebok sweater is adorable!

  25. Lindsay & Tim @ Fit with Farrar on November 26, 2013 at 8:57 am

Great list!! It’s a great time of year to give health/fitness-based gifts…especially because people get that buzz on January 1 🙂

  26. Julie on November 26, 2013 at 1:35 pm

I’ve been wanting that kettlebell necklace! I want one of those kettlebells too – an adjustable one is perfect.

  27. Yvonne on November 26, 2013 at 2:03 pm

An adjustable kettlebell???? Mind. Blown. Thanks for sharing!

  28. Rachel @ The Mason Maison on November 26, 2013 at 4:08 pm

Love this list! I’m really loving all the gift guides popping up 🙂 I just started a blog and did my own today on Etsy gifts.

awesome list! I definitely have leggings and a running jacket on my list!

  31. Mariah on November 27, 2013 at 12:56 pm

I love sending subscription boxes to my friends and family! Most places offer short-term gift subscriptions. Birchbox or Julep for the beauty oriented, and I love Bulu Box for my health/fitness-minded friends! http://www.bulubox.com

  32. Kevie on November 28, 2013 at 12:55 pm

    Gina,

Thanks for this list, I want everything on it! I also want those orange/pink fair isle leggings – you were wearing in your post about Panera and your friend has them in your last week’s Friday Faves post. Can you share the brand or shop where those are from?

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    • Fitnessista on December 4, 2013 at 5:57 pm
