Green Thang

Hey friends hey Open-mouthed smile How’s your day going? Hope it’s been lovely.

Last night, we went to see Wicked again. A Friday night ritual, perhaps? Smile

wicked

We had amazing seats,

wicked (2)

but sadly this was my view for most of it:

hair

Being very tall is a blessing I wasn’t bestowed with, but every angle of hair was teased :/ I spent the show peering to the side, but it was still incredible.

I just drank some vino and listened to the beautiful music:

This morning, I made some green juice:

juice

Check out the cute twisted romaine! I only used half the lemon

(I make my smoothies in the Vita-mix, and juices in the juicer… which is not a picnic to clean, but worth it)

and had a b-fast from the swamp  Winking smile

quinoa

-Quinoa with Vega protein (which turned it green!)

-almond milk, cinnamon and Stevia

-a joyous blob of almond butter

It was uhmazing.

The plan was to go to Phoenix for a night of shopping and dinner, but my friends and I decided to lay low here and do dinner + movies instead.

What are you up to tonight?

I’m off to do a fun interval workout- see ya laterrrrr <3

xoxo

Gina

PS. My friend and I just signed up for a half marathon. What was I thinking?! I’m actually really excited because it will be my first race sans pressure. I’ll just have fun with it and walk if I need to.

I hate getting stuck behind people that block the view. And that is some crazy hair.

I am so jealous that you saw Wicked! I just picked up the piano sheet music for the whole show today…it’s awesome, although “Defying Gravity” is quite tricky! Have you tried it?

    • Fitnessista on January 16, 2011 at 1:52 pm

i have tried it… and it kicked my booty. i really need to get back into piano more– i go through spurts where i’ll play everyday and then wont touch it for months

Not even good hair!!! Major bummer! We spent the day as a family at Garden of the Gods and it was FABULOUS! (This is my first time at your blog!)

  7. Maryann on January 16, 2011 at 12:43 am

Oh no! I am short and always seem to get the seat behind the tall person or the person with the big hair.

Good for you for signing up for the half!! I may be doing a half or full in May, I need to commit soon!

  8. Christin@purplebirdblog on January 16, 2011 at 12:47 am

That is some crazybig hair! And I love that vase behind your juice!

Juicers are the WORST to clean up! But your juice looks mighty tastey =]

you love that Wicked, don’t you? hee-hee!

Mmm green drink! I miss mine but with it being soooo cold i just cant do it.

Aww that sucks about your seat! 🙁 Since I’m short too, I always have trouble seeing around people sitting in front of me. It’s so annoying!

  12. Haleigh on January 16, 2011 at 10:26 am

As a fellow shorty, I definitely appreciate some one with flat hair in front of me 🙂 Wicked is my absolute favorite musical!! I saw it in NYC a few years ago, but I haven’t seen the traveling cast yet.

Aaah, I’m sooo jealous! I want to see Wicked so badly, it’s my second favorite broadway play (Rent is the first).

Good for you for signing up for the half! I have one a week from today, eeek!

I love Wicked!!! Glad you enjoyed the show 🙂 YUMMY GREEN JUICE.

    Hi Gina,
I did a quick search on the blog and saw that you use the Jack Lalanne juicer. How does it deal with wheatgrass? I am thinking of purchasing a juicer because I tend to spend too much at WF on fresh juice. The Jack Lalanne seems reasonable in price compared to so many others that I have seen. Can it handle ginger chunks?

    Thanks so much,
    Janna

    • Fitnessista on January 16, 2011 at 1:50 pm

it can handle ginger chunks but it doesn’t do well with wheatgrass. for that youd prob need a wheatgrass juicer- or i like to buy the frozen wheatgrass chunks from whole foods and blend it into smoothies

  16. Jessica M on January 16, 2011 at 12:30 pm

What kind of juicer to you have? Would you reccomend it? I’m in the market for one.

    • Fitnessista on January 16, 2011 at 1:50 pm

i have a jack lalanne and love it!

  17. Ang on January 16, 2011 at 12:57 pm

That hair is nuts! I like that you called your breakfast “breakfast from the swamp” – a lot of people only post photos of their “beautiful” foods, even when a lot of less-pretty foods are just as delicious!

I tried to add your RSS feed to my reader, but it just comes up with a list of posts in text format. It might just be me, but it might be broken! 🙁

    • Fitnessista on January 16, 2011 at 1:49 pm

      it is broken :/
i’m getting a blog makeover and in the process, that will get fixed!

  18. Taylor on January 16, 2011 at 2:07 pm

I’m a musical junkie, but have yet to have the opportunity to see Wicked. Quite jealous!

  19. Jenn on January 16, 2011 at 6:34 pm

I had a similar problem yesterday. I saw “la cage aux folles” last night, and although I was in the front row, there was a family sitting in the “premium” seats–which are tables directly in front of the stage. A tall woman obstructed my view..and I’m 5’0 (a little shorter maybe). The show was still uber fun! Congrats on signing up for the half!!
