Happy 2014!

How’s your year going so far? 😉

I rang in 2014 with menudo at the madre’s house:

Menudo

and many gutter balls.

It was our first time taking Livi bowling, and we figured it would be a fun New Year’s activity that she’d enjoy. (It was also an option that didn’t require staying out late… after 8pm, our princess turns into a pumpkin.) She loved it! Nana won a free month of bowling for up to 6 people, so I have a feeling it will become a regular thing.

The evening ended watching Scandal in bed, surprisingly staying awake until midnight, and 9 hours of glorious sleep.

Morning juice:

Juice24

My juice and smoothie crazes tend to occur during the summer, but we’ve been frequently enjoying them this winter. We have at least one smoothie or juice per day, and I especially love that they’re quick and easy way to get produce servings and nutrients. This morning’s combo: apple, carrot, cucumber, spinach, ginger and lemon. It was amazing!

We went over to madre’s this morning for a huge family breakfast, and have been wonderfully lazy.

(Bella, praying for a bite of chorizo from my Tata)

I got in a killer workout yesterday (20 minute circuit + a 3 mile run around the neighborhood) and will probably just enjoy a walk with the fam later today.

Just wanted to say a quick “hi” and hope you’re having a lovely new year. Don’t forget to leave a link to your inspiration board on the this post. I’ve loved seeing your goals and plans for the upcoming year!

xoxo

Random: who’d you kiss at midnight last night? (Pets count, too, just sayin’) What did you do to ring in the new year?

Happy New Year, Gina! All the best for 2014!

Last night I kissed my husband & my mini dachshund — in that order 🙂

  2. Amy @ Love 'N' Camo on January 1, 2014 at 5:20 pm

I kissed my pup last night! Next will be Dave and my first new year together, and we will be newly married so I am sure it will be much more exciting! 😉

  3. Tammy on January 1, 2014 at 5:28 pm

I kissed the hubby and we enjoyed a glass of Moscato Spumante champagne. I would have kissed the pups also, but they were both sleeping already.

  4. Kim @ Hungry Healthy Girl on January 1, 2014 at 5:39 pm

It was only my son and I that made it to the new year without falling asleep. We kissed, hooted and hollered and then crawled into bed about 5 minutes after the ball dropped. 🙂 Looks like you had a lovely night. Here’s to a fabulous 2014 to the both of us!

Kissed the husband and rang in the New Year with friends at our house drinking way too much beer and champagne. This is most likely my last pregnant/child free New Years so I figured I would live it up. 😉 Spending the day sipping tea under the blanket, wishing that I hadn’t had so much to drink, per tradition Lol.

We stayed up but it was a pretty mellow night since we had a blizzard outside! Perfect New Years though and it was fun to relax 🙂

I was asleep long before midnight, but I kissed my husband Happy New Year! when I woke up this morning! 🙂

  8. Alison @ Daily Moves and Grooves on January 1, 2014 at 6:07 pm

Awesome that Liv had a fun first bowling experience! Looks like you all had a wonderful New Year celebration together 🙂
I spent the night with my family eating dinner at our favorite Japanese restaurant and chilling out on the couch at home while watching the ball drop!

sounds like a wonderful way to spend NYE! happy 2014 🙂

Happy New Year! I finally opened your giveaway package after returning home from traveling for a couple of weeks. I LOVE everything–thank you so much, again!

As for last night, I was stuck on an airplane at midnight, waiting to take off for an extra three hours at O’Hare. I intended on being at my destination long before midnight, but Chicago weather had other plans for me. The pilot announced when it turned 2014 in both Eastern and Central time. Not exactly what I had planned, but everyone on the plane was in surprisingly good spirits. :]

We were in a movie when the ball dropped so I missed out on my kiss until later.

  12. Amanda on January 1, 2014 at 8:06 pm

Can you pretty please do a post on juicing? I’d love, love, love that! Happiest new year!

sure! 🙂 happy new year to you, too!

  13. Sanaz@ Run for Cake on January 1, 2014 at 8:31 pm

We were wild kids and stayed home 🙂 We let our one year old hang out extra late (aka 8pm) and did a count down with her for fun before she went to bed. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay awake so I missed the ball drop but sometimes there is nothing more exciting then sleep! Looks like you had a fun night.

    Happy New Year!

that sounds like a great night to me! it’s funny when 8 becomes “late” (i know how that is, haha)
      happy new year!! xoxo

This was the first year that I was in bed sound asleep before midnight. The fireworks woke us up at midnight, we both rolled over, gave a quick kiss, and went straight back to bed. It was perfect 🙂

  15. Katie @ Talk Less, Say More on January 1, 2014 at 8:57 pm

Kiss on New Years? Yeah, that didn’t happen…HA!
But I had a great night in by myself – watching a movie, reading, creating my 2014 vision board and drinking a couple glasses of wine. The weather was bad and it was a great evening – it’s not as depressing as it may sound. 😉

    I kissed my hubby…our first New Year’s as a married couple! <3

P.S. Our nephew had a bowling birthday party a few weeks ago and it was the first time I had bowled in years…and I forgot how terrible I was! It really is fun, though!

  17. Carson on January 1, 2014 at 10:52 pm

I was totally lame (like usual) and was in bed by 10pm last night. My husband works night shift and was at work and I had to be at my job at 6am, so there was no way this maw maw was ringing in the new year.

  18. Laura B @ FitMamaLove on January 2, 2014 at 12:49 am

We didn’t even make it to East Coast midnight! We’re all sick over here and we were just dying to go to bed. We enjoyed crab for dinner and some sparkling wine, though. Today we’re all sick, but headed to the beach anyway for some fresh air since we are tired of being stuck inside with our colds. Hopefully the rest of 2014 is better than the past few days have been for us!

  19. Erin @ Girl Gone Veggie on January 2, 2014 at 12:55 am

I gave my husband his first married New Years kiss! We were swanky (for the first time ever) and celebrated NYE at a black tie affair. I’m typically in PJs at home watching the ball drop so this was so out of my comfort zone but so much fun!

  20. CourtStar @ StarSystemzFitness on January 2, 2014 at 2:08 am

I kissed my husband for the FOURTH New Years being together + our SECOND as a married couple! its so special and sacred to me to think of that! Happy New Years xo

  21. Lucie@FitSwissChick on January 2, 2014 at 3:49 am

We’re always invited to a private party on the 30th – which always turns into such a blast with dancing and drinks, that it’s impossible for me to stay up until midnight on the 31st…..totally fine! 🙂

  22. Maria on January 2, 2014 at 8:09 am

Happy New Year! I kissed my husband at midnight at my sister’s house party 🙂 It was a lot of fun!

  23. Courtney C on January 2, 2014 at 10:34 am

I kissed a guy I’m dating at midnight.. and we celebrated by going over to my friend’s house where we ate, drank, and played Cards Against Humanity!

  24. Missy @ Life After Morning Coffee on January 2, 2014 at 1:39 pm

I kissed my husband (our first New Years as a married couple!) and our two pups 🙂 Three kisses at midnight makes this gal super lucky!

  25. Livi on January 2, 2014 at 10:47 pm

My boyfriend and I couldn’t be together but he sent me a “kiss” at midnight!!

  26. Ali on January 2, 2014 at 11:05 pm

How far are you in Scandal? I started watching it back in October and sadly, the day has come…I’m super depressed. I’m all caught up and anxiously awaiting the next season. Isn’t it THE BEST? I think it’s by far the best show I’ve seen in a long, long time. Enjoy friend 🙂
