Houses and Bfast All the Livelong Day

Hi friends! How was your Sunday? Hope it was amazing 😀

Newfound hobby: I LOVE HOUSE SHOPPING.

It was such a blasty and definitely gave me a more clear idea of what we’re looking for.

Before house hunting, I met up with my Nana, Tata, Madre and little bro at the Delicious Egg for b-fast.

The coffee flavor of the day was cinnamon toast (YUM) and I ordered the egg white and 7 veggie omelet with no cheese, salad on the side.

They actually brought me two salads since the omelets come with two sides, so I was happy to take care of both 🙂

After b-fast, I went to pick up my other nana for house hunting.

We had so much fun looking around,

from the… interesting:

to the swankalicious.

and checking out all of the special features each place had to offer.

kiva

(Hot tea or margaritas around the kiva? Yes please)

wine cooler

Tucson architecture is incredibly unique and I appreciate all of the little special features.

Many of the houses we checked out also had breathtaking mountain views.

Lurve lurve so much.

After checking out houses for 3 hours (!) I went back to my nana’s house to discuss with her, and she brought out homemade mushroom quiche:

quiche

and fresh fruit.

You guys know I don’t usually roll with flaky, buttery pastry crusts or cheese, but I’m not about to turn away a piece of nana’s homemade quiche. It was INCREDIBLE… she could give Barefoot Contessa a run for her money 😉

We found one house that really stood out to us… 4 bedrooms, tall ceilings, a huge backyard with a pool and basketball court, and glorious kitchen. It’s the perfect entertaining house- I can’t wait to have dinner parties again.

So I told the Pilot that it’s tied with the other house I’m in love with (which is cozier and doesn’t need quite as much fixing up), so when he’s here we’re going to go on one more house-hunting spree.

I’m about to dig into the b-fast cookie I put in the fridge this morning- it’s officially been b-fast all day up in here 😀

Have a lovely night and I’ll see ya in the morning <3

xoxo

Gina

OMG – please tell me that the house you like is the one with the built-in wine fridge. That would sell me in .05 seconds!

those homes are BEAUTIFUL! what an exciting time. made even more exciting by quiche!

    • Fitnessista on March 13, 2011 at 10:28 pm

that quiche was the icing on the cake 🙂

  3. Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) on March 13, 2011 at 10:27 pm

I bet your nana COULD give Ina Garten a run for her money. I would love to have either of them cook for me one day in this lifetime 🙂

The houses…the swanky one rocks. It’s very San Diego, too. Lots of Orange Co., San Diego, Tuscon, Phoenix…all have that vibe with the mountains in the background and the canyons and wide expansive outdoor views with awesome interiors like granite, hardwood, and stainless. And great bathrooms. That’s pretty much my go-to wish list in a house.

House hunting being fun?! Glad you are having fun with it! I find it to be exhausting…then again, putting a kid in and out of a carseat 17 times and telling them “don’t touch anything honey!” is hard work…haha!

Can’t wait to see what you and the pilot decide to get. I am living vicariously…and I love it 🙂

Awww, I love house-shopping, too! I’m not in a position to be buying just yet (I’m in grad school & the hubbs just opened his own business so we need a little more stability first), but my mom is a realtor and I’ve ALWAYS loved going around and just checking out houses with her. I’m a total snoop, so I’ve always loved checking out houses in my neighborhood whenever they go on the market to see their floor plans, etc.

  11. Mara @ What's For Dinner? on March 13, 2011 at 10:49 pm

I’d love to be able to house-shop… we’re stuck where we are until our hypothetical child is at least in Kindergarten! Love you friend 🙂

  15. Katie @ Nourishing Flourishing on March 13, 2011 at 11:01 pm

I would love a house that is basically designed for being hospitable! Of course, the highlight of the day seemed to be quality time with fam. Love it 🙂

  17. Amanda on March 13, 2011 at 11:17 pm

That’s an awesome kitchen. Is that the place your trying to get?

    • Fitnessista on March 13, 2011 at 11:34 pm

      perhaps yes 🙂

  18. J3nn (Jenn's Menu and Lifestyle Blog) on March 13, 2011 at 11:20 pm

House shopping is lots of fun!! When you have a good selection. Our housing market is kind of dry around here; not too options for the style and size we’re looking for. Too many home owners are upside down, so selling would be to their disadvantage here in upstate, NY. 🙁 If nothing comes on the market, we’re considering building.

Hope you find what you’re looking for. Sounds like you have some great options right now. Woo hoo!! 🙂

I’d love to eat at a place that gave me two salads!! And yes, your Nana’s quiche looks amazing. As does the fresh fruit. Yum!

  19. Amanda (Eating Up) on March 13, 2011 at 11:22 pm

House hunting sounds like so much fun. Can’t wait to read more of your adventures!

Oh my word!! Those houses! I’m incredibly jealous, they’re ALL so beautiful! English houses are nothing like that at all! I especially love those huge windows in the living room. It’s my dream to one day live somewhere that’s warm enough that I can have a pool in my backyard.

  27. lindsay on March 14, 2011 at 7:14 am

i’d totally buy that house just for the wine storage and patio. No shame in that! hehe! Lovely views too. Can I come visit?
    😉

  33. Anne Marie on March 14, 2011 at 9:09 am

The house is beautiful!! House hunting is definitely addicting. Our realtor told us that men set the budget and women tend to break it 🙂

  34. Jason @ Shutter&Saute on March 14, 2011 at 9:17 am

That adobe style fireplace is awesome, I would love to have one of those!

  35. LisaG on March 14, 2011 at 9:19 am

I LOVE that bathtub with the steps! And the mountain views!

  37. Mo on March 14, 2011 at 9:32 am

Those photos are just beautiful. I can’t even imagine waking up every morning to a view like that. I wonder if that is something that people continue to appreciate? Or do they lose that appreciation over time, like a new toy gets old? It would never get old to me – if you decide to buy one with a view like that – please keep the photos coming! Take care and have a good week my friend.

  38. LauraJayne on March 14, 2011 at 1:01 pm

I LOVE seeing pictures of your house hunting adventures! My parents are starting a house hunt now, and I’ve been volunteering to accompany them on their search!

  39. Dominique @ The Good Life on March 14, 2011 at 1:38 pm

That kitchen…and that reading nook….and the pool! It’s SWANKGASMIC! Of course, now I can’t wait to buy my first house!

  40. Mindy on March 14, 2011 at 2:31 pm

wow some awesome features – two ovens? Cool!
I love mushroom quiches! I’m letting go of eggs in my diet though and I didn’t realize that would mean no more quiche. 🙁

  41. Clare @ Fitting It All In on March 14, 2011 at 3:00 pm

LOVE house hunting..and House Hunters! Even though I’m only 23 and not looking to buy at all, I spend lots of time stalking houses and apartments on Craigs List!

  42. Rose on March 14, 2011 at 6:15 pm

We love going to open houses at places we could never afford too. It’s so much fun to dream about actually living in a house like that on a military salary! Thanks!

  43. Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin on March 14, 2011 at 6:38 pm

I love that bathtub with steps! I can see myself sitting in there with some bubbles, a glass of wine, and a good book! 😀
