Humpday Booty Burner

Sometimes, late at night, the Pilot and I will look each other in the eyes and we know.

Froyo.

Froyoman

“Do you want to go, or you want me to?”

Thank goodness BTO is open late, aaaaand they have an awesome variety of dairy-free flavors and tons of toppings. I think we’ve mastered the art of making each other’s favorite froyo- while the Pilot likes his to resemble pie as closely as possible (vanilla or cinnamon froyo with cherries and graham crackers), I prefer a sampler of the dairy-free flavors with chocolate chips, some berries and hot peanut butter.

Gocats

When I would read about bloggers going to Pinkberry or Menchie’s all the time, I used to be kind of jealous 😉 Now that I’ve found a close froyo place with dairy-free options, I’m making up for lost time.

When I got home, I put out the call on Facebook to see if you would like a booty burner or ab burner for today.

Facebook

It was such a close one, I decided to go with booty. It is humpday, after all. I promise to get an ab burner up soon, too!

Booty

Hope you enjoy this little workout quickie.

A couple of notes:

-As always, check with a doc before making any fitness changes. Honor your body and your injuries

-Warm up for about 5 minutes before starting the video

-I filmed it in one take, with the exception of the last set because my Flip ran out of room. A of couple bloopers occur.

-Sore city today!

When you try it, please leave a comment and let me know what you think and if you’d like more of these in the future <3

xoxo

Gina

    I am burning!!!

I wanted a full body workout today, so I did the Humpday Booty Burner and the Killer Arm Workout from the Fitness page. Now everything is burning!! I loved the booty burner because it was hard but now impossible.

Oh, love this booty burner! I always need extra motivation to work out my booty…and my goal is to create a little extra oomph back there:) Definitely will be trying this out later! I think I’m the only blogger who doesn’t like frozen yogurt!

  16. Stacy on August 29, 2012 at 2:57 pm

I love the video and will be doing this workout later today. It looks tough! I also got the impression that you would be great at fitness videos! Any plans???

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 3:23 pm

      thank you! they’re nike frees

  18. OneFitTwoFit on August 29, 2012 at 3:45 pm

What I like about this is that it’s short and focused. It still allows me to design what I want for my workout, since I would basically tag it onto whatever lifting or cardio I had planned. It would be cool to have a series of these that I can cobble together however I want. Thanks so much for your work!

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:15 pm

that makes me so happy! glad you enjoyed 🙂

Your first 2 sentences seriously made me laugh. I just recently discovered that there’s a Menchies closer to me than I thought (still 30 minutes away, but I seriously thought nothing like that existed in a one hour radius). I honestly JUST discovered this fact out 2 days ago, and now it’s all I can think about. Let’s just say I begged the husband to take me their on Friday – sold!

I cannot wait to try all the dairy-free options. Now I’m secretly going to be eyeing what my hubby puts on his to see if I would have been able to make him one without him there 😛

Random comment but your sweet potato chili was a hit with my fam! Thanks for the recipe xx

i’m having that for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow 🙂 so happy they liked it!

Would this also help with my thighs? My thighs have always been an issue for me. What can I do to get them a little smaller?

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:18 pm

this will definitely help tone thighs. it’s a mix of strength training, cardio (alt intensities) and clean eats

I love froyo! they have one in State College so I try to stop by there as often as I can. I love getting lychee and pineapple on top of a berry froyo and cookie dough and chocolate chips on top of a decadent froyo like cake batter. It’s so good!

  25. Jennifer Tu on August 29, 2012 at 6:17 pm

Burn baby burn and a huffing and a puffing!!! Love this Gina! Thank you so much for putting together this video. So easy to follow. You are like my own personal trainer.

  26. Melodie on August 29, 2012 at 6:28 pm

i loved the workout!! i actually did it between 2 sets of your tabata videos. i need to go back and pull from your previous videos when i need to get a quick workout in, on a day like today. thanks!

  27. Katie on August 29, 2012 at 7:18 pm

Just finished! Great mini bum burner! I have done the tabata videos also & have to say, I enjoy working out “with” you because you definitely push me to keep up with you! Great job!

  28. Leslie on August 29, 2012 at 7:28 pm

Girl you rock. I took my phone with me to the lifetime fitness this afternoon. I found an empty classroom and did the workout along with you. I used a step bench and modified the jumping moves due to my knees. It was tough, but I loved it. Felt sorta like I took a mini class with you. Thank you for kicking my butt today.

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:20 pm

      whoo hoo! anytime, my friend

  29. Lauren on August 29, 2012 at 8:25 pm

Dayummmm. This work-out is the jam. You rock, lady!! Oh, and side note: The Pilot is completely adorable. Lucky duck, you 😉

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:20 pm

      i am a very lucky girl 🙂

  30. Cassie on August 29, 2012 at 8:33 pm

    Hi Gina,

Love the humpday booty burner- can’t wait to make my turbo class suffer/enjoy some of the moves tonight!

Have you tried Zing bars? I just tried the PB chocolate chip one today and it reminded me of a cross between a Larabar and eating chocolate chips out of a PB jar – it made me think of you, so I thought I’d let you know 🙂

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:20 pm

i will have to be on the hunt for these- sounds amazing!

  31. Sarah on August 29, 2012 at 8:54 pm

Love when you post videos! This one had my quads burning more than my booty, but any burn is better than no burn. 🙂

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:20 pm

that’s what i thought while i was filming it, but today.. quads and booty are sore!

  32. Brittany on August 29, 2012 at 8:55 pm

Isaac and I give each other that same look! We have two fro yo places within one block of our house. It’s a challenge not to have fro yo every night after dinner. My favorite combo is tart + peanut butter fro yo topped with almonds and lots of fruit.

  33. @pluvk on August 29, 2012 at 10:00 pm

I just love your workouts. I get so excited when I see posts with workouts included. Thanks so much! I will definitely try it and tweet the results! 🙂

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:21 pm

can’t wait to hear what you think! i love your tweets 🙂

  34. Natalie @ FreshLifeFindings on August 29, 2012 at 10:10 pm

My husband and I do the same thing every weekend with menchies. We have a slight addiction to coconut fro yo. Thanks for the booty burner! Looks like a good one!

  35. Joelle (on a pink typewriter) on August 29, 2012 at 10:17 pm

I wish i could find some dairy free fro-yo! Is it made with coconut milk or something similar, or is it actually more of a sorbet?

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:21 pm

i have no idea how they make it. haha

  36. Erin on August 29, 2012 at 10:19 pm

G$ – my buns are BURNING!!! omg. I’m going to have a hard time going up the stairs tomo – Thanks for this 🙂

Love the fro-yo trips!!! I have yet to find a dairy=free option near me….bummer.

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:21 pm

      yeahhhhh! so glad you enjoyed!

  37. vicky on August 29, 2012 at 10:20 pm

question about the booty… is it possible to work the glutes so they get bigger while overall losing weight/inches? or… just as there’s no such thing as spot reduction, there’s no such thing as spot gaining? haha or is it more of making sure your waist is whittled to create the illusion of a larger booty? halp me!

    • Fitnessista on August 29, 2012 at 10:24 pm

lifting heavy (like squat with a smith machine or heavy barbell, it will help to increase muscle mass and therefore size. it’s really more about creating shape than anything- if there’s not a ton of muscle there (a flat look), strength training, lots of squats, lunges and hilly cardio will help

  38. Emily @ Perfection Isn't Happy on August 29, 2012 at 10:23 pm

This made me laugh. My husband and I are the same way when it comes to ice cream and/or fro yo :)!

  39. Heather on August 29, 2012 at 10:57 pm

Random thought while watching the RNC: The Pilot kinda looks like Paul Ryan. Not a dead ringer, but possibly brothers!

    • Fitnessista on August 30, 2012 at 12:14 am

i thought she same- they look fairly similar 🙂

    • Alexa on August 30, 2012 at 8:46 pm

  40. Melissa @ Fit 'N' Well Mommy on August 29, 2012 at 11:04 pm

Frozen yogurt is such a weakness of mine, especially peanut butter with Reese’s pieces on top! I love the video, too!

  41. Lauren @ Sassy Molassy on August 29, 2012 at 11:55 pm

That was a fun one. I always enjoy the ab burners and maybe some more arm toners too? During one of the fitness classes I take occasionally, we sometimes do like a minute of these LOW and fast squat pulses and ouch, I always feel those the next day or two.

  42. Caralyn @ glutenfreehappytummy on August 30, 2012 at 12:00 am

oh froyo:) I’m more of a “pie-resembler” but with dairy-free froyo:) great workout!!

  43. Jen Villa on August 30, 2012 at 12:42 am

So my bo-tay is already on FIYA! Yay! I’ve missed the burn.

Love this & can’t wait for abs!

        awesome! me too 🙂

  44. Ksenija on August 30, 2012 at 4:51 am

Finally that froyo arrived in Germany, I still haven’t try it since they do not offer any dairyfree alternative at all. Reading about soy frozen yogurts or even better the coconut ones makes me so jealous!

  45. Joanne @ threeunderthree on August 30, 2012 at 6:23 am

I cannot wait to try this tonight (is it weird that I’m excited for the burn lol?) 🙂

I’ve never tried dairy-free froyo but I did recently find a great probiotic froyo

  46. Jennifer on August 30, 2012 at 7:49 am

Wow… Feel the burn! Awesome! Loved it!

  49. Becki on August 30, 2012 at 9:50 am

This was a fun work out and I loved that it was so quick! Jumping lunges have always been impossible for me! I feel like I lose all control of my legs. They are definitely something to work on so I’m glad that you tossed them into the mix. Thanks!
