I thrive on crazy

Hello! How’s your day going?

Mine has been insanity (and I still have 5 hours of craziness left) so here’s the fastest blog post in the history of Gina 😉

My own personal Edward Cullen and I finished up our tree last night:

tree

I LOVE the the new ornaments we got! SPARKLY 😀

This morning, I got up early with the puppers and had some maca cacao oats for bfast

bfast

1/3 cup oat bran, 1 cup water, 1 T brown rice protein, 1/2 T maca, 1 T raw cacao powder, 2 packs Stevia, cinnamon, sea salt and a smashed nanner

Per my training schedule, which I got from Runner’s World, courtesy of Katie –I decided to start following one 5 weeks before my half. Oops- I went to the track and did 3 miles in 29 minutes. I was *supposed* to run a little slower because it’s an “easy run” day, but my sick playlist kept making me want to speed up! After that, I walked around and stretched… glorious 😀

Stopped at Winn Dizzle for organic eggs, then came home for a cooking extravaganza.

Yellow cupcakes for Jeni’s birthday (it’s tomorrow)

yellowbatter

Vegan chocolate chip oatmeal cookies (ED & BV)

veganchipdough

And started dinner in the slow cooker.. Sweet Potato and Black bean chili(I’ll post the recipe tonight)

spchili

I packed up some goodies to take to my juice bar and health food store friends:

goodies

Spence traded me a wheatgrass shot for some goodies 😀 A

I stopped at Publizzle to get organic chicken for the pilot and cash some paychecks, and now I’m off to work!

Here’s what the rest of the day is looking like:

-Consultation with a blog reader (!) and potential training client

-Jeni’s house to work on Christmas party plans

-Back to work for two training appointments

-Coming home to make marbled pumpkin cheesecake for this Friday’s dinner party

-Stuffing my face with sweet potato black bean chili

-Writing

I’m out like (raw) sauerkraut 😀

xoxo,

G

WHO’S STOKED FOR NEW MOON this weekend?!!?! *screams like a Jacob-obsessed tween*

    Dear Gina

If we somehow magically lived in the same city I would totally hire you for some training! 🙁
I recently lost approx 30lbs and am left with a decent body… however it could use quite a bit of toning!
I think I might just try to follow your bikini body plan so THANKS for keeping the links on your workout page!!!

Would it be pathetic to admit that I bought my New Moon tickets over a month ago? And that I’m going with my mom? And I’m not actually 13, but a 25-year-old business professional?!

And I also wanted to say thanks. I only comment every once in a while, but I just realized the other day that I’ve really started coming around in my outlook on food and fitness. I think it’s largely due to your blog. Thanks so much for posting yummy eats and inspiring work outs! I started reading a while back now and it only recently occurred to me that I’ve almost completely changed my eating habits-without even intending to do so! I was never much of a meat eater anyway and now I’m buying more and more organic and focusing more on the veggie and less on the carbs. You had a post not too long ago about a vegetarian eating veggies, not carbs. I had a bit of a duh moment! And without even a conscious effort to do so, I’ve incorporated more veggies into my diet! So thanks! As always, you’re an inspiration!

    • Fitnessista on November 17, 2009 at 3:52 pm

      pathetic? how about AWESOME?!
that’s so wonderful to hear <3 keep up the awesome work and your body will continue to thank you 🙂

  12. Carolyn on November 17, 2009 at 3:02 pm

mmmm…pumpkin cheesecake. Last Thanksgiving’s downfall. Won’t be coming in the house this year. LOL

    • Fitnessista on November 17, 2009 at 3:51 pm

sure, when are you coming over??? 🙂

  14. Kristin on November 17, 2009 at 3:10 pm

Whoa! Sweet potato and black bean chili? I am so excited to see this recipie! I just had a regular ol’ sweet potato topped with black beans and salsa and thought it was pretty awesome and now you’re making into chili?! Awesome!!

  15. Amanda (Two Boos Who Eat) on November 17, 2009 at 3:16 pm

  19. M on November 17, 2009 at 3:53 pm

Your Christmas tree is so pretty!! Do you ever sleep? Seriously! How on earth do you find time to blog with your busy schedule? I used to blog and it takes up so much time! What are you secrets for saving time? Please share! Oh and when will you tell us what this “writing” is for that you keep mentioning? Too many secrets, I can’t take the suspense!

    • Fitnessista on November 17, 2009 at 4:08 pm

i sleep 8 hours every night.. i have to, or i’m cranky and need a nap 😀
usually blogging takes about 15-30 minutes per post because i plan out what i want to say a little in advance throughout the day
i’m a big planner.. every day i write down by hour how i’m going to spend the day– it helps me get everything done!
as far as the writing goes, it’s just something i’m working on for now.. i’ll tell everyone about it when it’s good and finished 🙂

  20. Bianca on November 17, 2009 at 3:53 pm

Hi Gina, I just started reading your blog (and following your tweets) a couple of months ago and I just want to say that you really inspire me to be healthy while having lots of fun! I love your blog posts and the veggie ideas. Anyway, I thrive on crazy too, long live to us wackos! 😉 Oh – and I am screaming like a Jacob-obsessed tween for New Moon too 🙂 Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

  21. Shari B. on November 17, 2009 at 3:58 pm

Hey chickie… your tree looks great! Makes me want to put mine up a little early! (We usually do all the xmas deco on the day after Thanksgiving – AFTER 4:00 AM shopping of course!) I can’t even believe it’s Turkey Day next week! YIkes ’09 flew by!

Can’t wait to see what goes into the sweet potato chili! It looks so good!

Counting the days to New Moon… how do you like the soundtrack??

    • Fitnessista on November 17, 2009 at 4:05 pm

i LOVE 4 am shopping!! black friday = my favorite holiday
i’m crazy about the soundtrack. it took a while for me to get into it, and there are a few i don’t love, but i think i’ll enjoy it even more after seeing the movie!
      do you like it??

      • Shari B. on November 17, 2009 at 4:39 pm

I haven’t taken the plunge to buy the soundtrack yet. I know I’ll definitely get it I just am trying to decide before or after the FIRST viewing of New Moon. For Twilight I watched the movie then ran right home and downloaded the soundtrack from iTunes. Then I practically memorized it, and when I went back to see Twilight again, the second time was even better because I got to see where they put the songs in … so I can’t decide if I should do that again! 🙂 (WOW, the dilemmas we face huh???) 🙂

  22. Jackie on November 17, 2009 at 4:17 pm

TEAM EDWARD!!!Love the tree Gina!! I wish we had a hobby lobby here, I want some of those ornaments!…Can’t wait for the chili recipe!

  23. Jaclyn on November 17, 2009 at 5:03 pm

What is Hobby Lobby, anyway? I’m way up here in Seattle and have never heard of it!! 😀

    • Fitnessista on November 17, 2009 at 7:35 pm

i had never heard of it before i moved here, either. hizzle lizzle is kind of like michael’s– it has craft stuff and household goodies and decorations 😀

  24. Jen (Running With Cake) on November 17, 2009 at 5:11 pm

Very pretty tree! I love Hobby Lobby! I buy all of my decorations there as well as wrapping paper and ribbon. My husband used to dread going in there with me, but now that he has an iphone, he doesn’t mind.

  25. Mary :: A Merry Life on November 17, 2009 at 5:35 pm

I thrive on crazy. It’s fun.

And I’ll totally join in on the New Moon excitement. Yay!!

Looking forward to that chili recipe.

AND NEW MOON!!! I’m going to the midnight premiere on Thursday and am slightly excited. I’ve got my Edward Cullen t-shirt all ready, haha.

  28. Jackie (Army Wife) on November 17, 2009 at 7:58 pm

My hubby is overseas in Germany so I’m overdue to watch some man meat on screen (and yes I bought a ticket for the midnight showing)!!

  29. Lauren on November 17, 2009 at 8:10 pm

No lie, I was just thinking of making this same soup. I even looked up recipes this morning. Did you happen to see the one on Eating Well? That one looked good but the one on My Recipes was killer! I really want to make a big pot of it now.

Hope you had a wonderful day Gena!

  30. Pure2Raw Twins on November 17, 2009 at 8:36 pm

Your crazy day sounds like our crazy busy day! HAHA Yes we are so excited for the New Moon movie… we took a break tonight to watch some premiere online. We are dorks! K. well back to work for us.

  31. Joelle (The Pancake Girl) on November 17, 2009 at 8:46 pm

Those cookies look scrumptious!! Btw, not sure if you got it, but I sent you an email regarding that Guinness cake you make for the Pilot.. I really want to make it for my friend for his bday (he’s AF and just returned from Iraq also), but I wanted to use a homemade choco cake recipe I have. Prob is that I’m not sure what to swap the Guinness in for in the recipe. It calls for a cup of boiled water still warm, tsp white vinegar, and 1/4 cup milk.. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them because I’m at a loss and don’t want to mess it up by adjusting the recipe incorrectly. I’m sort of a hapless baker. 🙂 Thanks Gina!

  32. Jenna on November 17, 2009 at 10:15 pm

    the tree looks great!
looks like you made lots of yumme delish treats today 🙂
